  • I really appreciate that Jamie Oliver is trying to educate the public not only on what we are eating, but where it's coming from, how it's being raised and processed. Luckily, if the butchering of a live chicken makes you squeamish you can purchase one at the store. If you want to know how to process a whole chicken visit healthnutnationDOTcom I'll walk you through it step by step.

  • watch?v=THIODWTqx5E

  • slaughter house pimp hat? i think so...

  • even though james oliver took away chocolate milk... he really did turned me into a vegatarian :)

  • Recovery of the animal usually occurs within 30-40 seconds. Electric stunning only induces paralysis, not unconsciousness, leaving the animal helpless but completely conscious to pain. (E.H. Callow from his book ‘Food Hygiene) -wwwdotazhardotjp/info/halal-eng/halal5dothtml

  • @Syidah93 That's why it's best to decapitate the animal. Quick and painless.

  • I bet all those people who acted so aghast at the slaughtering process didn't skip a bite of their meals.

  • If PETA and it's people took all their money and power and directed it towards feeding starving PEOPLE.....there would be no more starving people. That's what pisses me off the most. On the list of things to do, helping our fellow brothers and sisters should be on the top of the list. When we can figure out how to help one another then we can move on to the fucking animals.

  • @Nintariz I'll put this in a way you can understand: You have no fucking clue. Are you aware that most of the fields of grain we see are used to feed NONHUMAN ANIMALS? That's right. We use perfectly wonderful land to grow food to feed to NON Human animals who live miserable lives and are then brutally murdered for meat for the fat, lazy, western world. We waste literally TONS of water raising "meat". If you eat meat YOU are keeping food from those "poor people" you pretend to care about.

  • @Nintariz PETA only cares for the well being of animals, not humans.

  • Minha tia que mora no interior só puxa o pescoço, bem rápido até dar aquele estalo, bem mais doloroso! ¬¬

  • i hate the people who cried on this show - drama queens

  • @gothesheeep You are quite literally a fucking moron. This is how it's done at any humane, reputable slaughterhouse.

Vegans/vegetarians like you are nothing but clueless, naive, worthless scumbags.

I'm off to eat delicious animals.

  • @VanishingWish yea i know right those ppl are PRODUCTS of too much free time and middle class money

  • Poop.

  • i wonder if jamie will cover how meat cows are processed

  • If only all animals were killed this way...I choose not to eat meat, yet think it's important, that the animals that are killed for this purpose are grown in open air, and treated with respect. This is a clean kill, and far more bearable than the way it seems to happen in most of the places. It's in the power of meat consumers to demand these conditions, since the industry couldn't care less what someone who DOESN'T eat meat think about the way they produce it.

  • Good Lord! The guy kills a frickin chicken and women are shocked?!? These guys need to get their butts to a good old farm where you have to kill a chicken yourself to eat one.

  • I don't think he's suggesting that this is how large-scale industrial farms do their thing but more how HE himself as a chef chooses to treat the animals that nourish him. I think THAT deserves applause.

ON THE OTHER HAND, there's something seriously wrong with Industrial farms and how they do what they do.

  • @trini13archer You nailed it. This was handled with a huge amount of respect and all due reverence for the killing of a living animal to feed people. This is an example of how such a thing should be handle, and people need this example to be reminded that death is part of their food, but that it needn't be something horrific.

  • and applause at the end!

  • This is fucking propaganda. It's nothing like this. Chickens endure a horrific death, it's not painless and it's not quick.

Watch Earthlings and then see how good your tortured bird tastes.

  • Those ladies that were shocked, no pun intended, when he electrocuted the chicken should go to the local markets in Asia. The chicken is grabbed out of the cage, head bent backwards, throat slit, thrown in a barrel, lid put on so it doesn't jump out, and then bleeds to death. This is all done in plain view of customers.

  • @bigballer215 that's the point. This doesn't happen everywhere so not everyone sees the animals that die for their food. You cannot blame them for being shocked at something they have never seen, you can only be glad they have been exposed to the sight of it. People need to know where their food comes from.

  • Yea, but lions don't factory raise their prey in tight confined spaces. And at least some get away.

  • Here in the third world we slit the throat of the chicken and let it bleed till' it dies.

  • i cant watch!!!!

