What these people don't talk about as to why legalization failed in California, is because it is essentially already legal there because of medicalization, and there is a HUGE economy related to that. And a large proportion of the California population is dependent on the medical marijuana economy. Legalization would have strongly hurt the medical marijuana economy, the profits many dispensaries make.

Fear was used BY potheads/sellers AGAINST legalization to imply it was a "government takeover".
