  • really not bad considering you only had three guys to work with, if you could get ten.. hell twenty and just reused the same people this could look really freaking good man. need a bit more of emoiton with the interview tho, goota get in chareter! zombie war vet man cmon! lol

  • it is now MAY 24 2011. YOU LIE

  • @0mikey815 LOLZ!!!! You win my favorite person of the week award.

  • pause it at 1:22 and look at his face..

  • @MrBiggs099 omfg

  • bb gun fail

  • This was very entertaining, though I do have a complaint, the normal time table from Infection to Reanimation is several hours, not minutes. Unless the body dies soon after the infection. So in short.. should have added more blood to the Zombie soldier, make it look like he got killed quick :p

  • hehe tm7

  • this is good but the narrator kinda sucked.

  • Ignoring things like the blue BDUs and guns, and the female voice, it was pretty awesome.

  • i wish this was true

  • no life

  • Nice try, could have had more people playing zack. Overall good effort.

  • That was a actually pretty good. the guys acting was really convincing

  • Not a second one?

  • Where's the navy blue uniforms worn during the great sweep from the rockies?

  • the three gorges dam wasn't finished until 2006. it was several years after this that Patient zero was encountered. so the "Sweep" would have been 2016 maybe 2018 not 2011

  • I loved it!5/5!:D :D :D :D !:)

  • They actually r making a wwz movie. Imdb says it'll be out in 2012

  • good work. somebody should make a real movie about world war Z.

  • Whats the vechicle?

  • I don't get it :/

  • LOL @ Painted Nerf Longshot, nice job.

  • whats the gun that "burt" is using it looks like something from starship troopers.

  • That's a really cool little vehicle you have there. What was it?

  • Absolutely love it. Thought it was gonna be another cheesy teenager video but really impressed me. Keep em coming.

  • at 4:14 he has a longshot

  • you coppied yayakidproductions

  • Kuddos to your work! I agree with a prior comment using a narrator with an accent (real or not) was great! Good luck with your career and future work.

  • Well, it was ok... facts arnt so accurate. You turn after 23 hours... and also thats not a rifle, its a sub-machine gun

  • dude, thats a fake fucking gun...

  • @nadesNspades Really?

  • my point is it doesnt matter dumbass

  • @nadesNspades Good job! Look at you all grown up being able to tell if a gun isnt real.......

  • I really liked this. Goob Job. 10/5 stars

  • why tf is he limping!?!?!?!!?

  • That was really fucking annoying especially that narrarator chick. This was terrible

  • AMASING!!!!!!! AWSOME!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!!!1 u should make more zombie vids! i will tell all my freinds about this vid

  • Sorry I feel this is another geek shit

  • Great, i would say 9 out of 10 for a 60% made. Positive: Great! just Brilliant Good Acting. Specially during interviews Great Planning o Great Explanations Loved the RECON. Almost everything. Negative: (It would make it be complete) Need more Zombies. Need More Costumes. Need Makeup. Scenery looks more like being 1 day unoccupied than a couple of years. yet Great Scenery. Tips: The idea is making it look real, NO MUSIC is best. Keep it like that KEEP TALKING BUT ADD MORE SOUND EFFECTS.
  • What can I say, Great effort and Great short.

Have you tried getting Volunteer actors off facebook or somthing, If you havent already.

Keep it up and Good job.

Love the effects and the propers.

    Amazing job.

  • Needs music during interview for a more dramatic effect, otherwise AMAZING video

  • you need to make a part 2

  • I don't recommend dragging a guy with 2 broken legs down a set of stairs... unless you hate the guy AND want to attract undead!

Otherwise pretty good for no budget.

  • Pretty fukin good =]

  • Good job.

  • damn this was pretty good considering...i was actually looking for a part two of this :( great job i wish someone made this into a real movie, seems like a good plot

  • no part two, but I just finished another zombie movie called "Undead"

  • kool, ill chec it out and rate it for ya....kinda excited if their really making this to a real movie...hope they have romero involved

  • @Rdwomack hey wouldent be stupid to have one guy go solo in a cornfield were he cant see

  • @zombieman48 This film is so old I kinda giggle when I watch it. I had 3 actors that day, to answer your question, so I fixed it so he was alone. Still...*shudder* the depth of field, and the amateur color correction. Oh well, we all gotta start somewhere I guess. Thanks for watching.

  • world war z IS getting made into an actual movie.

    i'm excited=]

  • hahhaha 0:42

    April 4th=4/20=Stoners Day=He is probably a stoner.

  • april 4th=4/4 april 20th=4/20 not trying to be mean but you=dumbass

  • yeah I fugured it out moments after I commented and thought "shit im an idiot"

  • That was pretty freaking good considering what little resources you had! I'm having to adapt something for my media class and I wanted to do a segment from this book. We'll see how it turns out!

  • I did not think it it was going to be good but was i wrong!

  • kudos on this one :)

  • That wasn't half bad.

  • this isnt a bad home movie, i actually liked it

  • Great book half way through it loving it

  • Wow! What a HOT topic this vid is! It goes on and on and on....lol well made...could have used more Zombies though...even though I'm terrified of them! lol

  • Damn you, commercial break!