  • This was a VERY nice version compared to what commercial chickens go through to feed humans. I grow my own chickens and they're happy until the very last moments, like this one(they don't like being restrained is all). I have respect for vegetarians and I can NOT stand when people that eat meat talk as if "its just an animal" either. If you are horrified at the real way animals are transported/slaughtered(been there/seen that) put your money where your mouth is and research local farms b4 u buy.

  • I don't see a lion taking the time to humanely slaughter its prey..

  • @Megakurth i'm glad u settle for the moral values and conscience of a lion. i'm sure the world would be a great place if everyone was like u.

  • @blugirl4 it certainly would.

My point was, that we actually take time to humanely slaughter them. Everyone is up in arms about the death of the animal, but it is being killed humanely compared to a lion which would shred its prey to bits without even thinking about it.

  • @Megakurth oh it sounded as if you actually thought humans shouldn't be as humane about killing animals, that we should have the same concerns about our 'prey' as a lion...sorry, my fault. then yeah, i agree with u

  • @Megakurth well lions don't really have a conscience now, do they?

  • @Megakurth keyword HUMANely. your not a fucking lion. humans are a little more emphathetic then that. but then again... whats worse the guillotine, the electric chair, lethal injection, or gas chambers?

  • Free energy can change the world! But the big oil corporations don't want that technology revealed,Get the blueprints for a free energy motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,The revolution begins!

  • @PoliticalExile3 I respect your opinion.

  • @PoliticalExile3 You get easily offended. If you can't handle the fact that other people will not agree with you..Do yourself a favor and log off youtube.

  • @PoliticalExile3 I just said don't compare lions too humans.

  • @PoliticalExile3 A lion is a carnivore, and needs meat. you are an omnivore, so meat is not a necessity. a lion doesn't fully comprehend that it is taking a life. and it's prey had a free life before it was caught.

just because we can exercise dominance over animals doesn't mean we should. animal agriculture is the #1 contributor to climate change, and water and air pollution. it contributes to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. be compassionate. you're more evolved. act like it.

  • @PoliticalExile3 Get in a cage with a lion.. without a gun or a knife. You will see who the real predator is in this world.

  • This is absolutely disgusting.. how can any of those people there eat after they have witnessed that? Also, what happens on regular slaughterhouses is far worse... How can people talk about "respect" for animals if they're gonna kill them? I wonder if they would like that same kind of respect for themselves? Jamie Oliver is sick in the head.

  • @porolita22

So glad i'm vegan, wow thats terrible. sick world

  • It is 100% humane since Jamie has rendered the chicken unconscious.

  • its great they put this on tv

  • @PoliticalExile3

but, baby, a homo moralis brain differs you from a lion...

  • if you really read and understood my comments (because my comments are balanced, like only a few i've read on this topic) i only have one more comment of wisdom and if you have a brain you will understand...this like several other issues in this world need true balance. blessed be.

  • I used to eat meat..now I shall NOT!! OMFG...tramatized.

  • @isabellayessi liar

  • fuck jaimie oliver. if he really cared he wouldnt approve any kind of killing of any kind of animal. ethical my arse.

  • @okies110790 There is a difference between being ethical and being humane

  • How'd he kill it by cutting its mouth? : \

  • @Hamletfan wow...

he slits its throat through the inside of its mouth.

this isn't how it happens in real life...in real life.

they fucking cut off its head.

it bleads out alive...then its ripped apart.

  • @knuckleupjonez Thats not true at all, you need the heart pumping to pump put the blood, if you sever the spinal column, the heart slows down and the blood won't all pump out of the meat; that's fine if you farmer brown and your wife is gonna cook up the chicken tonight, but meat that needs to be stored must be blood free. You have no idea what your talking about, so you have no business talking.

  • @knuckleupjonez you really missed the point of this whole thing huh?

  • I'm nvr eating meat again....

  • @haha00z Where did you think meat came from? God, people are so sensitive now a days.

  • @Mesterse did u even check out the factory chicken farms videos? See it n decide if u still want to eat meat. It's not good for either ur health or earth.

  • @haha00z Obviously meat is good since I actually know how to properly capitalize words and write them in full. Evidently vegetarianism leads to dyslexia.

