@RockTheSymphony This is the pilot so it's not really the first episode. I mean it is but the pilot is kind of like the tester episode of every new show. They test camera angles, characters, back story etc. and see how the audience responds. If you've noticed, the relationship dynamic between Mr. Sheffield and C.C. changes drastically between this episode and the true first episode. By making a pilot, the producers/writers/directors can make any needed changes early on.

If it's one thing I loved about this series, it's how Niles is meant to be this prim and proper English butler, and yet he's so...uncultured and loose at times with all his little snide remarks. Just adds to the comedy.

I love this series though because I feel like it evolves. Her character started so "young," but grew up and became more sophisticated as she lived there longer. Plus, pilots are always a little different. This one is actually pretty true to the rest of the series.  Fran, acts a bit different, but everyone else is pretty spot on. In the end, she was trying so hard to be fit in since she married him. I think it gets more in a groove, once she starts arguing with Mr. Sheffield about Maggie.

Wow, as the seasons went on, Fran's voice got deeper and her hair got smaller, and makeup was less dramatic; it's weird to just finish watching the 6th season and spot all these differences!

i think its interesting that in the beginning miss fine has a higher-pitched voice and quirkier personality, and in the later seasons she has a deeper, more normal voice and is more and more like the real person fran drescher.............if that makes sense? also, her character is almost kinder in the beginning than in the later seasons............i wonder if fran was feeling so bad physically that the character changed?

I Love The Nanny. Lucille Ball would have delighted in Fran Dresher. I love watching Fran Dresher in anything she stars. There are so many Nanny favorites..it's hard to choose just one. But I did love her in "where's the pearls" with Liz Taylor and "smoke gets in your lies". That New York/Jewsish accent is the BOMB.
