  • respect to the guy who stopped to help him .

  • just cause the cars fast doesnt mean the driver is

  • asshole commentson the blokes filming, someones miss fortune "ill bid on it on ebay"which they could never afford anyways, ebay low lifes

  • this is called lift off oversteer. When your car's weight balance is at the rear and you have rear wheel drive, lifting off the throttle may have the same effect as stepping on it too much. The rear loses grip suddenly and the heavy engine pulls it out of the road. There is not much he could do. He should have used less countersteer and stay on the throttle. Once you get the tail wagging from side to side, your countersteer will never be fast enough.

  • @waclosh Excellent description of what happened. I see this so often!

  • @waclosh Good description.

  • What a waste!

  • modern cars are becoming more like apple products because once you get them if you change the even just the brake pads the onboard computer thinks that you're stealing them and it imobalise the engine. that be why i drive a JBA Falcon 1940's style roadster doesn't have an on board computer just a distributer cap and a radio. so if i start to lose control its me a 815Kg car, 4cyl 2L engine, no power steering, and an insurance bill of $3500 a year dam i hate being 16

  • @lochlandb I hate to admit, but on the nurburgring your car is not insured, so whatever damage you make on your vehicle, you;ll have to pay from your own pocket.

  • Looks to me like the driver could've saved it if he'd gotten on the gas a notch and drifted it out.

  • That might actually buff out.

  • porsche driver was taking his time just to get the shit out of his pants... there comes the golf driver to bother him...

  • It might be fixable, probably not because you can't really repair the roof :/

  • @liamcarroll1993xx sheetmetal will fix anything

  • @taz275 Not a roof :), cars usually get written off when the roof is damaged

  • damage of several 1000 euros for sure, but thanks to the roll bar it still looks pretty fine.

  • That'll buff right out.

  • see mine at ring:

    /watch?v=lr-ui_OX4fg

  • didnt look to bad, the rear of the car will need a bit of work but at least its not a wreck.

  • @B789c its probably totaled still

  • @bobrec3GTI maybe but its fixable.

  • Engine in wrong place

  • foking putada

  • i cant believe they let in beginners that have fancy cars go to the world's hardest track on earth.Their should be a rule of either age or skill that way they will prevent any crashs on the track.

  • nice camera my man

  • -$150000

  • how do people that thumb always find jobs in which they become rich enough to buy a porsche?!?

  • @olli30019 maybe because the "dumb" are busy making money instead of learning how to drive

I'm not trying to be an asshole but not everyone can drive like a pro, so don't assume he's an idiot. Admittedly he was pretty stupid to drive like that if he's inexperienced, but it doesn't make him dumb.

  • ah c'mon, that porsche coulda driven after they got it up, right?

  • that porsche actually looks in pretty good shape after a rollover

  • he made a mistake when he lift up the gas. if he wouldn't, maybe he we'll do nice drift :) but that's just a theory, in reality you automaticlly lift the gas. nice from golf 1 driver he stopped and helped, too :)

  • are u filming, r u filming??

com on, go over there and help them!!!!

  • Oh... i bet his wallet cringed at 1:00

  • @xprophetxtruthx No thanks, I'd rather drive a car which takes skill to control, than to drive that overweight pig which is controlled buy a computer.

  • @ilikepie45290 everything takes skill to controll on nurburgring

  • @ilikepie45290

All cars are controlled by computers now except the Caterhams and Atoms and such. Or better yet, a motorcycle. THOSE take skill to operate

  • Comment removed

  • I think he may have been on the brakes to deep into the corner, braking while trying to steer perhaps?

  • @Morpheen999 and with the engine in the rear thats a big big no-no. even more centrifugal force that will pull u wide.

  • Wow,I think if he floored the gas he could of drifted around the SECOND corner.

  • That guy in the golf deserves a pat on the back for stopping.

  • O well at leas his spoiler is not broken. So he can sell the spoiler for a good price lool:P:P.....

  • even if the car is slightly damaged now, does it really help with the 1,5meter drop when it is put back on its wheels?

  • one thing is to have the chips for a gt3..the other is to be able to drive.. :-))

  • Wooohohohoow... Woowowowooow.... ahhah... woow... ooow!

  • the best track in the world

  • you never stop on a track

  • @XesbyecroF tourist laps of the nordschleife are somewhat unique, remember that the track is 20km in length and there are only two locations that have safety crew; start/finish & the exit/entrance @ Breidscheid bridge/Adenauer ... therefore the only immediate help available to a driver is from other drivers.