  • @Mesterse ...in today's polluted world i don think u can find really healthy meat which isnt abused in any way or fed anything unnatural

  • @Mesterse I don't think this is a black-or-white issue. It would be nice if animals didn't have a nervous system, though. I'd feel a lot better about eating them. And maybe if vegetables weren't so damned expensive--and taste crap---we'd all eat more of them. I hate vegetables---but I can still admit that I know they are healthier for us.

  • Why do they look shocked? Are they vegetarian? Where do you think your meat comes from hypocrits

  • @Jonni0608 "Why do they look shocked?" Why do you think? Like most people living, they've probably never actually SEEN it happen.

  • @Jonni0608 I agree. If you eat meat, you should be able to deal with this. I think it's really hypocritical that someone eats it, yet says they wouldn't be able to kill it for this purpose. I think people don't give a thought about their choices and what they imply. I wouldn't be able to do it, so I don't eat meat. Our antecessors would hunt or raise what they ate, what would these people do? Did they think their meat was grown out of vegetables?

  • @Jonni0608 1:25 AHHH YUMMM

  • @Jonni0608

They are not hypocrits, they're just instinctively shocked at the moment because its the first time they see a living creature being killed for real, and they realise for the first time what their food comes from. Its an emotional reaction that cannot be rationaly controlled.

Hypocrisy is far different in this case: its saying you're against killing animals before ordering a medium rare steack to the waitress. >>> THEY DON'T <<< and they even applause at the end.

  • humans are heartless, selfish and the most dangerous animals alive.

  • @tammyloretta What? So what are all the animals who kill each other in the most... well, bestial ways?

    Get real.

  • its too sad to see the animal cry because it knows its going to die. see FOOD INC. if you want to eat meat, buy from people who respect life. not people who treat the animals that are giving their lives to nourish us, like garbage. there is just no honor in that kind of life.

  • i remember my grandparents farm and all the slaughering of different animals they had there from chickens to rabbits, sheep and pigs. its not nice, but meet doesnt grow in trees.

so if you eat it dont be a beige ass and cover your eyes and pretend you are offended. every meet you eat was once a living breathing creature. if you cant accept that go vegan

  • i am not eating chicken anymore!! >:C

  • wow thats a differant way too kill a chicken

  • 14000 chickens are killed ever minute in the US

  • The closest thing to a "humane" kill is a quick guaranteed death. As such, stun it like they did, chop its head off, then proceed with draining it.

Excluding decapitation doesn't guarantee it's dead quick enough. Yes, it's morbid I know... but you'd rather look at a presumably dying/dead chicken bleeding slowly?

  • Comment removed

  • What a FUCKING joke "humane" killing!!!!!

  • @dheeraj12 - if we are not evolved to eat meat, then why would god give us instructions on how to slaughter in the bible or why would Allah provide instructions in the Holy Koran?

And I too agree with what the slaughterman says. You care for the birds in life treat them with respect as they provide us with nourishment.

I keep chickens and turkeys for eggs and meat.

  • @theratners

WHY? Because the bible was written BY man FOR man...not some supreme being. But this is what people have to tell themselves to relieve their guilt...HOW PATHETIC!

  • yeah its not nice to watch like pretty GROSS but necessary, we eat meat so we have to do it, and i think what that paul guy said about respecting the animal is true they sacrifice their lives to give us life truly...jamie got a licence to kill

  • cutting up the throat was pretty gruesome. Why not slit the throat

  • People say that we are not evolved to eat meat, but if it is evolution then if keep eating meat our body will evolve to a point where can eat meat.

If you cannot digest meat we would not be able to eat it all, like metal, etc., the fact that we can at least 'partially' digest meat might mean we can eat meat.

But then, we are not true herbivores since we cant digest cellulose.

  • I love chicken...eggs, fried, baked, or grilled. The only way to get it, is to kill it...and to do it fast and humanly as possible...know where your food comes from ...

  • Well you gotta kill it if you want to eat it.

At least the chicken has a quick dead. This is actually a pretty fast and painless death. The reality in big slaughterhouses isn't that merciful.

  • Nothing in this world could make me stop eating chicken, its soooo good.. if cooked right

  • Note the typical reactions by men and women: women chickening-out, men totally drawn and interested. Hahahaha! Free-range all the way thoug. You are what you eat.

