  • Who are the dancers in the this video. They are brilliant. I wish we could see this in modern day HipHop Videos again...The two guys are truley excellant. Please modern day HipHop artists bing back thesae "Moves" They are so exciting to see and watch over again. But they again it helps if you have a brilliant song like this from Schooly D - What a tune this is... Well done Schooly D

  • I bought the cassette single back in '89. The BASS is off the hook. Played it until my cassette broke. :p

  • The true creator of gangsta rap. Ice T took it to the westcoast to Eazy/NWA & KRS made the 1st full length gangsta album-Criminal Minded.

  • Great cut by an underated MC....Schoolly rocked the house many a night! Real Hip-Hop at it's finest.

  • Pure classic hip hop....

  • Dayum...That Bassline....(!!!) Pure Hip Hop BLISSSSSSSS.....

  • "skin so dark you treat me like a peasant," they don't make this stuff no more...

  • right back there to 85 and "gangster boogie"....schoolly-school the original gangster....followed his UK tours...even was an extra in "king of NY" movie...this guy still inspires me...real bare bones, stripped back beats....when I used to play DJ I dropped schooly and 5 people would go wild and the rest would stand there confused,it was just to real for them

  • i wish i knew hot chicks who listened to schoolly d. or 80's rap in general.

  • Lot of people was sleepin on schooly. Lyrical content was above average for his time

  • Lol nothin beats Schooly... the original Tupac when ya think aboutr it... great flow but total actor... for those who wanna object check out disk two of the king of new dvd ;) back on the avenue...

  • this was played in Nightmare On Elm 5 : Dream Child!!!!

The old school is the best.

  • Philly, 52nd street. That movie theatre is a hair store now.

  • @SRthemonster really, did you ever go to the movies there? cool as

  • Naw, my sisters just told me about it.

  • i lived 5 min from that movie theater in yeadon

  • anyone who doesnt know who Schooly is, isnt worth knowin.. if they r into hip hop anyway

  • it alot of people running talking how they know hip hop but cant name the rulers....just people they seen om bet and mtv specials

  • Nice upload, but needlessly distorted :-(

  • The reason why "nobody knows of him" is because a majority of now rap heads think the music began with Wu-Tang fuckin' Clan.

Schoolly, along with PE, BDP, and Ice.T ruled the late 80s and early 90s.

People need to learn their roots!!!!!!!!

  • @Jndfreaks so true man!!

  • @Jndfreaks WORD!

  • @Jndfreaks

epmd, eric b n rakim, east coast roots...member hip hop born on the east coast...people dont believe it, but its fact, might have been other palces, but was born on the east coast...then ez,nwa, etc made it nationwide...but i agree PE BDP STET RUN DMC..thats why no one knows of him, they werent fans back then, they just listen to whats sold now

  • @Jndfreaks No doubt. All the groups you mentioned. LOVE Schoolly D. But the youngsters have no knowledge of self and kind. Its sad. This album is amazing. I still have it on WAX. Got the vid on VHS....LOL

  • @Jndfreaks - you're forgetting about Stezo and the Wee Papa Girl Rappers, you wingnut.

  • @Jndfreaks

don't forget kurtis blow or grand master flash and the furious five

  • u are lost and probably too fuckin young to know bout schooly fool.

  • @laxpopov damn straight

  • too bad nobody knows of him now except for aqua teen hunger force

  • This brings back some serious memories. This was one of my favorite Schooly D hits. I remember at parties me and my friends used to do the dances at 3:35 and 3:56.

  • this is the way a rap video should be

  • old skool at its best DA DOGZ

  • YES!!! They're doing THE SPRINKLER at 4:01!! My fuckin favorite move!

  • what song did he sample on this song?

  • Bobby Rush - Chicken Heads

  • Thats a fonkey dance woo!!

  • 22nd june!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song and video, but too distorted, it doesn't get better if you increase the recording volume lol

  • The true originator of what is now called Gangsta rap- Schooly D.