While I agree this is dangerous, its the only option available under such circumstances

  • I'd say he failed to brake sufficiently before the jump, and lifted as, or just after he turned in in response to a lack of comfort with the entry speed, once that lift occurred all bets were off ...

I dont necessarily think the driver is a bad one, I simply think he either did not know the turn, or was a little over ambitious with entry speed...

  • @LaurencePCable this is exactly how i rolled m 3000gt around a corner like that, but there was some gravel on the turn so thats what caused the initial fish tail. no more sports car :(

  • @gibblebobble that sucks .... sorry to hear that ... once the back end goes its a roll of the dice if you catch it or not ...

  • since this is a tourist lap session it is typical when there is an incident for other drivers, right or wrong, to stop and give aid. This section is Pflanzgarten I which is some 6+ minutes around a full lap at speed, the nearest track marshall is at briedscheid bridge which is at lap speed some 2+ minutes away, and a lot longer for the safety car, ambulance or flatbed.

Further the only way the track will know if a crash has occurred is if a driver, or a spectator reports it to track control

  • left the opposite lock just too long, If he'd have turned the wheel back to the right at 0:07 it would have been a real nice drift. but not an easy thing to do when you just shit yourself. lol

  • @engaurd Just because you have an accident doesn't make you a bad driver.

  • Shitty Porsche and its rear-engine cause and effect oversteer.

  • it doesnt look that bad for being rolled, haha

  • if this was daddys porsche :D

  • rich and talentless XD

  • oops!

  • drive it home.

  • good job it had a built in roll cage from the factory woop

  • props for the helping guy, help a man in need. especially a GT3 ;( poor baby

  • +1 for the guy in the Golf mk1 for helping the man in the porsche!

  • @TypeRacer8 MK3 dude XD

  • @Mpayne That was a red Golf Mk2 :D

  • @TypeRacer8 Nah man i meant the green mk3 in front. I dont even know wot that red car is lol.

  • @TypeRacer8 Nah man i meant the green mk3 in front. I dont even know wot that red car is lol. Oh wait it is a mk1 lol

  • @TypeRacer8 Social! WOW

  • ohhh hohooo wowowooo Ahhhh.. fuck!!!! LoL

  • lol nerd discussion lol it

  • Actually. The number plate on the front is white and he gets out of the left hand side. So it isnt a english prick that cant drive. Its another euro prick that cant drive :P

  • @gumbo1972 Meant the plate on the back :)

  • Another Prick from england that can't drive

  • @YUSKHAN he is from Germany

  • @YUSKHAN another german car that cant handle ;) at least im joking you prick watch your mouth wether your over the internet or not

  • @randombloke10

PISS OFF !!!! that what happens when your on a track and carn't drive for shitt !!!! HA HA

  • @YUSKHAN thought you were german ... i love german cars just not you since you offended me by saying i'm a bad driver ... may not be the best but at least i'm english

  • @randombloke10

So i was right, it was a prick from england who was driving and that prick was you, Warning and Advice KEEP OF THE MAIN ROADS!!!

  • @YUSKHAN haha if i could a GT3 i would look after it thats garuenteed + i would prefer an aston much better cars

  • @randombloke10

carefull you don't smash that up aswell

  • @YUSKHAN okay

  • gut das der golf gleich in die eisen gegangen ist um zu helfen. alle anderen sind einfach weiter

  • from sweet to totaled in 5 seconds.

  • der schöne porsche naja so lange alle leben ist alles gut^^

  • Love the comments for this video. Serious nerd discussions going on here. :P

  • If that happened to me, I'd go straight to the nearest pub and get seriously hammered.

  • overcorrection anyone?

  • That sucks. He could of simply kept his foot on the gas and drifted through that turn, but it was blind, so he probably couldn't judge if he could pull that maneuver off so he just locked the brakes up and overcorrected. He should of slammed the gas right when he overcorrected and he could have saved it.

  • @frambesbuckeye no he din't let his foot on throttle

he let it from the throttle so the back came and than there is no chance to get this car again under controll

this is the con of the engin in the back

  • @Massa91195 This has nothing to do with engine placement. If you are carrying revs and are completely off the throttle and on the brakes full on, the car is going to spin even if it is FWD. This is racing 101 common sense.

  • @frambesbuckeye yes you're right i'm sorry

i just thought of walter röhrl who said:

in a porsche you have to be on throttle in the corners than you will have endless grip

if you go from throttle you will lose the back or if you can it aou'll drift

thats sth. he said maybe my englisch sucks(i only now the sentece in german) but it should have the same sence than in german:D

  • @frambesbuckeye so he was in the max revs on the gear (i guess he was in 3rd gear ,i dont know) and thats why he crashed?? he should stay on 4th gear???

did i understeand?? sorry for my english but i want to know if understeand you.