  • I give him props. At least, because we are all omnivorous, we don't have to live with too much guilt of killing our food painfully.

  • THe chickens wings shut closed quickly LOL

  • lmao at idiots who want to kill jamie and think this is bad,and then they go to places like kfc and enjoy a bucket of their chicken, grow up, this is the reality of life for people and animals,

At least the chicken had a quick death.

  • (con't) head off with a sharp axe and spray those prententious fawkers with it's blood.

    Then, dinner's served.

  • Well a beheaded chicken doesn't spray blood anyway. My mother has a some chickens, and I had to kill some of them due to diseases with an axe. There isn't much blood coming out anyway. Only a few drips.

  • Oh Christ!! Some had to cover their faces when he zapped the bloody bird. What a bunch of pansy ass bedwetting urban assholes.

For those of us who grew up on a farm and saw the gritty ebb and flow of life - I would have suggested to Jamie that he get old school and cut the chicken's

  • @thm149 I agree. But cutting the chicken's head off to kill it would have gave them nightmares, haha. Because as I am sure you know, the chicken would still be moving around after death.

  • i think that if we're gonna choose to eat meat, we should accept the fact that there will be killing involved, and no matter what, its not gonna be "nice". i dont mean to be cruel when i say this, but this is just a part of the natural food chain. birds kill and eat worms - do they do it in the most painless way possible? not really- they just do what works- and then later on, those birds get attacked by say a lion - and i dnt think a lion puts too much thought as to how to do it in the most

  • delicate way either. i mean, i dnt think we're killing animals in the most excruciating way possible for the purpose of some sick &perverse pleasure. if animal activiists want to bash us for killing and eating meat, they should go lobby against all the other omnivores and carnivores out there in the foodchain...if humans and animals are equal, i dnt see why lions should get off the hook for killing cute innocent animals so savagely, while jamie oliver here is trying to be as quick as possible

  • Chicken the other white meat,,,better than pork and I do work at a ham plant and love my f---in job. Meat lover's rule!!!

  • "give it a good life?" wow these guys are so full of bullsh!t its not even funny, go find some actual footage of the slaughter houses and the breeding/raising places and see how "good of a life" they give these precious creatures. dont buy into this BS, the real meat industry provides the worst possible life imaginable, and tortures and murders animals while still conscious and alive... be ashamed of yourself if your a meat eater!! unless u have no heart.

  • The hell with it take a axe cut damn things head off and throw it in a cooker. Thats the way your grandma done it. Its just a damn chicken people, grow up.

  • watch the movie FOOD .INC and you will see exactly how your chickens get to your table, i can tell you it is nothinglike this

  • Great comment....too true. Maybe you have seen but check out earthlings. I say we eat Jamie;)

  • Yep, I love meat, but I check where It's coming from (mostly anyway)

I have no problems with animals dying for my food, but if they have to die it should be as merciful as possible.

    Mmmmh Chicken....

  • @riddler4848 it is if you buy free range chicken... but for chicken found in supermarket it is true that FOOD inc is right

  • @riddler4848 watch the movie Earthlings as well - this demonstration of killing a chicken differs from reality a bit; in fact they are doing it faster without much control over wheter the bird is really unconscious

  • 3 words, fuck you jamie

  • these people (audience) are sooooo silly!

What did they thk, that killing was nice? Why do they start and startle? Why do they frown? And at the end, they applause like, oh we're relieved, this was totally painless and nice but in fact, this is a RECONSTRUCTION, that's NOT the way it goes in overcrowded industries, it's just awful, disgusting, inhumane and revolting. The cook-killer didn't mention the debeaking stage, the broken legs, birds dying in thr own droppings, well tht's the REALITY

  • es una de las cosas mas estupidas que e visto dios los ba castigar

  • I am a tiger....I dont eat vege

  • To hell with peta, lets eat!

  • well i m also human ,,and eating chicken is not my nature...no animal is made for human food,,,,we have brains we can cultivate crops.,vegetables etc for our food. a animal has equal right to live ,,they have somewhat intelligence, they recoginize ways eachother and lots of pain receptors. so leave them alone for other animals...dont disturb the nature and its balance...go veg.