  • Comment removed

  • which i sthe song where he says its friday night and im feeling kind of sporty went to the store and got me a 40

  • LOL! The reason you are not finding it is because the song is called "Saturday Night". Peace.

  • Saturday Night

  • this was an all time fav. been searching for it for a long time. great song

  • Graet song! Thanks for posting this.

  • Damn right I'm somebody!

  • I seen this many times on MTV and It was a great song and I love anything from nightmare movie soundtrack I a trying fine some for my playlist I never had the sountrack the only one I have with songs is the freddys dead soundtrack so it great to fine good songs that was in these movies.

  • I'm a metalhead, but Schooly D is an awesome rapper, even if he does have no respect for rock. I love A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, severely underrated film and this song is underrated as well. Too bad it wasn't on the DVD Set, but you can get it on the Freddy's Nightmare box set.

  • some artists, arent bound by genre type. lyk, i love hiphop n reggae, bt also love 2 listen 2 red hot chillies. some ppl jus got sick musical talent. 1

  • I've been a schoolly d fan since 1994 Gucci time. i've never seen any of his videos until now. Thanks to you and others who download the videos that allow us to see these classics

  • What Y'all gon do!!!!! This was my cut.

  • Love this Video!

  • I'm in shock to see this video. I don't recall it. If you have any others, please post! There has been nobody as good since. Perfect and unique Schoolly D is....

  • rename it!

  • I still stand outside my door and dance like that

  • I have this single -- This has some of the best bass. Drop it in the Alpine, turn up the system, and loose some hearing. The intro always seemed to start at the wrong time, though.

  • Ice T wasnt Gangsta when he first came out, Schoolly D was the originator.

  • West Philly All Day (52nd & Parkside)

People always wanna mention Fresh Prince...

But we also Had the 1 and only Schoolly D.

And The Hill Top Hustla's (Steady B,Cool C & EST) all reppin West. You must RESPECT PHILLY

  • Ice-T always gives credit to Schooly D. Both of them are pioneers. If it weren't for those two... well I shudder to think. Thanks for posting and thanks Schooly for the amazing music.

  • Was there ever a video for Parkside 5-2?

  • Parkside 5-2 was the shit for real.

  • (Schoolly D - Livin' In The Jungle) This track is also on Schoolly D's 1989 album "Am I Black Enough For You"

  • this is the Godfather of Gangsta Rap

    not slEazy-E

  • first gangsta rapper, not the best, but really good

  • Are u sure he was the first? Not ice-t? Schoolly came out first in '86, Ice was '87?

  • Ice t was 84 bro

  • "The first record that came out along those lines was Schoolly D's "P.S.K." Then the syncopation of that rap was used by me when I made "Six In The Morning". The vocal delivery was the same: '...P.S.K. is makin' that green', '...six in the morning, police at my door'. When I heard that record I was like "Oh shit!" and call it a bite or what you will but I dug that record. I took that and wrote a record about guns, beating people down, and all that with "Six In The Morning" - Ice-T

  • his first album rocked so hard...it's still stonecold illin' peace to my homey from philly

  • thats right he is called the father of gangsta rap

  • this is first gangsta rapper if you wanna know anything about hiphop

  • I cant find his music anywhere

  • try soulseek: slsknet dot org

  • much love schooly d

  • that real a one of the most dopers rapers!!! yo school keep hangin'... walid from algeria

  • Maybe the most underrated, underplayed old school rapper. "Am I Black Enough For You?" and "Smoke Some Kill" are serious classic albums. "Saturday Night" was nice, too.

  • 100% agree with you..........

  • Smoke some Kill was kinda wack "No More RocknRoll?" He'd already done that. Plus then he samples LEd Zep on the same album . "Welcome to AMerica" and 'Sat Nite' are the 2 biggies.

  • Dope!!

  • cool had never seen the vid on this one, schooly one of the greats

  • thats some old school shit
