look my external harddrive promo, big discount

  • cheap camera lens and portable external hard drive

    clic on my profile

  • Yea... U kinda miss a step tap

It on your desk and it will disconnect maybe u want to put the other screws on the tray to keep the hard drive in place.

  • do you think I could use a direct tv hard drive with a

  • i need one that uses 3.5 ide but ill get it when i have the money for now w.e

  • I'm looking to take two external hard drives and put them into my tower. Which is the easy part for any computer person I mean duh even I understand that part. But now here's where it gets tricky, i use both external hard drives on a laptop as well, and BOTH NEED to be able to work with the tower and laptop. So while they work internally i also went them to work in an external fashion. One is this possible to do? Two, can you help me do this?

  • i must say it's good, but will it blend?

  • what if my hard drive is a Serie ATA hard drive? can I use an enclosure for SATA hard drives?

  • @mrvirus888 thats the same thing. the S in SATA stands for Serial

  • cool vid :)

  • srry and i was wondering does it matter how high the capacity of the SATA internal hard drive is to put into this enclosure?

  • i was wondering i was going to but the things needed but is it POWERED with usb or does it HAVE TO with power (AC to DC)

  • great video indeed

  • @Elycitpical only if your having sex with bad girls

  • @Elycitpical bad math is bad

  • @Elycitpical Therefore Health = Death :/

  • @UltimateGameriz NO, NO, Apple = Death

  • I NEED IDE

  • 43 people lost all their data

  • wow this was so dumb

  • oh well thank god it comes with a screw driver, ya know nobody has those

  • This is stupid. An internal HDD doesn't have any resistence to shock. You bump that thing, it's wiped. It's not a laptop HD that has components to shield it from vibration and shock. Waste of money.

  • i have a hard drive that is 1" tall. what size encloser does it need?

  • Bauer you forgot to screw the hard drive to the caddy before inserting it in the enclosure!!

  • @MrVideobuff1 look closely it's suppose to be like that look at that again and youll see there is no screw holes for screws.

  • @mkiol11 are you blind?? Off coarse there were holes for the screws.

  • @lancerevogolfmk1 uh huh because i guess that guy whos had much expierence forgot to put in a few scews '-.-

  • buying 1 is still beter cos u have more memory o it

  • hey av got an 500g External Hard Drive and it wont let me put a 1080p film file on it or any MKV film file over 7gig on it, anyone no why? or how to fix it? thanks

  • @dava4321 Your hardrive is a FAT32 partition which doesnt allow files over 4gb to be transferred to it. To transfer files to it you will need to format it to a NTFS partition.

  • i was wanting to get an external harddrive because i heard that it gives you more space...i wanted that becuase WoW is takeing up all my space with cataclysm and i want to play my other pc games like tf2 and such. so does a external hard drive give more space?BTW my pc isent bad its just my harddrive is so dam small

  • i got to my demo, external hard drive is still so cool =)

  • Or pick up a 2.5" sata drive and enclosure, more expensive but can fit in you pocket and can run from USB power (so no mains adapter necessary).

Good idea if you are upgrading a laptop HDD to pick up an enclosure for the old one.

  • wow seems way cheaper than buying one

  • Perfect.. exept for one word.. hotswapable's :]

  • it might be useful sometimes ...

  • Nice USB printer cable. Way to be different and old school.

  • help i have windows 7 and got a ide hd i just put in a case and it keeps disconecting sum 1 help

  • @stupidmonkey121 you can buy a ribbon cable extension for ribbon cables at most pc repair stores like compusa. you may wanna look into a sata drive better than adapter

  • it's fricking 40$

  • But thats not the point of buying an external harddrive is it?.. so its its on the outside?... its for space lots of it

  • I like your vid but you shoul say "SERIAL ATA" no sata

  • Trust me i have learned and you saved me money, thanks men!

  • It's actually not all that cheap when a good external enclosure usually costs 30-50 bucks, plus the cost of a hard drive. If you just have one laying around then why not just plug it in your case instead anyways.

  • @t3hsniper You can use a harddrive from an old laptop...

  • @j00jy That's assuming you have an old laptop laying around. I only use my external drive at my desktop except the one I was required to have for a class for college. Which is why I bought a WD green 1TB drive for storage to replace it and just put it inside my case. In the end, yes it is cheaper if you have the enclosure already or a hard drive already. Though you can usually get a better price just buying an external drive already built if you need both(If you look in the right places).

  • plz help me out, i have a western digital mybook essentials 500gb external harddrive and my usb port part broke.what do i need 2 do so i can use my external harddrive again?i dont know if i have to take parts off 2 use an enclosure kit.

  • Can You Add Me As A Friend.