  • @danger963 We can cultivate crops... that are bad for us, Grains. CORN! Soy is not exactly bad for us, but not the whole protein story either.

We may have brains. A nice adaptation from the animal kingdom. But we are omnivores by our nature.

  • buddy human r herbivores..I had biology in my college days..so When we kill animals to eat them, they end up killing us because their flesh, which contains cholesterol and saturated fat, was never intended for human beings, who are natural herbivores.

in human body jaw, teeth, digestive system, nail, kidney never meant for flesh...

in jungle tiger or lion or so kills a deer so swiftly ..by pressing a vain in neck stops blood to brain..tha nature has made such a balance but we all r distrubing it..

  • If they were teaching you that in biology class, I'm frankly appalled you got so badly ripped off out of your money for that education. Humans are omnivores, which means we're adapted to eat a wide variety of food sources, from grains, to vegetables, fruit, and meat. Meat doesn't HAVE to be part of the human diet, but say we are herbivores is just flat out wrong.

  • ya we were taught abt human anatomy....

Can u prove ur point.....coz i can only laugh on ur statements....

  • Your teacher sucked. Seriously. If you learned this shit in biology class then my friend you got bad luck.

Our digestive tract is build for meat and vegetables. But we can live without meat, thats true.

  • our digestive tract is build for meat who has told u this ,,,,who i wanna know that retard teaching u all this,,,,Do u have any concrete point to prove ur cmmnt....atleast google and spend some time to know human anatomy.. then comment here.......think before u write smthing here....

  • lol my biology teacher was vegan. So suck on that. Still he never came up with all that bullshit about humans being unable to digest meat properly. Our digestive apparat is more than able to digest meat. About the bad stuff in meat (saturated fats) well just don't eat too much of it. Same can be said about vegetables. With all the crap they spray on it to last longer...

I find it troublesome that people would rather falsify general knowledge about human physiology, to fuel their agenda.

  • HAHAHA EINSTEIN...dont write so much,,just write simply something concrete to prove ur theory...which is completely remote from reality... once again HUMAN BODY IN NOT MADE FOR CONSUMING non-veg...google it.

  • lol, yeah, sure... just mind your own business. Google it.. yeah, I prefer scientific books over the internet thank you very much.

  • Make no mistake. All the other chickens in most of the world would hope they die this peaceful death. No shock here: this was very respectful to the animal and the viewers. Ask your local store how they kill the chicken you eat: they have NO idea.

  • If it was so respectful, it's precisely because there WERE VIEWERS indeed, or else why do you thk they don't like cameras in slaughterhouses usually?

  • I have owned my computer for only about a month. I cant believe what i have seen and read. I cant believe that their are people taking the time and money worry about a chicken being mistreated. There are children all over this country that need your help and money. I see what america cares more about CHICKENS!!!!!!

  • 612colby, Animal rights are intricately and inherently linked to Human Rights and nothing, absolutely NOTHING prevents anybody to stand up for both at a time. But, more profoundly, animal-rights defenders should not even have to justify abt this because when sb fights against racism, do you criticizing them for not fighting agst paedophilia? Plus, your taking for granted tht I am part of America betrays the centration towards self I am standing agst,be it commnautarism,or anthropocentrism

  • You can use all the big words you want, if it makes you feel smart. Your right people should be able to stand up for want they want thats true,But keep it in mind when talking about racism, where talking about humans. I dont know about you but to me there is a differents. Animals do not have rights, they are put here for us. Its fine for people to stand up for what they think is right it is not ok to push it on others.

  • What are you Amish? Welcome to the real world..your next on my menu. Don't you understand that because we treat these beings like this we have conditioned ourselves to treat everything like shit.

  • Comment removed

  • I eat chicken and other animals because Im a Human. Humans are at the top of the food chain. A chicken that has lived a horrible life and dies a horrible death is no different to a free range happy chicken as it has known no happiness to miss. The only difference is the happy chicken has more to lose.

If you refuse to eat meat to protect nature you only go against nature which has determined you should eat meat and plants.

  • @lostinbravado Does this mean you will try to be unhappy so as to cushion the loss of your own life, one day?