  • Poor-sche

  • @Extremely20 lol

  • HAHAHA @ "I'll have the wheels and the rear rim....whatchu want"

  • The Cayman would have made that turn, why,?? cuz the engine is in the right place, midle.

  • Nice Tank Slapper. Over Correction Unfortunately.

  • good sportsmanship on behalf of the guy that stopped. Not safe on a track to stop at anytime, but it was good that he stopped.

  • @fliingskwrl On the ring, the first car that comes across an accident is supposed to stop to help and warn other cars coming down the track to slow down...its perfectly safe(ish)

  • get a life you lot.

  • ohhhh ¿fuckk? hahahahaa

  • exactly why u want to fit those cars with a roll cage

  • shame..........

  • @ xtelevisionset, Just shut up...

  • thats when you love the roll cage

  • sucks to suck

  • Most of that should buff right out !!!!!!!!

  • Big up the 2nd golf driver!!!! SLAMS ON the brakes, jumps out and offers a help, Pay attention my people the track is so big there are no marshalls for most of it, your given a number to phone if having problems so drivers look out for each other, they do have a patrol car that goes round as i remember.

  • It'll polish out.....

  • fatal driving error... This is, why the money to buy such a lovely car doesn´t make you a suitable driver for it.

It really hurts watching this. And presumably his insurance paid for this idiots car, sponsored by all other insurance clients... I hope he hasn´t got a single cent.

  • I wouldn't blame the driver. This is what happens when you have an unbalanced car with its engine in the rear.

  • It may piss people off to hear that, but it doesn't make much sense to me either. Why can't they at least move the rear tires toward the back bumper and get the engine in front of the axle? The 911 would be a much more stable car that way instead of having an anchor hanging off the rear axle waiting to take someone's head off.

  • Thank you. Most people who actually know a few things about cars will accept this and get past the fact that expensive super-cars have flaws, no matter just how gorgeous the car is or how much history it has behind it.

  • I think Porsche wants to keep the rear seats, keep the aerodynamics (which are excellent), and the traction that the rear tires get is good too off the line.

But I don't think any of that justifies an off-balance vehicle.

I'm pretty sure we all just saw what kind of problems this can create.

  • the driver in the golf 1 did it right. on the breaks and helped the guy.

  • Agreed to a point, but thats what Marshalls are for danger of getting run over trying to help

  • @StephanRu88

well thats a racetrack so he did terrible wrong but okay lets go over it

  • @Mordax14 What are you kidding me , in a worse crash the guy could die if people don't stop and help. It was a major problem when they held F1 races there as well.

  • @Shaitan00

u stupid idiot never been on a race track so gtfo and use your iq 80 brain with your tarded friends -

    1) no serius crash

    2) marshalls on a track who help him

HAVE U EVER SEEN THAT SOMEONE IN F1 STOPS AND JUMPS OUT OF HIS CAR TO HELP AT AN ACCIDENT? NO? think why.....

  • @Mordax14 First of all get back to school and learn some English. Second you might want to read about a guy named Niki Lauda who nearly died on the ring (the full ring not the short one) back when it was a F1 track and was only saved by fellow drivers.

  • @Shaitan00

    40 years ago awesome example!

  • @Mordax14 It is a awesome example , its why the ring was discontinued as a f1 track. The problem of the ring being too big for marshals to get in time in case of a disaster hasn't changed because 40 years have passed.

  • @Mordax14 I looked it up , it was in Spain at Jerez in 1990, the driver was Martin Donnelly, who’s Lotus was destroyed when it slammed into a barrier head on.

    He just jumped out..was during a practise-session .

Also the day before he died , he attended the at the crash of Ratzenberger during qualifying on Imola and did the same thing ..so yes I've seen a F1-driver doing it .

  • @Mordax14 euhm actually yes....Ayrton senna did that in a race ...that's why people like him so much , it was in his nature to help people .

I forgot what track it was , but it was a horrible accident, where the driver was thrown out of his car..Senna stopped his car and ran up to him to help .

  • @StephanRu88

It's called petrol head comradeship. :D

  • @StephanRu88 that's volkswagen drivers for you

  • it is a gt3rs with factory roll cage thats why damage is minimal

  • @gunship28 No its not, it is a standard 996 GT3, you can clearly tell this because it the 996 GT3 RS had stripes on the side, and did not come in red. It also had a carbon-fiber rear wing. The iconic shape of the 911's roof-line can support a large amount of weight before it gives.

