Privatising SS means that the money we put into it will go to the stock market. Such a massive $ influx will increase profits to corporations leaving the ppl vulnerable to downturns. It gambles SS benfits. SS was not originally set up that way and should never have been a part of the general fund expenditures. The idea of privatising SS will allow Corporations to raid us of our funds. Greed is the MO of the Corporations and the stock market. Ticker tape has never cared about feeding the people.
I don't see how setting up SS similar to a private retirement plan like a 401(k) will allow anyone to raid the money. Where do you get this from? History shows that in any 20-year period the markets have outperformed any other asset class even if you INCLUDE THE GREAT DEPRESSION. It gets me how even people with investments manage to spew this silly rhetoric about accounts being looted by companies. I've never seen Vanguard or Fidelity loot a mutual fund.

The word 'reform' should always send alarm bells ringing. With over 45 million people already with no health insurance, this is a terrible idea.
