Man, you just made my day! Awesome vid. It's the only way you can move the exhaust to the back on most cars. I thought it'd fill up the muffler in minutes, so I'm gonna do this right now. I got some chrome tips cut for the exhaust, it looks good coming out the back.
Ive done this before it looks awesome, but factually its very bad. I dont care how well you can tune a nitro engine there are still oils exiting the exhaust which will not travel back upwards through that tube you have traveling to the back so the exhaust fills up rapidly with excess fluids and soon enough engines gurgling lol. looks great but the only way to properly have a rear exhaust set up is to have the manifold on a downward angle to be able to spit out excess lubricants etc
do not put ur muffler facing up bcz the degree and oil will sit on the bottom and dry up and u will not get any fuel sukstion to your carb hurry up before ur engine blows and face your muffler to the side
lol 1 year and 30,000 views.......srry for not replying ive been busy with uni work and only just now decided to have a random look at my account vids... YES alot of people think this exhaust is pointless but it was pure messing about i did not expect to gain anything out of this.
i dreamed i did this to my lambo, but with a real car exhaust that i had shrunk and it sounded like a real car, some how it had gears too and i could sit on top of it and drive down the motorway. nice vid.
Sweet, looks good. Nice shell too. Increasing the diameter of the last pipe makes for a deeper note, but the thing is you have to go pretty large to get a awesome sound, trust me though it's sweet!
That will seriously decrease power. Because the pipe is facing upwards, the unburned oil will build up gradually in the exhaust and have nowhere to go. Liquid cannot travel upwards you know
aye thats what i thought but it still runs fine with the improvised stuff on.
seems too blow most of it out unless you drive it like a granny!
At the momement i have access to a 3D ABS plastic printer which will allow me to print prototype designs from a 3d cad platform like solid works which i use. This means that i could create a custom exhaust that will look the dogs bollocks, it also means i could create my own custom alloy wheels for it ^^
@TechPriest88 hey mate, i have done the same thing about a plastic tube from the exhaust to the rear of the car, it stops any shit from the exhuast from going onto the suspension and that, saves cleaning lol. but like u i had the exhaust facing upwards it run completly fine, but have taken it off cos it slightly restricts the power output :)
@jthornley12 You right the oil will have no where to go. The liquid will build up more and morewhich will eventually decreases power like u said. And build up. If it works for him eventually he will have to clean out the exhaust every now and then.
if you had actually read the replys below that i made to RCDrift you will notice that the first thing i said is that it
* doesnt affect the performance of the car in any way and simply makes it sound a bit quieter, plus the old engine had 1.5 hp and this has nearly 3 hp at 33,000 rpm, which is twice the power of the stock engine, so adding the weight didnt affect it in the slightest, =]
doesnt affect the performance but it does make it sound quieter cause the copper tube at the back acts like a secondary silencer, it would be simpler to add a pipe straight from the manifold but the orginal "tuned" pipe is important because it creates back pressure in the manifold from the pulses of exhaust gasses, because 2 stroke engines dont have valves the back pressure in the manifold stops the nitro vapour from simply exiting the combustion chamber via the exhaust before it is ignited
by the glow plug, this unfavourably leans the mixture because there is more air than fuel, it also stops the engine from being lubricated properly which will result in engine damage, this is why 2 stroke engines, mopeds, bikes, all have the cone like pipe bolted to them, the exhaust is a very important part of a 2 stroke engine.
because of these reasons i kept the tuned pipe on which kept the performance also, so it still goes like stink. ;]
thats what you would think but the exhaust gases dont seem to be hot enough to melt it, and it worked fine, plus its very good with chemicals like nitro fuel.
yeah, i dont, i use the rally tires cause it grips better and stops the car jumping around alot, the tires dont wear out that much either, point proved today, cause the new engine now makes it shread on road tires XD
cheers, thought id have a go at it cause it mainly stops all the fuel going down the side of the body shell. il put a vid up soon with it on some open ground, put a .18 engine in it to replace the old knackered one did 50 with the old engine, that had 1.2hp this one nearly has 2.2 so il probs lean it up a bit see what it can do with a bit of proper tuning aye get a vid of yours up too.
ay will do but mine looks shit lol i might get some tubing to make a rear exhaust like yours itl be well nice then... the only thing ive got is a rly nice deep sound... p.s il sub 2 u m8 i look forward to ur next vid :)
Looks good but your probably losing power

That does look preety kwl actully! Does it affect the performance by any chance?
Also you could try making an exaust that goes strait out the manifold!

it looks very cool but i'm afraid that in this way you're going to get the engine's exhaust full of oil :(

the plastic tube is clear pvc pipe, found it on the reel at a garden store nearby, its used when you install garden pond fountains ect,
