  • White smoke = Lack of compression

    Blue smoke = Oil burning

Black smoke = Completely burned fuel, but the fuel/air ratio is off leaving behind particulate matter

  • @Heartjager it's a diesel, theres gonna be black smoke

  • white smoke is not bad either its just the fuel that also didnt ignite because the engine is still cold. there is no burning oil

  • how do u have ur dual exhaust set up?

  • @younggun5344 I bought it from Pinnacle Power Exhaust.

  • nice truck sounds good just don't rev it when it is cold bin there done that i had a 2000 7.3 i rev it when it was cold and it blow up if that wouldn't of happen i wouldn't have my new 6.7

  • yea rev the truck when it is cold are u stupid that is a good way to blow the truck up white smoke is NOT burning oil it is a either a bad turbo or a cold turbo i got a 2011 f350 with banks six guns tuner and def eliminator and 5 inch turbo back banks exhaust it smoke white when a start it cold

  • what makes the smoke white?

  • Alright, who can explain why there's white exhaust vs. black on diesels? What's the difference (is one a "bad" sign?

  • @Thilindel no the black is just unburned fuel

  • @Thilindel white smoke is bad, thts oil burning, its bad on both diesel and gasoline

  • @Timberwolf2011 you are wrong read my post

  • got to love them ford trucks, diesel live forever!

  • nice trucks

  • nice pipes

  • Very awesome smoke! I'd love to be there at the tail pipe!

  • what kind tires are those i would love to get some for my 95 7.3 psd 5speed but dont kno wat there called

  • @dixiemudnut Big-O XT's 35x13.50

  • , let the girl warm up for goodness sake . trust me its not good for it. , im not saying that cold revving is going to ruin your vehicle, BUT ITS NOT GOOD FOR IT.

  • @sethclark100 my dad, a lifelong mechanic said of diesels "start, oil pressure?, go (moderately)". any diesel mechanics out there w/advice?

  • @kenfo0 huh?

  • @sethclark100 yikes. you maka china-talk? u get me eggloll NOW!

  • @kenfo0 Yeah I agree, definantly atleast let the engine make oil pressure.

  • @cameron947 hes barely touchin it he aint gonna tear it up doin that

  • @midlo305 Yeah I know he's not going to tear it up. But it would be better for it if the oil pressure was up first.

  • 45 seadoo ur officially a retard i have a 1997 350 just like this only white with 52000 miles and if i start it in weather below 10 degrees it will blue/white smoke for 3-4 minutes and it is not a headgasket issue i know this because my 7.3 has firerings if you even know what that is dumbass

  • what size tips are those?

  • @mxmike869 6 inch

  • im buyin that identical truck only a 94 and droppin a 12 valve in it

  • 45seado you a cunt every diesel blows white smoke on a real cold start

  • hey what size sticks are ya running they must be massive cause im running hybrid 250 with 100%ovr and its not even close to that bad at 20 haha

  • you are an idiot. i cant belive you think white smoke comming out of a 7.3 is ok. your head gaskets are probably ready to go. and if you think your so smart your really not concidering you give it more gas on a cold start up. god i hate people like you.

  • @45seadoo Dude what do you care??? Its not like its your truck fucktard.

  • @45seadoo you really are a dumbass arent you, all diesels will smoke smoke that white/blueish smoke, its because the not all the diesel is being burnt because its too cold....if it smoked like that after 20 minutes then its bad an prolly meANS ur buring coolant from a bad gasket

  • @45seadoo Its not the head gaskets, the white/bluish smoke is unburnt diesel vapor that didn't get burned. If you look at other diesel cold starts you'll see they all do that when cold, including my truck that only has 150k...

  • @45seadoo your such a dumb fuck! hahaha!

  • Hate to agree with linkdink54 but its the honest truth don't accelerate diesels when they are cold bad for the engine and your wallet I have learned the hard way.

  • i'm pretty sure this guy knows his shit... this motor is FAR from stock. it can handle it lol

  • i may b chimin n late on this comment but ur not suppose to rev cold diesels with a TURBO cuz u gotta give the oil time to circulate thru the turbo but if there is no turbo then its no big deal just like a gas motor

  • @BigSlate1587 revving any motor cold is bad for it.

  • yeah nice job....rev the engine imediatly on a freezing cold start

  • thats not even a rev, that just a idle jesus christ. i just tapped the gas its not like he floored it.

  • @redwingfanz10 unfortunately its no different

  • @linkdink54 actually most diesel gas is mixxed to help with cold starts

  • nice exhaust is it custom or no

  • diesels will white smoke on cold start white/blue cause diesel is a heavey oil based fuel and they advance timing so much on cold start it white smokes on mechanical diesels ull be lucky to get them to start but they will smoke to and run rough as hell till the build up engine heat its 2 be expected afterall its compression igniotn

  • not necessarily, my 12 valve cummins started RIGHT up the colder it got. Actually, come to think, the colder it got the better it started, the better it ran.

  • @DieselPowerCummins ya do you know why it does when it is colder the air is more dense thus this makes air goin through turbo make engine perform better

  • @12m34w12 yes..i know that now.

  • 20* outside.... its a bit cold they do that till it warms up

  • Nice Ford!

    What exaust is that? MBRP?

  • sounds good man

  • gotta love ford is that a 96?

  • Yes sir

  • i want that truck!! haha it's a beast

  • $25,000 and its yours!!!!!

  • thats wayyyy too much for that old truck...

  • He probably said 25 grand because he doesn't wanna sell it lol. I wouldn't want to either these old 7.3's are champs

  • maybe 10 grand!!!

  • Be willing to bet he has over 10 grand in the engine itself....

  • You know your stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • Just about lol

  • Score! lol nice truck btw.

  • @Explorerman88 do i get the house with that lol

  • beautiful!!!!! i love fords!

  • What size tires you got?

  • 35's

  • sick truck, why are the powerstrokes i see always puffing white while they warm up, my cummins started doin it a little while ago, only cold tho.??????

  • Were did you get the duals for a OBS at?

  • Pinnacle power exhaust

  • sounds good frank and i like the duals

  • nice pipes, nice sound, nice smoke

  • what year is that truck i mght have the same 1

  • 1996

  • nice drunk man love the duals. but why would you rev the thing while its still cold, you'll fuck up the turbo. but i love the truck

  • Dont you worry about my truck man. It will be fine.

  • got to love a good diesel

  • nice nice