  • hmmm let me see customer with that much money couldn't possibly modify their cars colour not a chance! a vehicle will never take that much impact to the roof and be still so intact unless it has reinforcing

  • The impact wasn't that immense. I'm sorry, but this is clearly not a GT3 RS. The GT3 RS had slimmer side-skirts, a subtle splitter, CF mirrors, a CF rear wing, a minor splitter at the front, and GT3 RS graphics which came in either red or blue. I don't think someone would modify their GT3 RS back to the standard GT3 form. He probably has a roll-cage installed. This is a standard GT3 all around. Search up the 996 GT3 RS on google and then comment back to me with what you have backing that up....

  • One thing I couldn't fit... This is the pre-facelift 996, the GT3 RS was based on the facelift. That is THE MOST OBVIOUS hint that it's not a GT3 RS.

  • @porschecarreragtmay6 hey when you work for porsche or deal with them as much as me then comment. you cannot back it up. the truth is that is a rs

  • You have provided NO facts that that is in fact an RS. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PRE-FACELIFT 996 GT3 RS! THIS IS THE PRE-FACELIFT. I'll message you a picture of this crash...

  • @porschecarreragtmay6 you are correct this is a mkI 996 GT3 and there was no RS version of this car, only Clubsport pkg that included seats, 6pt harnesses, roll cage, fire ext and battery switch.

You can tell because of the rear wing, wheel and front bumper design which version it is.

  • really bad driver. he should have hold the turn.

  • you try driving a Porsche 911 on Nurburgring and see if it's easy

  • he could drive that home

  • Road tyres + Race track = Crash

  • Wow dude locked them up was really dangerous. Someone could have smacked him right in the ars. Porsche looks good still considering how fast that crash was.

  • @scoobyfan2009 yeah, porsche got great breaks!! ;)

  • @Coke4us wasnt talking about the porsche locking them up. I was refering to the car comming up behind him. The Porsche has a great roof.....

  • stupid ...

  • OMG! - Dangerous accident in a dangerous curve!

  • not really, lost control, spin out in the chicane, and gently felt on its roof, not like he drove right into a wall in 160 mph, now THATS dangerous :P

  • boi dis shows how Porsche are built solid bwith good quialty evan doe it flipped... a cavalier would disentagrate....lol unno americans cann nah bill nah car hmh

  • what the hell?

  • The Porsche doesn't look so banged up thoug .... from the distance.

  • poor porsche

I´m asking myself how many cars have ever been wracked on the nurburgring

  • si señor un coche duro de cojones.

  • This is probably one of my favorite videos. Hey, shit happens.

  • krispast8, you are so right.

  • that made me cry

  • the dude running out and signalling to the oncoming drivers has balls- or maybe he's a complete idiot

  • @TBaggCheli0s or he knew the track very well..where he's running the danger should be pretty ok..everyone runs wide at that end of the corners..

damn pity for the shiny porsche though ...

  • @TBaggCheli0s its the only right thing to do

  • yeah an awd would have never done that. Then again, he was looking good until he pussed out and backed off the throttle... Nice catch on the cam!

  • rwd are hard to drive :/

  • yep, lift off and prey god

  • the car didnt look that bad after. well it was bad but it wasnt totaled...maybe next time haha

  • haha... thats what happen when a tortoise flips over..

  • everyone can make mistake. i hope i am not one of them.

  • porsche are so frieken tough

  • Big props to the guy with the hero genes who instantly rendered help.

  • I may be wrong (never been able to drive this beast) but looks like he counter-steered too much for a 4wd. I think it could handle the oversteering by doing very little counter-steer and keeping the gas slightly open. Probly he braked too much with engine.

  • Normally I would agree but the 996 is RR not AWD.

  • Everyones an expert when its not them.

  • i know right

  • I wasn't trying to be smarmy, just pointing it out. And in fact I was technically wrong, I should have said 996 GT2/3 as the Carrera/Turbo models are AWD.

  • And I just realised you were replying to Aralmo640, not me, oops :)

  • no ones perfect ._.

  • of course the windows in one peace it has a cage inside

  • Forza makes you an expert, right?

  • Driving cars at these speeds is pretty challenging. You really have to know every corner of the track if you want to prevent something like this from happening. You probably need many years of training under your belt to know everything thats needed to know to drive safely, especially on a track like this.

  • Rear tires lost traction either because of somthing on the surface of the track (other cars are locking up/sliding), because he upset the car jumping on the breaks or somply came in too hot carrying too much speed. Its that simple.
