@Dim4323 Actually, before they started stalking Ash they were very successful thieves. If you remember the first episode they appeared in, they were on several wanted posters and were doing great. If they never started to follow Ash and co, they probably would've gotten that promotion they so badly want.

Plus, they're the embodiment of determination, if not anything else, that should count for something.

So I wouldn't say they outright failed, they'd probably do great if they shunned Ash.

Obviously Ash Misty and Brock aren't the only people beside Jessie and James at the wrestling match, so it is logical, and makes sense.