  • The resemblance to Rock Lee from Naruto is striking.

  • LOL!

  • sweat vid.

  • isa there a second half

  • Not really accurate. If you're going to make a zombie movie based on the works of Max Brooks, make sure your actors know the physiology of the zombies. You can find the physiology (as I'm sure you know) in the ZSG by the same author. When approaching prey, ghouls raise their arms, their jaws drop, and their eyes widen. They also moan. I don't agree with you calling this World War Z because it really didn't feel like Max Brooks quality to me. I liked it, but it wasn't canon. Good Job regardless!

  • Not really accurate. ZOMBIES ARN'T REAL!! they just make for good fiction, i started reading wwz and previously read the zombie survival guide, loved them, but i dont carry a shotgun everywhere i go now.

  • I know they're not real. I don't carry a crowbar or a shotgun anywhere and everywhere I go either. Don't assume I do. All I'm saying is that they called this piece World War Z and they didn't follow the idea of the zombie that Max Brooks put forward. If you're going to base something off of someone's work, it should remain canon and true to what the author originally intended. It'd be like someone calling a movie "Superman" and putting the Flash in instead of Superman. It's not accurate.

  • I know what you're trying to say, but all cases wouldnt be the same. I mean sure, acording to Max Brooks lore, he couldnt have changed in 2 seconds unless he had been bitten directly on the heart lol. Still its a good depiction of what might have happened, on a low budget lol

  • Yeah, but they've based their film off of Max Brooks' lore. Still, I'm happy we see eye to eye. I think this is an EXCELLENT zombie film, especially for low budget. I just think it should be called something else, not related to World War Z or anything. The script does feel like it, but the zombies are all wrong in Max Brooks relation. If you know what I mean =)

  • Yeah. the whole idea is based around the book, just with shitty zombies lol.

  • It does takes 24 hours for the fictional virus Solanum to do it's job. ZSG, chapter one. Doesn't matter where the bite happens, its always 24 hours, just like any other virus. I see someone pointed that out already but they still didn't get it completely right.

Other than that, I think its a great video, that's the only flaw - and its not really a big one. If y'all don't like it, make your own for use to watch!!!

  • yeh but that surgeon (in Rio i think? cant remember) in WWZ the patient died in surgery and then reanimated quicker than if he were bitten.

  • In WWZ, in one excerpt, the patient was given the rare "backwards" heart from china that was infected, and it turned the patient almost immediately.

  • if the victim is bitten in an area such as he arm or leg or lower body, it would take around 24 hours. If the victim is bitten in the head(and the frontal lobe is not damaged) then there would be almost instant reanimation. In the major artery=6-12 hours. heart=1 hour or less.

  • very, very good. More zombies and gore would be a MAJOR improvement, but I don't mind that so much since I really enjoyed this short.

  • Heh heh, Very nice. Very nice indeed

  • This video is awesome! Check out Randall Cooksey's Zombie-O-Rama from CNN on YouTube.

  • get more people and make another video please this is great

  • That was really good. It is a fantastic book. Great job on the movie.

  • Nice :)

  • is that a real rifle ? Whats the type ? a bit like israeli uzi SMG eh ??

  • Its a german mp7 man

  • Pretty good attempt at capturing the atmosphere of the book. I take it was a class project?

If you try to do another segment on your own, I'd be interested in seeing what you and your friends can pull off for the next time.

  • "There were hundreds of them, and I had 9 bullets."

I only saw 1 outside. WTF?

  • Hey,did you take the safety off?... :P This is bullshit BIG time...

  • Nah - this kid doesn't look like he's seen a dead bird, never mind a dead (reanimated) body.

    Poor acting. Good editing though.

  • 04:36 wow so much zombies

  • one of those rifles looks like a nerf longshot cs-6 painted black lol

  • lol i think it is

  • convincing the voice is good i faved it my friend

  • I need to know what happened!

  • yeah the voice part was great but the acting could use a little work... still, it was better than i could have done

  • Booooooooorrrrring

  • lol @ endless swarm

  • I want that little vehicle...

  • I know there probably werent many of you, but I think you could have shown more shots of the dozens of zombies

  • that is one bad ass ride at 1:00

  • may i inquire as to which program you used for the gunshot effects and the little blood splatter from the zombie getting shot, specifically?

  • I really enjoyed that, apart from the female commenting, that got quite annoying at times.

Lukas' Fishers commentary was very remeniscent of the book/audio book, he done a very good job.

As stated before, the re-enactments were pretty weak, so you know where to strngthen on ! I believe you lot have great potential ! I won't talk about the muzzle flashes because it obviously isn't a high/any budget short film, so people commenting on it is absurd ^^

    But again, good job !

  • The acting in the reinactments wasn't too great, but the situation itself seemed like something right out of the book. The 2 sweeping the house while the other stays outside and such, it did harken back to World War Z.

  • cool, i sure hope brad pitt isnt going to be in the movie

  • that was good, the main actor is prity convincing

  • That was VERY good. Hope you got an "A" on the assignment.