  • @talkingbookworm

Are you saying that the emotional loss that we experience just before we die is equal to that of a chicken? Even so, me being sad at being eaten doesnt make it unjust. Unhappiness is no excuse.

Predators kill Prey. Thats not a human invention, thats nature. We are predators, regardless of how much you wish to deny it. I do agree that we are out of control, but that doesnt mean we should stop eating meat.

  • @lostinbravado said "even so..."

Sounds like you answered your own Q in the positive, with a yes, but then continued? Perhaps they do feel a comparable loss. Who knows for sure?

The point u made is: the more an animal suffers the less it has to lose when it dies. I'm not against eating meat, but I am against the justification of animal cruelty. Nature is cruel, that's true. But I am Nature too, and so that complicates matters. I can transcend this unnecessary cruelty. Wish we all could...

  • @talkingbookworm

I dont know anyone who would condone animal cruelty and Im pretty sure that no one short of a psychopath - would. I also cant say for sure which is a more ok chicken to kill; the life-of-abuse chicken or the free-range chicken, but I would imagine the free-range one would be more scared.

I dont condone animal cruelty, but I do think we should eat meat. Its natural after all! Eating a free-range chicken is no different than a lion eating a gazelle.

  • @lostinbravado "I dont know anyone who would condone"; "I dont condone".

    TBW - I didn't say condone, I said justify...

@lostinbravado "Eating a free-range chicken is no different than a lion eating a gazelle"

TBW - Be a Gazelle or be a Lion, on a primal path, or be a Human, on a conscious path. That what makes a human different from a Lion, that's what we need to work on. Hope you agree.

  • Just one thing, lions and Tigers kill there pray quickly by asphyxiation. yes the prey are scared but no more so than hanging a chicken upside down.

Other than that good comment by yourself

  • @lostinbravado what a sick comment. so there's no difference between a cage-bred chicken and a free-range chicken because they are gonna die anyway? how about you? what if i put you in prison for life, coz you're gonna die anyway! maybe even better, coz you have "no happiness to miss"! you have no respect for life. not even a shred of sympathy/empathy.

  • @SugarKatie You know Katie I accept that one day I could become the dinner of a new more advanced Predator. If that day comes I will try to save myself but if I can't, I won't complain. I eat meat and have little sympathy for the blight of a miss treated chicken; therefore I cannot complain if the same thing happens to me. True we're humans and we can transcend nature, but there just isn't a better supplement to meat yet (I'm Allergic to Soy).

  • @lostinbravado Have you tried Seitan, a meat replacement, that is made from wheat-contained gluten (wich is mostly a side prduct of producing gluten-free products)? It's really taste-absorbant and high in protein. if nowhere else, Asian Supermarkets should have it (most likely canned), as it was invented by asian monks.

  • Comment removed

  • i love the applause at the end

  • Brutal =S

  • those people looking in shock made me laugh this is how i thought it was done sort of like killing the family chicken for food (raised decent and killed quick) but those other videos show different so...

  • Did he really have to hang it up in front of everyone to do that? I now hate Jamie Oliver more than i did 1 minute ago!

  • This is actually pretty alright. I don't like animal torture or anything like that, but as he said "I am a chef, and I eat chicken." this happens all the time, and it's usually worse than this.

  • @mattisprettycool What does he mean "it's usually worse than this"? Does it mean that, on TV everything is executed humanely, but when the cameras are absent there is lots of suffering? It is guaranteed that, for the most of the time the cameras are absent. Right!? So what do you mean?

  • jesus..

  • YOU BASTARD. EVERYBODY, GO VEGAN

  • why the hell do so many people try to make me and others feel guilty about eating cheap chicken? it's an animal which is bred to produce food, whether that be by producing eggs or providing meat. Why should i have to sacrifice more of my hard earned money just so that an animal which will die regardless of what i do can have a good life?

  • How cruel....But I understand, what he tries to say!

Maybe a little rough, but that's how it happen in every second at every day on this world...I Like meat, but seeing documentations about the states most slaughterhouses these days exhibit....that makes me really mad...!

  • it is note just the tast of meat why humans kill animals it is also becaus our bodies need meat we aint rabbits and it is prooven that we and pigs and a couple other species need meed not like a cow who has a far better digesting system and can break plants up to use all of it human can´t do that thats why we need meat

  • I'd laugh if a load of highly intelligent aliens came to earth and treated the human race how we do less intelligent creatures.

