When one is violent the other has to protect herself and her loved ones. That is the priority. When both are peaceful at least physically, then they can talk through showing respect for each other by listening, that is what The Dalai Lama is talking about. Buddhism in general believes in total non violence. I personally believe in self defense.

Before Tibet liberated in 1950s, it's theocracy. The people have no human rights under the rule of Dalai Lama. If you are interesting in Tibet, you'd better read history book about Tibet.
I agree with everything the Dalai Lama said. Compassion and tolerance is the key to true happiness. I actually just saw him on a documentary called “Discover the Gift” where he talked about his philosophy of life. Overall, I found the film to be pretty motivating.

@desasterz Then what is your solution to the problems? Violence? Revenge? The only path to finding balance is respect when both sides are not violent. When one is violent the other has to protect herself and her loved ones. That is the priority. When both are peaceful at least physically, then they can talk through showing respect for each other by listening, that is what The Dalai Lama is talking about. Buddhism in general believes in total non violence. I personally believe in self defense.

It is outright hypocritical to suggest Dalai allows "freedom of speech". How can free speech exist when there is a demi-god telling you what to think? Well, Dorje Sugden people?

I agree with everything the Dalai Lama said. Compassion and tolerance is the key to true happiness. I actually just saw him on a documentary called “Discover the Gift” where he talked about his philosophy of life. Overall, I found the film to be pretty motivating.

@oneviwatara Well I don't wish that humanity resolves all its problems.Yes they have, they failed to adapt. For all the bad karma we whites have collected we should be in Africa's situation and not indulging in hedonism 24/7. So it seams that's not it.
The same way, the Vietnamese fought the US, or the S.Koreans.

@oneviwatara I think I know a little about Buddhism,and Dalai may know much more.But people do not always do what they said.And in my eyes,this guy,Dalai Lama is such kind of person who talks about compassion and respect,but show no respect to Tibetan people.Do you know that before he left Tibeta how many slaves did he have.

@oneviwatara First，I wolud like to say I do respect Buddhism，I attended some lectures before and I read Diamond Sutra，Maha Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra，Tanjing（a Chinese buddhist literature ）and other Books.I never denied the messages Buddhism delivered.
It is easy to get the information that Dalai is a big slave owner.YOU can go to local library or Google it.Even on Youtube.com u can find a lot of videos about this.

@oneviwatara Where to begin...You are speeking of things done by the Catholic Church through the ages, and there are many more. Catholic's have had a big problem with not practicing Christianity EVER throughout their long history. They never killed millions or even hundreds of millions. There were not one hundred million people in all of the world at the time of the crusades. The Bible does not say to kill your neighbor if he works on Sunday, nor for any other reason.

Crusades wars have lasted over 700 yrs & was responsible million if not ten of millions people dead worldwide. What about the wars between Catholic & Protestan? What about the wars against Islam? @oneviwatara Also, there was no such day of the week called 'Sunday' back then. The Sabbath was celebrated on our Saturday. Jesus was a Jew. Jesus treated women with respect. Jesus told people not to pray as the heathen do, reciting the same words over and over. Jesus taught to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
