I don't get it how the idea of bathing a cat can come to ones mind. Cats clean themselves all day long. A healthy cat is scentless. In case your cat once starts to smell it suffers from dental calculus. Then go to the vet! Bathing a cat can cause serious skin problems, especially when you use shampoo and such shit.

Relax, all cats need to be washed at some point, otherwise they get very dirty and their own washing habits no longer help.

All this cat is doing is complaining, mine does that at the slightest provocation. You wouldn't leave a child unwashed because it was whining in the tub, would you? And since you seem to be interested in animal rights, you wouldn't treat a cat as more lowly than a child, would you?

It's not necessary nor sensible to wash a cat. Especially a probable indoor cat like this chincilla (or persian). Cats are known to be the most clean animals throughout the globe and unlike dogs they don't need to be washed by others. Cats can keep themselves very neat and clean by only licking their fur. I've been living with my own house cat for more than five years and have never washed her once. Never needed to do it.

If you MUST wash him/her, use a special dry foam that can be found in any petstore. You foam the animal while petting it and save the torturing and wet bath session.

I'm sorry, I've tried looking in all kinds of petstores near my house and they don't supply such a foam. Personally I've looked for alternatives since my cat has a waterproof-type coat, which makes it difficult to wash with just water. Not to mention paint doesn't wash off easily.

Wouldn't the chemicals from the dry foam bother the cat? It seems the scent would. And how would the foam come out? After running the dry foam through her fur, there must be chemicals that stay in her fur.
