The best thing the United States and any other western nation can do for Africa is staying out of the internal politics and affairs of the African nation states. Half the waters in Africa are either caused or fueled by the involvement of western governments and the involvement of their multinational corporations. Do Africa a favor, stay out of it because if you (Western governments) truly cared, you would have stopped the Rwandan genocide or you have done somethin about the situation in Somalia.

The problem is that those in Africa who feel they have opportunity use that opportunity to move away to other countries which are more fortunate, such as the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, or the United States. People in the United States have little urge to go to Africa for any reason but to help them and for other humanitarian purposes. Tourism, exports, etc. are problems that will take a long time to fix in Africa. And people arguing about Obama/his policies, how is that related?