    You should make another

  • nice job

  • The interview part was acceptable but the re-enactments were unbearable. It was awfully dry and the narration was weak and sounded like it was spoken over a telephone by Microsoft Michelle voice generator. Sorry, looked like it took some effort but... meh

    - Add some more audio work, please.

    - Guns do not make visible paint drawn muzzle flashes.

    - No narrator except the survivor is neccessary.

    - More emotion.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to give you constructive critisism.

  • Not bad.

Gotta say, though, the acting was amateur at best. Burt was staying awfully quiet for having both of his legs broken. In fact, he looked a little bored.

And Fisher, acting in panic and under adrenaline seemed to stay amazingly calm.

  • pretty good but the reanactments were amateur.

  • pretty cool, i give you a 4/5

    is there a sequal?

  • dude i luv that book wolrd war z its a nice zombie book i also like the zombie survivle book 2

  • COOL LITTLE CAR THING :O

  • we blow it up in Calling Baker's Dozen.

  • haha my dad had one of those things and he really blew it up after he caught it on fire while trying to fix it lol

  • the girl who narating sound like the little girl from the resident evil movies

  • good job this was entertaining

  • dude in the book everyone is atleast 30 because the war happened 10 years before the interviews

  • dude, its just a bit of fun, chill out!

  • So what. I hate it when people are always that exact.

  • i know im not a fanatic im just saying

  • very well done, uniforms would have been better but still this is good, i have got to get this book.

  • Longshot, lol... But seriously, pretty good job you've done here. I like it.

  • Awesome work! This video is based on possibly the best piece of literature of all time! The only addition I have to WWZ is nuclear power plants. If nuclear power plants were abandoned during the panic, the core reactors would overheat, blow, and obliterate 50 square miles. I would have added a narrative outlining how governments of the world defended and restocked nuclear plants; or alternativley how civil unrest, zack, or simple abandonment caused nuclear fallout. Max Brooks is a genius!

  • Actually, I like this, it's very awesome, please do more :)

  • Good concept, good execution. The fact that there wasn't a division or even a brigade mentioned was inaccurate, but otherwise it was good.

  • Great concept, it would be cool if you do more handheld shots, like real documentary footage, rather than a reenactment. but great job man I really like how you took an old over used situation (Zombies) and displayed it in a different more realistic way. What did you use to edit with?

  • Very nice interp! I was thinking of performing the monologue of the guy who worked security in the celeb compound at some point. I related well to him.

Any way, love the use of the snow tracker, and the blood splats were very well placed.

Adding all of that gun flare must have taken forever!

  • should make more wwz one

  • wow that was the shit man!

  • today we dont need real wars anymore. we already know everything that may happen, we know the consecuences, we know what's gonna happen if we do this or that in a war or cold war. we know how that affects economy, the people, the world trades, politics, etc. It always splits into 2 main opposite bands and the rest of the world gets stucked in the middle having no other choice than to follow the stronger band, something which change constantly during the war. BETTER MEDIA WARS betw governments.

  • "I do not know what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

    -Albert Einstein

  • Looks good although i have a few comments, sending one guy to scout around on his own classic blunder he has no back up, and the narration could have had someone a little more interesting and lastly sound, some music could have been added as well as hearing the moans they talked about

i dont mean this to be a nasty comment sorry if it come across that way ive just got used to my media teachers Nit picking

  • very good. brave.

  • I agree with the UK narration angle. I think the BBC is a lot less nonsense about reporting news, than here in the USA where they scramble for "ratings" more than constructive journalism. Good job.. 5 stars :)

  • This was good! I liked it lots! ^_^

  • bad ass!!

  • Ncely done ! The narrator sounds like the Lady form the beginning of "Escape From New York"

  • I liked the British narrator.

    Very documentarian.

  • Kl vid fella, I was'nt expecting to turn out like that = )

  • 0:44 Thats, weird.... my birthday is April 4th

    Holy crap.

  • awesome vehicle, never seen 1 before

  • cool vid dude

  • this is really good dude

  • Wow, great job, Rudi. Lukas did some really good work with his part.

  • Great production

  • pretty good, but i suggest replacing the girl narrator only because the accent is a little cliche. Other than that it is well done.

  • The narrator only adds to it because her voice makes it sound like a story being reported around the world...most world news reports wouldn't use an American speaking person. The voice definitely adds to the drama...she gives it a world wide appeal...

  • This is great work! pulled me right into the story awesome!Keep it up.. ;0)

  • cool style dude. I sub

  • Cool. If you guys had the necessary extras to make a horde viable, this film would be perfect.

But 5 stars for using your resources well.

  • the things I'd do if I had a budget! ; ) thanks man!

  • thxs again for the share

  • That is an amazing video. I was really sucked into the story and felt like I was really watching a documentary. I hope that when the official movie is made, it will be done documentary style like this, because this was pure awesome.

  • Very well done; acting and writing were top notch

  • good work... i didn't understadt it all, but it's great!

  • muy interesante, te felicito. moncef douieb

  • liked it thank you

  • Wow, pretty cool vid! Thanks for sharing it with me. XD its nearly getting 2000 views now, :)
