what people forget is one when thois came out it was a childrens movie while graphic in thwe book yes they had to submit to tv standards if it had been made today it would have probably been more graphic.

@DaniKnite It's the film's stylized portrayal of death, although this video is clearly pulled from the DVD release of the film which omits the weird, reverberating sound effect that was present in the original broadcast and VHS versions. Keep in mind that this was a television special and, as such, had to adhere to T.V. content standards- the decapitation had to remain in the novel. You might see it in the upcoming Peter Jackson adaptation, though...
