  • Will you marry me? lol

    I love the video!

  • THere a great smooth video of this pasted up..I love watching...I do ASL.

  • *Slaps your camera for being so laggy* LOL

  • @ZombifiedBarbie It wasn't so laggy before - before YouTube took it down, it was fine, when it went back, laaaag! There's a silent version that's better.

  • absolutely awesome!

  • I remember seeing it years ago before Youtube removed the music. Are you able to upload it again?

  • @deafchickadee I've put up a silent version that's less clunky - I kind of figured the sound hardly mattered anyway!

  • hihì_ï_fëel_sò_lÓñélý_tØÐäÿ

  • Wonderful

  • Amazing! I really enjoy watching this video. I'm learning ASL (American Sign Language), but its cool watching other signed languages. You look alot like Justin Timberlake in this video, too! LOL Just a random thought there! Keep up the good work!

  • outstanding i can understand even with out sound. thanks for the [posting] make more

  • WOW that is so cool !! im learnign sign language at school and its awesome. my mums a teacher of the deaf, and she signs along to songs lol

  • WOW!!! :D

  • teach me bsl,

ive always wanted to learn it haha.

  • i couldnt tell you the number of times that i have watched this video! LOVE IT!

  • Hits from the bong

  • pick it, pack it, fire it up, come along

  • agreed

  • i loved it!! i know Bsl And Asl! its great!!!

  • well good signing! what's the sign used at 0:52 when the song says "being good"? is there another meaning other "being good"?

  • This is not American Sign Language, it's British Sign Language, they sign different than we do.

  • no i'm british, i use british sign language. i was just wondering what the sign at 0:52 meant

  • He uses it for 'being good' ('being good isn't always easy') - the sign can mean dignity or behave in a dignified way

  • oh right, thanks!

  • It can also mean "formal" or "polite", depending on the context :o)

  • also translates as 'innocent' or 'sensible' xx

  • The sign used reads innocent in BSL. x x x

  • CHAMP! I am in the USA so I'm not fluent in BSL but I know the words so I could understand most of it. Great job!

  • Wow...that's just awesome. I'm fairly fluent in American Sign Language, and have never really seen Britich Sign Language before. It's really awesome to see how similar they are. I couldn't figure out every sign, but I understood more of it that I expected to.

And you're so expressive and musical. Just amazing.

  • =P this is the song off of i no my kids a star but this dude is weriod ass hell HOTSTUFFYOBABI out =~}

  • Dude... you rock! I'm Deaf, use BSL and that was well wicked! I teach BSL in school and we've just done Cher (I Believe), Arctic Monkeys (Mardy Bum) and Alanis Morisette (Ironic). I had prepared this song too (Son of a Preacher Man), but the Year 10 kids didn't know it!! I love it (struggle to hear it tho). Your signs / interpretation were pretty much the same as mine, give or take.

When I get my camera, I'll post my versions!

Good to see BSL here... it's usually all ASL.

    DeafBoo x

  • He makes love with his hands.

  • This is one of the most quietly sexy videos on YouTube.

  • It totally is.

  • great

  • Outstanding!

  • I know a little (very little) sign language and this guy is so fluid and musical, I only wish I could sign this well....

  • this is cool

  • Is this BSL? It is close to ASL but with a few sign differences and two handed finger spelling.

  • yes it's BSL, it's in the details on the right side.

  • Hey, that's awesome! Good work. I love how fluid the movements are.

Deaf folks can seriously read that language that fast?

  • Hearing folks can really follow when people speak fast? lol

I am fairly fluent in Auslan, which is derived from BSL, and it always knocks my socks off when I have Deaf people raving on around me. Waaay beyond my ken a lot of the time... This interpret is just gorgeous.

  • Do you have a deaf close friend or significant other? You mouth the words so well I would not think you are deaf, but you move quite well with it.

  • yeah yeah yeah..so good, you have a lovely musicality in your Signing, YUMMY!!!

  • :-) :-) :-) good...

  • Wow... I loved it!

  • I'm studying certificate 2 in Auslan(Australian Sign Language) and found this fantastic

  • if you like that one you would like the rose done like this also

  • that would be great. thank you

  • your welcome

  • Absolutely amazing. What a talent

  • Seconded!

  • A fantastic song, and a really enjoyable performance. It's very engaging to watch, even to somebody who doesn't understand any of it!

  • Sweet...

  • fabulas im learning bsl and i love this song xxx

  • I love this video. It's one of my favorite songs and I thought it was well done. Please do more songs, maybe something from the beattles.

  • That was the coolest thing I've seen in a while I wish you would do more PLEAZE

  • that last comment was directed to hcahow.

  • Absolutely beautiful! :)

  • interesting....

  • Pretty Cool !

