  • @BasTea This was filmed with a 6.0 megapixel sony cyber-shot DSC-W50

  • @BasTea s.e.x.?

  • cool! how do you ferment it? common beer yeast?

  • @aterlvx I use Fleischmann's baking yeast. I've tried brewer specific yeasts before but didn't really like the flavor.

  • Dude, I make an almost exactly identicle ginger beer, even in the same bottles lol, It is good stuff, however i use a ginger plant, and when i open a bottle, man there is alot of fizz, I have to do it outside

  • NICE VIDEO MATE!!!

  • Gingers scare me..

  • betcha that's got some zing

  • @Flarehappy09

    It does have alcohol.

  • This looks lush. Im brewing some myself at the moment from a kit but I really want to brew some from scratch. Do you have a the recipe so I could try. Also what do you use for carbonation primer? Looks a good fizz.

  • @WeMoveMusic

The fizz is more from the bottling technique than the recipe itself. The primary brew is only 2 weeks. Then I bottle it while the yeast is still fairly active. I prime it with water and sugar, and then seal the bottles for another 2 weeks. Then I start drinking them. The bottles are subjected to some pretty powerful pressures. I've never had one explode, but I know that it's possible. I use glass but plastic is probably safer.

  • Ginger Beer taste like crap, its nothing like Gingerale; I drank it today it was burning my throat, i had to spit it out. Biggest waste of a dollar ever; I could've got Pepsi or something

  • looks great!

  • hey bud, whats your recipe for this.thanx...looks yum

  • gingerale is beer? i thought it was a regular soda

  • @cenaro55

It evolved into soda during the prohibition era. The original stuff was mildly alcoholic.

I try to keep mine as close to the old style as possible.

...Although I use yeast, and back in the day they used to use a "ginger plant" to start it.

  • ginger

    water

    sugar

    lemon juice

    yeast

(I cook down my sugar and ginger in a little water, steep and drain)and add the liquid to yeast, remaining water, and lemon juice)BAm BAM one tasty ale

  • Does this resemble Stewarts Ginger Beer, y'know REAL HOT?

  • Carbonation of these drinks actually ruins the taste...i like non fermented mauby and ginger beer

  • Wheres the recipe??

  • oh yeah and 2/3 of a lemon =)

  • so how much sugar and how much ginger do you put in per liter? i have half a cup of sugar for 1.5 liters and a small amount of yeast with 20 grams of ginger

it comes out abit like urs bit alot more bouble when you open the bottle

  • A Dutch Grolsch bottle :P ;)

  • making a batch atm, letting it sit until fermentation stops. How long did you have yours sit?

  • I actualy only let it sit 2 weeks before bottling. Because I want it to keep fermenting in the bottle. it pressurises and gets nice and bubbly, the down side is that there is a risk of bottles exploding.

  • man i was searching on "how to make a ginger beer" can u tell me the procedure in simple way, % at which ginger, sugar, yeast and lemon are to be added, how many days it should be kept undisturbed etc. I would be even more happy if u can make a vedio on it. Thank you.

  • do you get drunk with non-alcoholic ginger beer?

  • It does have alcohol. some of my batches were over 5%

  • That looks great! I've been messing with a ginger beer recipe and I finally got it the way I like it. Nobody I've shared it with seems to think it's any good, but that just leaves more for me.

  • i wish cameras had smell receptors uhhg! it looks good

  • I had non-alcoholic ginger beer in southeast Asia that hit the back of the throat like paint remover, but it was very good. Hard to find in America, let alone somethng that packs much of a punch.
