I had an S-Limited Eunos (red leather, bbs splits,etc) from 2000 to 2008. it was a great car, but I had to move on. I now have a 2004 Boxster S (black with the terracotta leather.) I think it's a great value for money sports car (totally different drive to the MX5.) When I see people diss it, who can't even spell it properly - it becomes slightly annoying.
and to call it cheap and to call it a woman's car is really missing the point of why the car exists and what its heritage is (roadster) and how the design and technology of the boxster was used in subsequent 911s which all came after the 986 in 1997 and in later years. the only thing the clio will be used for in years to come is scrap metal and to catch you tears when you get ass raped by all boxsters which destroy you on the tarmac. lol ;)
for your info, the clio v6 2nd hand price across europe (left hand drive) will cost you 30,000 euros for a decent model, I know, I owned one and secondly, my swiss friend had a boxster and didnt touch me. He sold it for a lot less than he bought it. Ha!

Second of all, you cant compare both cars. The Boxster is a common car and even if it becomes a classic it will not have the same impact than a Clio V6.
A clio v6 is a mini supercar. It sounds like it and drives like it. When the V6 came out on the market a lot of magazines compared the ClioV6 to a 911 and other supercars.
You can't instill class in people, motorists or otherwise...
V6 is the only good thing about the clio.

Aha another comparison I have some experience in, my brother has just traded his Clio 182 in. As a Boxster driver I am not going to slate it, in fact it's a fantastic car, quickest thing you could buy £ for £ at the time. However it's just not as quick as a Boxster, maybe an old 2.5 but not the latest 2.7 or 3.2/3.4. The Boxster is well known for having perfect weight distribution and magnificently controllable, the Clio is great as it is very easy to drive fast and shouldn't get u into trouble

I chose the colour by my usual boring way, bkue a silver as I always go for that whn choosing a car, it's 99% perfect, the only thing that i dont like about it is,,,,, its not loud enough. I think they sre bringing out a V12 next year!
I would never buy another porker as they dont treat you with any respect, Mercedes are the same too, I have now bought an A8 and also an R8 for the weekend, the A8 is diesel and is fantastic, the R8 is almost perfect. The Audi dealership is pretty good to and does everything I ask the to do.

You've got nearly everything wrong.
The Clio is far better looking by a factor of at least 4x.
They have identical top speeds and 0-60 times.
Price wise they cost virtually the same (Boxster was 2k more).
However I agree the Clio is much better and is a mans car, the Boxster was the first girls Porsche and is a poor mans 911.

First, the Boxster is a Boxster, its not the poor's man 911.
Second of all, you cant compare both cars. The Boxster is a common car and even if it becomes a classic it will not have the same impact than a Clio V6.
A clio v6 is a mini supercar. It sounds like it and drives like it. When the V6 came out on the market a lot of magazines compared the ClioV6 to a 911 and other supercars.

Aha another comparison I have some experience in, my brother has just traded his Clio 182 in. As a Boxster driver I am not going to slate it, in fact it's a fantastic car, quickest thing you could buy £ for £ at the time. However it's just not as quick as a Boxster, maybe an old 2.5 but not the latest 2.7 or 3.2/3.4. The Boxster is well known for having perfect weight distribution and magnificently controllable, the Clio is great as it is very easy to drive fast and shouldn't get u into trouble

I would never buy another porker as they dont treat you with any respect, Mercedes are the same too, I have now bought an A8 and also an R8 for the weekend, the A8 is diesel and is fantastic, the R8 is almost perfect. The Audi dealership is pretty good to and does everything I ask the to do.

I agree. Dealerships are hopeless - unless you live in Germany forget about 'quality' services with mechanics who know the vehicle thoroughly. Presumably those who bought in 1997 were more seriously effected by a lack of technical expertise during diagnostic testing and subsequent repairs.

I have had both cars and I must say the Boxster was a very good car, the dealership and the residual value let it down though.
The Clio was very shoddily built and much more fun, it was a 225 BHP version and very nice to drive.
I would not agree that the Boxster is for people who cant afford a 911, they are targeted at a different market.

As a boxster 3.4 s driver I can tell you: On a normal road you can have SL 55,M5 or R8: They have no chance to pass me. It´s not a question of personality or driving expirience!! Your standard thinking is a kind of pureness. You have to be honest to yourself: There is no better roadster(beside the Lotus Exige)to get. I drove a Cayman S a while back and wondered if a car could be more balanced, and if you'd ever need more power. Then I drove an R8 for a few days. Trust me, straight line it's not that fast, but you don't even need to brake...