  • WOW!

    that's like wow!

    amazing!

  • oh my god i love this!! you seem like a really neat person!!

  • WOW! As a TOD (Teacher of the Deaf) this is really good! You put a lot of ASL and just really expressed this song wonderfully! Way to go!

  • I really hope that I have not misunderstood this comment, but I am going to risk being blunt. please resign. you have no business being a teacher of the Deaf. This video wasnt done in ASL. You have no business being a language model for Deaf kids if you cannot tell the difference. This is not a personal attack. I dont meant to be harsh, and I do wish to welcome people into the community, but it is infuriating to see people who don't know the language take it upon themselves to teach kids.

  • I love it, i'm a huge fan of sign language - bit bizarre as i pretty much know none - could you do less feedback next time on the sound so i can turn it up to full volume? and you're no minger

  • Wow, thanks, that was great!

  • i really loved watching this! adds a whole other element to this great, classic song. all the expressiveness done with the signing.....great! and, Thank You!

  • cool vid..deaf all the way =]

  • nice

  • Blimey oh crickey ... why isn't sign language multi lingual ... sorry multi singuar ... then all peoples of the world could sign out their love of each other together ... and we could all be in that shangrila melting pot

  • my dude:)

  • I loved watching all of your vids but this is my fave -- as it's one of my all time fave songs - But loved the way you have set the scene here and it's in black n white - love it x x

  • this was a really great video.

  • i love this!!!!

  • Amazing video!! the signing is brilliant!! keep them coming!!! :)

  • yeh bsl and asl are completly different, hence the differnt names

  • Does BSL differ greatly from ASL?

  • im not really sure how much it differs from asl, but it does.

  • Ha yeah, Americans always have to try and be different from the rest of the world!

  • I don't know BSL, but all I know is that I wish someone would do this in ASL just as well! Great job man, cheers.

  • my dad is deaf he is the only deaf architect in the whole of scotland and has been deaf scince he was born and if he seen you he would definetly like it and i am hearing and you have inspired me to become an interpreter coz i think scotland needs more bsl interpreters and you have inspired me not to be afraid to use my ability so cheers

  • I am pleased to see so many signed videos making their way into the mainstream venues. I've linked to you from my Song A Day blog so others can appreciate hearing and seeing the beauty of two languages at one time. Thanks! -Catherine

  • I am an ASL interp in the states, and i do a lot of theater interp... you are amazing. it is funny how similar BSL and ASL have in common

  • Thank you for this beautiful video.

  • This video moved me to tears...I am so very proud of you as a human being. Thank you for the beautiful job you have done and for sharing it.

  • Beautiful!!!! I'm a sign teacher- going to show this one to my students...fabulous- please, keep it up.

  • Great video!

  • dude, you look like justin timberlake. just kidding, good job man.

  • My dude!!!!!!

  • ya, just like eyeseewebpeople, i know nothing about how to sign but this is fantastic...would be a great music video gimmick

  • Love it!

  • I love this! I've just started BSL Level 3 and I'm having a few confidence issues. I hope one day to become half as expressive as you are with your signing!

  • Amazing, truly superb.

  • This is fantastic, i work with deaf children and am organising a signing choir. it would be great if i could show this as inspiration!

  • Of course you can! It'd be great to think that this helps more people get into doing signed song.

  • my cousin is deaf, she will love this!

    thank you!

  • Dude, I am neither deaf nor do I know sign language, but after watching your video and reading the comments I have to say, you are truly gifted.

  • You're really good but whoever is holding the camera's dancing to the song it makes me dizzy. But good on ya nevertheless.

  • WoW!Your signing is incredible! You have alot of expression which alot of ppl dont use when they sign but should.AMAZING!

  • i showd this to my mom. she loved it. she is deaf. but the norwegian sign language is a litle bit difrent.. but she got it:) thanks for making this vid.. sorry my crappy english

  • omg, justin timberlake!!!

    :D

  • nice!!!

  • Thats fantastic. :-)

  • this video is good but i dont understand BSL..

  • that's seriously amazing.

im not deaf, but i know BSL.

    and this is truely amazing.

    you obv know your stuff.

    more things should be signed.

it must be hard for deaf people.

    xxxx

  • It's very emotional, I love your vid

  • wow...this is amazing, i have to do this at my next liturgical performance in BSL lmao

  • For 3 years, I have been a SPED teacher (for the hearing impaired) in my country. Since I moved to HK then finally here in Canada, I have not used sign language. It feels good to see a song being interpreted in sign language, it refreshes my memory. Hope to see more....

  • awe... awesome!

  • I registered today just to say how much I love this.

I work for a Deaf charity and everyone here says how fantastic this is and we can't wait to see more.

