  • i think he can do better than this , bcos this beat and rhythm use YANNI all the time , we always expecting something new from A. R Rahama ,

  • Denzel Washington

  • WOW

  • Its amusing when these whiteys make fun of Indian accents while these morons cant pronounce one single Indian word correctly...

  • Tamil Proud !!

  • Great music. . .

  • Wonderful composition...but i actually made an observation....Listen to the Jai Ho song..between 8.58 and 9.00, rahman actually made a mistake...he started singing the wrong verse and stopped at once....

  • i feel the oboe sounds out of tune with the harmony...

  • wonder what the name of the song is?

  • @ilovecriss4ever Mausam and Escape ( OST Slumdog Millionaire )

  • @akashpaul21 dats de beauty of Indian Classical music man!!! IMMORTAL!

  • 'Jai ho' without Sukhwinder is lifeless.

  • The guy with Sitar looks like a Gay..

  • @thejaybansal Wow thanks for your insight into this music video. If him being gay had something to do with how well he plays, I wish more of the world was gay.

  • @momouelf Bravo!

  • That's how you can play a sitar ???

ME : BAmm Booom (Throw away my guitar)

    Maaaaa! i need a Sitar ... Pleeeease !

  • What many westerners don't know is the fact that Rahman has better compositions than Jai Ho. However, Slumdog Millionaire brought a simple man with music genius from Chennai into the limelight and that is why Jai Ho works on the global scene. I'm sure when the western hemisphere explores his music they'll be just as enchanted!!

  • BAD

  • 8:58 Jai..?

  • indian: "daanial"

    we ppl "wtf?

    western : "rukhmun"

ppl " dont care its not in our language "

this is wht the curse of we indians ...we want to copycat exactly wht west wants...even the fart ....but we forgot to remember one thing...Carlos Santana can give best in his guitar and ravi shankar could give best in sitar only...they are holding their guitar tight..but we lost ours...

  • @tamiltamilhere ,, very well said bro,, i hope u give ur effort in protecting our culture,, India is a very great country,, all those fools who get attracted to western culture will very soon realize..

  • Comment removed

  • Look at all those audiences constantly clapping. Europeans appreciate other culture and music more. If this was in US, everyone will stay dumb-founded. I see when they play Indian music in club even if it is just one song, everyone stop dancing and go out for a smoke. Tastless..

  • wow

  • This is genius !!!!

  • This song is like a deep, deep breath.

  • Rahman, i just cant take it how u can make back to back music like this..

    hats off to rahman

  • fist listen yanni's santorini(search in Youtube). This composition is a clear copy work of yanni's compositio. I don't know why such a great music director like rahman has done this.

  • @manupalasseri dont be soo stupid.. if u making an orchestra u will

hear like same.. its not copy.. it just same instrument...i can bet all the live orchestra

will use the same instrument.. huh2... think before say someting..

  • yo pense que rakhman era mujer jaja

  • A. R. RaKHman..... Is she retarded

  • i am blessed by god i could see this video on youtube....rahman is stunning

  • love it jai ho :)................

  • I heard In one of Rahman sir's interview that Mausam and Escape is his personal favourite.

  • 18 ppl thought there is a download button in YouTube... :D

  • Phenomenal & Unbelievable!

The sitar bits are impossible to play. On the original score, it could have been multiple takes and a lot of cut and pastes...but when this is performed live here in this concert, it is proven that its a magical performance by Gulrez Khan. No words can express the total magnitude of this concert. Hats off to every one involved in this and my complete and utmost admiration to AR Rahman for his excellence in creating this composition! God bless.

    From: New York-Raja

  • if he could have performed any song from Roja or Rang de Basanti thne i bet the audience would have appreciated more.

  • @gauravisrockstar right man

  • @gauravisrockstar Roja and his other early work are the best!