Throwing us in slaughter houses, killing us at will(ethically of course lol) because they happen to enjoy the taste of our flesh. While arrogantly joking amongst themselfs about the circle of life.

Fortunately we don't have to worry about that, an intelligent alien race wouldn't kill another being because they LIKED the taste of it. That'd be profound.

  • I'm sorry Jamie - what you presented was a "idealistic" way chickens should be slaughtered.

In actual slaughterhouses chickens are hardly ever actually stunned, meaning their slaughter is painful and very drawn out.

  • All those people look so horrified... when this is actually very humane

You should look at videos from KFC slaughterhouses if you think this is cruel

  • poor fucking chicken

  • poor chicked got heavy shocked

  • mmmm Delicious.

  • I'm hungry for chicken now...

  • Poor chicken.

  • i would crush there whole damn brain for not even a speck of pain

  • indeed

  • These are not natural chickens, they are manufactured. Look at a junglefowl - they don't look like these.

Factory farming = cruelty. Stunning before killing does not undo a life of suffering in a battery farm.

Humans to eat animals - it's in the way that you do it. Why gain satisfaction from suffering?

  • im a chicken owner (for eggs) and i love my babies to death but i also eat chicken only if its free range and dint go through any pain at all i am shocked by this footage but being a chef i have to understand how these things are done

p.s veggies arnt that bad its the vegans u have to worry about

if i had my way i'de have them put on a firing line and have then shot ONE BY FUCKING ONE

  • When you think about it though - in nature, this animal would be slaughtered quite cruelly by predators. Biologically, we are designed to eat meat, we're animals too - but what sets us apart is how we treat the animals. It's stunned, it doesn't feel pain.

  • The bird is unconscious! You can't register pain if you're unconscious! Why? You can't feel pain if you're unconscious because your goddamn brain is not active in the regions necessary to turn the chemical signal into what we call PAIN. Don't believe me? Go knock yourself out, have a friend punch you in the fucking face, and see if you felt the pain during your unconsciousness. You won't. Sure, you'll feel it when you wake up, but you can't if you are DEAD.

  • ohhh so sensitive, and u use the F' word too little monkey!

  • chicken* << :P

  • the most humane way is to behead. but they dont want to do it that way when they have thousands to do. sickening.

  • if this is bad, then u should watch what kfc does to chickens

  • Do you think you would like to be treated this way. Still alive, feeling pain?

Regardless of being a Vego/vegan or omnivore this is UNACCEPTABLE!

Your a stupid ignorant fool. The real issue is the process of slaughter, the procedure. Do you truley feel this is PAINLESS & HUMANE? If you do then I think your 1 chromosome away from being a monkey scratching your own ass and picking fleas off your girlfriend!

  • then please you suggest us the way to do it!!

  • Don't do it, because you don't need to.

  • NO ITS NOT YOU SPEAK ABSOLOUTE BULL**** MOST OF US EAT CHICKENS AND IF WE NEVER KILLED OR ATE ANIMALS THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE OVER FARMED AND YOU WOULD STILL BE BARTERING U STUPID FOOL ITS DEAD BEFORE HE FEELS THE PAIN, THUS MAKING HIM THE CHICKEN NOT REMEMBER SO UR THE MONKEY PICKING ITS ASS!

and besides ur discriminating monkeys after saying killing this chicked was not humane so shut up!

  • bartering? what the hell are u talking about Monkey? We are already over farmed so wake up and smell the bananas! Its not Humane so EVOLVE ALREADY MONKEY!

  • I have no words...you stuck up, pretentious...EUGH!

  • I'm reading some of the comments here and realise why Gordon Ramsay hates vegetarians. They demand respect but try to make us feel guilty for eating meat, even if it's killed humanly.

You people need a good kick up the ass, we are OMNIVORES for fuck's sake.

  • stab in the mouth ouch. poor chicken. but I like to eat chicken. confusing lol.

  • If you people had any compassion you would eat LIVE CHICKENS instead of killing the poor things first.

  • @feline1973 Dude...being eaten alive would be agonising, are you insane?!

(I'm not a veggy, before you ask)
