These cars are complete utter shit!!! The famous 1983 Nissan shit box term comes from this car, but they do last long, I had a black hatchback 1983 Datsun 200sx, it was the worst car I had ever driven, well actually it's still not as bad as the honda civic lol.
I LOVE these cars... I owned 2, an 82 white one, and an 82 silver one. Now, I own an 87 Nissan 200sx coupe, that only has 87,000 original miles, that I'll be restoring pretty soon. lol
My first car was an '82 200SX. Was much more fun to drive than the '80 Mustang 2.3L that I replaced it with.

I had a 83 200sx -- it was a good looking car, but no where near as fast or sporty as it looked.

haha Thanks! i LOVED the 80-1983 200SX ....few months ago i saw an 83 for sale that was mint! ...these were Great cars!