PS - you look fine too xx

  • you "mumble" when you sign by being imprecise. Many signs are similar and if one isn't careful, one can confuse the listening. And yet one must sign with personality. Or else the language is boring or stuttering or sounds like someone using a second language. This guy is great. A great communicator. He even wears a dark shirt so his hands can be seen clearly. He knows his stuff. -C

  • omg :D that is so wonderful!

  • I love your flow. You sign with an "urban hood" accent, very smooth, very hip...and yet, very crisp signing. Nicely, nicely done. I envy you! At present, I kinda mumble when i sign. -C

  • how do you mumble when you sign?

  • Signing has to be precise. It has to be "enunciated" very carefully because so many signs are so similar. Like so many aural sounds are familiar. And yet the signer's personality has to be seen. Or else it's like someone mouthing a second language. This guy is very good. He even wears a dark suit so his hands can been seen clearly. He's a good communicator and he knows what he's doing. -C

  • SWEEEEEET!!!!!!!

  • awesome more please bsl first language mine we deafies need more

    thanx very much

  • Thats so sweet. You made that for your friend?

  • Awesome job!

It's really cool to see the differences between ASL and BSL. I'm learning ASL now, but my professor's first language is BSL because she's orginally from Britain.

  • How awsome you made this for your friend!

  • who sings this song?

  • Dusty Springfield

  • great video,,,learning bsl myself, thought this was brill hope too see more,10/10

    chelsxx

  • That is awesome! I love Sign Language meaning that is my major!

  • Awesome!

  • I love music--I like watching people sign--that was TOTALLY COOL!

  • It may seem weird, but i love sign language, its really cool to watch.

  • this was soo awesome! I love sign language! I just finished an ITP program and plan on getting out there to start maturing my skills.. awesome job!

  • very good, though would like to have better picture... nice BSL...

  • This is AWESOME! I am Deaf, and I LOVE watching songs. I wish there were more out there as good as this.

    Very great ASL.

  • My best (girl)friends sister has to communicate like this (deaf), I sadly never had the time to "talk" to her for more than that "hi, nice to see you, I know you hate me for going out with your sister - bye"-thingy... but if she's fluent in english and we ever meet again: My bet to make friends ;)

  • Thank you for THIS one. This song is a definite part of "The Soundtrack of my Life" - first song I heard in my first own car, the sign-language adds another important part to it. I absolutely don't know, if the stuff you are showing is right or "accurate", but I don't really care because even I get it and others do too. :)

  • so nice to see!

I also like your comments since they show people all over the world share my interest in sign language...it's beautiful isn't it?

  • Its wounderfull :D

Maybe threw things like this people will see and understand a bit more about signlanguage... (By the way people! Its NOT internationale!!!)

  • lol I know some ASL but thats all, so I got a little lost there. But that was really cool none the less.

  • WOW man! that was sooo cool!!

I'm in school now... gonna be a translater in a few years... Norwegian signlanguage though... :P

  • wow i loved that. if only it was a bit slower so i could learn it lmao

I'm only a basic signer, im learning though =]

  • well done! I enjoyed that!

  • I noticed when he makes the sign for "Teach" he turns his hands inward rather than outward. While the signs may vary slightly, his is a very expressive engaging performance. I really enjoy this video.

  • The reason his hands are turned inward not outward is because the teach sign has been inflected.. meaning "teach me". hope this clears the matter up for you :o)

  • Oh yes. That makes sense. Thank you!

  • AMAZING! i definitely love this song with sign! Keep it up!;)

  • great video!!

  • Great!:)))))

  • Fantastic!

  • i could cry. great job! thx a lot!!!

  • Very good!

  • I've had this saved to my favorites for some time now. I just came back to give it another look. It instantly gave me a smile, just like the first time I watched it. Love the song, love the black and white love how you sign it. :)

  • Well done!

    Great job! :)

  • Are you sure that's BSL? It looks like ASL

  • It's definitely not ASL... looks at the way he spells words. ASL uses one-handed fingerspelling, BSL uses two. I didn't realize this was BSL at first, and was dejected at how little I understood... it's definitely not ASL.

  • I must admitt the fingerspelling is BSL but a lot of the other signs he uses look close enough to their American Counterparts.

  • I think they just look similar because they're the same concept. The signs are made to resemble the actual action it's describing. The signs used resemble ASL signs, but they are different. (For example, the signs for 'surprised' 'remember' etc.)

  • I think i may be slightly in love now .....hehe. Awesome, very passionate!

  • Definitely one of my favourite signed video! Fantastic everything! Its as if this came out of MTV!

  • Hats off and KUDOS to you for a fantastic version!! I love seeing EXPRESSIONS interpreted for the song sung as well as the sign language, and you nailed them both!! You should post more of these!! AWESOME POST!!

  • Very moving. Fantastic performance:)
