Very nice chair, I'm thinking of getting a TiLite ZRA Series 2. What castor housing you got? Are they Frog Leg or just standard ones? I've watched all of your videos, all of the best for the future buddy :)
Were the flip down handles an option or did you after market those? That is the best idea - I hate being treated like a toddler in a stroller by well meaning people, but I have not gotten strong enough to push myself around for that long, or to get up steep inclines so I need the handles sometimes. I appreciate the video- you gave me some good ideas for how to tweak my chair.
@sweets08816 They were an option offered by TiLite and I'm glad I went with them. Since the handles fold down, it also makes it easier the wheel myself because they are not constantly in my armpits.
I’m an herbalist and I’m able to help you . If you want to get out off your wheel chair and walk again, you should try my herbal remedies!
There are many people suffering from paralysis around the world and many go untreated. Many people suffering from paralysis go through painful and expensive treatment. If you try my herbal remedies, it will help reduce your illness symptoms in up to 6 months. tasomancientherbal@yahoo.com
I find the videos that you and your team are producing very inspiring! Your customized TiLite ZRa looks very neat. I found your note about your foldable handle interesting.
I was not aware how important such a small handle might be in indicating dependency.
Just a side note, BBC Ouch podcast covers a range of topics to do with disability, including sport. It might be interesting for you.
I got my black/orange ZRA delivered on Halloween actually, go figure, and really really like it. Im actually working with Spinergy and ordering almost $300 in custom only-ones-ever-made orange spokes and when I get them and have them installed Ill make a video. They only have orange for the LX, but I wanted to go with the SPOX because of the way I designed the look of the rims and chair, I knew I wanted the look with more rather than less spokes.
You should look into getting the ride cushion man. I injured my back 3 months ago and figuring out my chair setup now. They let me try a ride and it realy helps with your posture and overall body support.
@TheKkronikK Actually, I tried one and really liked it. I was also pressure mapped on it and it was the best one I tried...but I know they are really expensive. I am still gonna look more into it. Thanks for the reminder!
Forgot to mention, my TR is the first chair I've used a solid seatpan on and I'll never go back. The stability is awesome. Had a sling seat for ten years, never realized all the problems I had just from that. It's a learning process.
I have a Tilite TR with adjustable sling back. The sling really helps me rest my back, everybody is so different you have to find what's right for you. The TR is the best chair I've had, incomparable ride but I am going to see the Icon at the Abilities Expo and it might be my next chair. Check it out if you can, there's never been anything like it in my opinion.
@silvertip185 I checked out that Icon wheelchair...very interesting design. You will have to let me know what you think of it once you see in in person. I would like to go to the Abilities expo sometime too to check out all the stuff out there.
@blackpearlv6 You checked it out in person or online? I'm planning to borrow it for a little bit, ride around the show, find some stairs and curbs. I've got all sorts of ideas for the things I'd like to be able to do with it. For one thing it looks like it packs very small and I'd like to be able to bring it onboard a dinghy. It would be nice to sail somewhere and have my chair when I got there instead of just turning back.
@silvertip185 Yea, I just saw in online in pictures. I know the feeling of wanting your chair when you go somewhere. I feel the same when I ride my motorcycle and don't have my chair when I'm 100 miles from home.
@FlyinHyy You've tried it?! I can't wait. I had to get used to the looks too but I care more about performance now. That you can keep adjusting the Icon in fractions of a millimeter is exciting to me. I've never gotten my COG just right. I want that perfect balance. I want my chair to feel like it's not there, just part of me. I think it's possible with the Icon, maybe. Another month to go and I'll try it myself af the Abilities Expo.
that I was tested on. I emailed the company owner about the closet place to test, and even though it would be a pain to get there, a big part of me hopes the closest place is in Ohio : )
I have two different Roho cushions, one that has like an air lock that allows the air to be like higher in one area. I love them. I also have a Roho low profile cushion, but my therapist doesnt like them, she says its not as good for your rear. I find I slide on it more anyway. I should be getting my Ti Lite this week and Im REALLY EXCITED. I also am looking for a place to get tested on the menox hand controls. Im real lucky I saw yours because I am WAY NOT comfortable with the push/rock..
@krisreckner Good to hear Kris! I think you will like the ZRa MUCH better than that thing you've been rolling on. It should make a huge difference. Also, I hope you get to start driving soon...I would go nuts if I had a car I couldn't drive! Good to hear from you brother.
@d72466fly Thanks for the feedback!! That's reassuring. Is it made my Supracor? I'm looking into their "Classic" cushion. I demo'd their "Contour" and it was too thick to get under my countertops...then I tried the "Slimline" and it was too thin in the butt area. Hopefully the Classic is juuuuust right.
@blackpearlv6 i think my cushion is a supracor. My friend let me use a demo for a while, & it worked out pretty well. Please please please don't disregard a skin breakdown on your backside. A honeycomb has made my pressure sore occurrence become almost zero. i let a pressure sore go & it has limited my lifestyle activities quite a bit. Be Active ... Be careful :)
Cool video when i was in hospital I had that cushion and it burst

@MCZGAMING They are just regular 4" castors. The series 2 is lighter than this one...so I've heard. Thanks, glad you like the vids!

@blackpearlv6 OK thanks!! Yeah I think its about 5.6kg. I want something super light but still strong.

I just got my permit today & am now looking at hand controls and a lighter chair because I will be lifting it over me. How much does yours weigh?
Thanks.

@Kelsey1029 I think the frame (with solid backrest) weight 15 pounds. The full weight of the chair with the cushion is about 35 pounds.
