  • too much bass imo

  • I was firing redeemer just to listen to the part that starts 3:40... That was awesome.

  • Holy bass.

  • Ah. Brings back memories... Of hundreds of headshots, that is.

  • One word: Nice. Thanks for putting this up :)

  • That's the deal...the new UT games are more in your face while the old soundtrack was like the soundtrack echoing across space.

  • Seriously love this remix, Rom Di Prisco is a great composer <3

  • @WizzyKidCreations: Is he the one who composed this track?

  • @SonicXSTH Yeah

  • 3:18 put a big ass smirk on my face.

  • both versions are very nice tho i prefer the 99 one... littlebit more dreamy and not too in your face :)

  • I would be listening to this while flying through space at light speed

  • Meh I prefer UT99 version.

  • Fucking amazing.

  • Drum and Bass. <3

  • Its sooo soothing

  • Older Unreal music and many other games back in the day were composed in a tracker. This song is no different.

I have found the original track in .it format which was originally made in Impulse Tracker:

    modarchive(.org)/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=68847

It can be played in a tracker like Renoise OR in Winamp using a plugin like BASS:

    winamp(.com)/plugin/bass-module-player/132367

Module formats are sort of like a MIDI file with note info (yet contains all sounds within it)

  • @iKaGe01 UT3 uses tracker format? those are fun if your computer locks up because it holds the note....

  • @iAmThePhatMan I doubt UT3 does, but the original UT did. I'm betting they've made an MP3 file or similar to replicate it. I've had MP3's hold like that during a crash too :p

  • @iKaGe01 UT3 probably uses OGG.

No, it's only possible tracker formats like MIDI's to do that. MP3's and such repeat/loop the last fraction of a section or whatever. With a MIDI, it's exactly like someone holding a key on a MIDI keyboard. Hmm, not sure about a drum though...

  • I love it when newer games in a series have remixed tunes from previous games. One of the reasons I love the Castlevania series as well.

  • Very good, but my favorite will aways be the first, brings back so many memories

  • is it me or is there a cursor on the U symbol???

  • @DRONEROC128 The video shows the pc game running

  • ut2k4´s music was a way more evil than in ut3 i think

  • @WuTangStyle335 Yes, but Epic Games was trying to go for a more classic feel. These are remixes of all the old tracks back in Unreal and UT99

  • this is in Cortex Command isn't it??

well even if it isn't i think it fits perfectly to it XD

  • @avraham1 No

  • breakbeat dub d n b. cool.

  • Is this exactly the same as the original, tempo wise. It'd be nice to layer the two over each other...

  • 3:18 - 3:40 my fav part, but whole songs good

  • same...the rhythm is amazing

  • oh yeah this song is very nice :-D

  • ...But. It's so EMPTY, without that low bass growl! All it's got is a few bass beeps, the piano architecture, and the percussion! The additional string swells and that digital stuff around 2:00 are nice, but it just doesn't have the same drive.

  • You clearly aren't running the same system as me.

  • Well, yes, all I have is a pair of crappy 10-year-old speakers. But this is a MUSIC thing. I do a lot of arrangements for my a cappella group, so I always come at it from the angle of, "How does this music achieve its goals?" And IMO, taking out the low bass growl makes the song feel slower. It's got nothing to do with my 10-year-old speakers or your lack thereof. (How DOES it sound on your system?)

  • Put it this way, I don't understand you comment about the bass. I can hear the bass soundly.

  • @scrye493 I think it should be noted that on the map, there is a pretty audible wind growling which sounds almost like the old base sound. So you have to play the map to actually get the whole song.

  • I'm completely addicted to the original UT99 song of this from CTF-Face. The upper range on this song is excellent, but the beat has been ruined by I think. I haven't had a chance to try it out on decent speakers yet, but so far that low end bass just doesn't sound like it belongs in this song.

B- great remix overall, but that Bass overpowers everything else in the song. If the foundation of a building is bad, it's bound to fall down! Same applies here, and the song collapses.

  • One amendment to that. The breakdown part at 3:17 is very good. Was watching a UT3 video and when that bit came up, it got my blood going. Almost slammed my button for rocket launcher and tried to stafe ;)

  • The UT99 version breaks out into 2/4 techno. But if you listen carefully to the earlier parts of the song, the muffled treble percussion is intelligent drum and bass with a jungle sound.

  • Facing Worlds Classic ftw!!!!

    ^^

  • Awesome sound! I l-o-v-e it!

  • Lol prolly the most famous/annoying track from UT, but it's awesome. CTF_Face is THE CTF map lolz. But yeah, sound quality is admirable.

  • the music reminds me of the arctic's northern lights :)

  • Yeah man, how did you get such good sound on youtube?

  • Seriously though this is amazing, the sound quality is phenomenal, nice job.

  • EFF YEA

  • DONT SWEAR mAAAAAaan. Childrens read this LOlolOL

  • waht is a chilldren