  • rahman..... quite a genius he is

  • to cute girl: he is not "rockman" like superman he-man, he is Rahman, Indian music hero

  • I love that sitar on Mausam and Escape. Gives me goosebumps :)

  • The host's introduction:

"...ladies & Gentlemen, give it up for India's two times Oscar winner for Slumdog Millionaire..."

Me: Feels proud as an INDIAN!!!

    " A. R. Rakhmun."

    Me: Wtf?

  • @PritamJaykar lol!

  • @PritamJaykar thats anne hathaway!

  • dreamly feeling

  • I think at around 8:58.. He messes up. Don't get me wrong. I love this song, but that bugged me. :P

  • @josephhaswings Good spot!

  • quite funny westerners (perform dance) wearing Indian dress and Indian singers and A.R.Rahman wearing western dress

  • Actually there're two songs; "Mausam and Escape" which is awesome, the best one from Slumdog Millionaire, - great edition with orchestra and sitar.

and "Jai Ho", which is the track he's 'globally' known for.

  • What the fuck she like swallowed his last name.

  • please watch A. R. Rahman - Instrumental Music - Taj Mahal.........

    watch?v=O4R0IS8LSo4

  • watch?v=1wes8tuaNJc

  • Did she just pronounce his name terribly wrong or was that my ears?

  • @3yearoldgenius ...looks like she tried to pronounce it (correctly) the arabic style. Remember, the "ah" of arabic sounds like "kh". For example, Mahmud Ahmedenijad is pronounced like "Makhmud" "Akhmedinijad". So likewise, Rahman was pronounced as Rakhman...

  • Why would he perform to jai ho? i mean its an amazing song, but he has so many other songs which are so much more better.

  • is it me or is this song completely EPIC

  • what language is the song jai ho he just performed?

  • @randomnessgurl46 - Hindi

  • @randomnessgurl46 hindi & urdu mix

  • Erm, who is A.R. RaQman?

  • Yep the guy on the sitar is AMAZING! Adn just the whole thing put together is breathtaking

  • amazing....really no words to express!!!!!

  • The concert was so much better than the Jai ho thing. Sitar guy is beyond godlike : O

  • @pravben.porki asshole ,get lost frm here n go to ur taliban bitch mothrs cunt .there is no hatred betwn indians,we all are one ppl.go suck ur daddy osma's dick .

  • THE No # 13.... for f'.,k sake..... what is going on with theese 13 un wanted criminals of THE WORLD

  • Tamil hating North Indians have a South Indian/ Tamil (A R.Rahman) popularizing their hindi song.

  • In many countries the H sound is pronouched as *kh* sound, guys, didn't you know that with Nouns there ARE no correct way of pronouncing. what is the fuss.... you cannot pronounce many names correctly (as you think there is a "correct way" for many ppl coming from China even famous ones, Did you knwo what is the real name of Jackie Chan?? :) get a life

  • ARR u r gr8 ... we indians r proud of u ....

  • blah, why Jai Ho when he has a million better songs

  • @AamirNBebofan yeah jai ho tune is really suckin partially inspired by mozart s symphony no 25?tune s not free flowin n fragmented n patchy but here d string section s really amazin

  • @AamirNBebofan Cause that's all white people know lol

  • @SocailQueen lol,true

  • @AamirNBebofan I understand ARR has tonnes of wonderful compositions, but the one that got his international fame was Jai Ho, which more people relate to than any of his regional language masterpieces. Reading comments from the superheavy "miracle worker" single video (vevo channel) would make us understand that he is recognized as the "Slumdog Millionaire" guy... I think its justified that he played this song.. anyways "mausam and escape" showcases his talent.

  • on sitar is the grateful asad khan

  • oh m sorry but at 8:59 the maestro just went wrong... please excuse me as m his one of the biggest fans, sorry my fellow fans.

  • i think she said AR ROCKMAN!!!! \m/

  • @ronydrocker

At least Anne Hathaway was trying to pronounce his name, unlike most of the other announcers who just call him "A. R. Ramen", which is a far worse pronunciation... not to mention that "A. R. Rockman" at least sounds cooler than some noodle dish.
