Arab christian using this word for God. so does muslim, muslim also worship God.. but the different is muslim did not worship jesus because he is not god,jesus is the prophet of God. muslim worship only God.The one who created jesus and All prophet.Allaah/God is above the heaven, we cannot see Allah/God in any shape in this world. muslim must do good deed to see God in the heaven.

@ThaFamzz .......im a mix of Christian and Wiccan. so the notion of Mother Earth being like the partner of the Creator=Allah, comes from the bits of the old beliefs overlapped by the new Christianity. in the original belief, the Dagda=the sun, was husband of Danu=mother earth. only as a union could life be created! a flower does not exist or make more seeds without rain and sun! :)

@ThaFamzz ...ps: this what happened. in around 4th century AD, Christians come to Ireland. most important one is St. Padraigh from Wales. he was once slave in Ireland, then he escape. but anger did not consume him. so he come back to talk of the new god! and since pagans already believed in an all powerful Father God,(the Dagda!), they accepted the new Christian idea! thats why even today, the old way is just under the surface! :)

Christianity, especially in Ireland, overlapped the old beliefs and so preserved these original beliefs from the time even before the Druids! a Druid was like an Imam! they officiated all religious occassions. = births, marriages, deaths, festivals, and even recorded tribal histories! but they did sacrifices too. im glad the Christians banned these sad sacrifices.

Muslims do not worship the dark one, we come to Allah (God) in arabic just like christians pray to be protected from the dark one. If you went to any country that is arabic speaking, christian church also say Allah..it is language..just a different language. We all worship and praise THE CREATOR, just by different name in different languages.

With regards to christians, I do not think they worship the idols, they are just pictures and statues representing God to them, as for saints..they ask saints for help, like they do the angels. JMHO...just a thought..but religion is very interesting is you study it.