  • CouncilHater2009 i can you tell me what i would need to start Recovering Data from any old harddrive what sort of tools or kit i need to buy for any harddrive old and reformat like what sort of tools IDE & SATA 2.5 or 3.5

as i want to make external harddrives for family and i have been given two old drives can you help and tell me what i would need to buy and if i can give back data to friends that have give me there harddrives if i can do it for them

  • WD MyBooks are great!

    Fast and quiet.

  • i cant find the Thermaltake ST0016U Silver River II Hard Drive Enclosure

  • I recently ordered an earlier version of item from tiger direct and it was tampered with already. Missing all the internal sata adapter cables. They sent me new cables and they didn't fit in the case. Now I have to send the whole thing back to get a replacement. =/

  • @oconano ha ha ha ha ha ha are you serious?!

  • i honestly don't understand the people who watch these videos and just bash on the guy. Hes doing a better fucking job than you will, seriously shut the fuck up. If you hate this guy so much then why would you decide to watch this video?

  • Nice review, BUT please clear your nostrils 2:26

  • @Kenjineering HAHAHAHAHA GROSS

  • "Super easy procedure, anybody can do it including you..." -Dumbass who is not including in the 'anybody' category.

  • ^HAHAHHA

  • This is a cool gadget!

  • @MrRepzion Very cool!

  • in my opinion this guy makes shit sem more complicated than it really is with his "reviews" and half the time itseems like he dont know wat he's talkinabout

  • Including noobs

  • Oh, come on guys, what is not to like?

It is an external HDD, so it wont burn inside the PC case.

    Am i missing something here?

No, really, i am no expert.

  • My complaints are that he didn't screw the harddrive to the rack (something I think is necessary) and didn't explain fully the different types of outputs (USB 2.0/USB 3.0/ E-SATA) and inputs (IDE/SATA I/SATA II) to people who don't understand them.

And the point of making an external isn't for heat issues (I've three HDDs in my case and all run fine without overheating), but for mobility. I like the ability of being able to take my 1TB external or 250GB 2.5" external anywhere I need to.

  • wow this was a point less video

  • you cant do it.. dum"·$%"·$%·"$%324.. forgot to screw the hard drive inside the case.. FAIL!

  • this product gives the worst protection ever to my internal hard drive. anyone who see this product on sell please IGNORE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if you give a 5 year old those parts + the HDD

it will take him 10 minuites to connect it properly

  • lol accidently clicked the red thumbs down....FOR EVERY ONE THATS SUPPOSEd TO BE A THUMBS UP!

  • what happened to the side screws to secure the hard drive to the tray!?

  • hes so good he doesnt neeed them..(or so he thinks)

  • I always screw mine into the enclosure rack... Both of my enclosure cases have a bit of extra room at the end and without screwing the HDD in it could slide out enough to break the connection with the connectors.

  • yeah...thats what i was wondering. Aint no way im risking my HDD in that thing if the only thing securing it is the power and sata connection

  • i've been wanting to do this, but i thought it was impossible..

  • LIke im gonna waste my time making a super giant hand made Hard drive? Should i make it as a gift for a geeky girl for Valentine huh?

  • he missed a step... ur suppose to put screws on the side of the HDD

  • LOL they didn't shot the ac adapter

  • that's because it will make dumb-asses think they don't need one

  • I don't know why I'm still subbed to these mutha fuckers...

  • tigerdirect used to be cool

  • yeah no hardware reviews any more in a couple of months they will start reviewing toilet seats.

  • He forgot to put the HDD screws into the drive. Failure waiting to happen.

  • LOL

  • Don't need one of those yet. Thanks

  • did they need to do a video for this??!!

  • Great video!

  • why isnt it usb 3?

  • @getlow1985

We wont see that for a little while. We may have the motherboards for it, but its going to take a bit for the other hardware to catch on.

  • iv already seen hdds with it

  • it is

  • LMAO that won't work, the drive requires a 4pin molex

  • Comment removed

  • i think u should have screwed the hard drive in the tray.

  • hey Bauer.. nice shirt pockets

    hehe

  • LOL, didnt see that until i saw your comment

  • I still use IDE drives, does this make me seem like a caveman?

  • you caveman I Human I Smart I Fast Computer At Home

  • so more poeple can view this video

  • 'probably dont even need the video'

or your entire channel for that matter.

  • hahaaha ... create a HDD ;) ... you got the Wrong TITLE TigerDirect !!! ... so sad

  • How To: "Create" an External Hard Drive ... lol ... this is not the Make Magazine ;) ... OMG ;P

  • this is bullshit. this is not how to "Create an External Hard Drive". You tell the dump ppl how to put you internal HDD in a case. It's like "How to make your own bubblegum, Go out and buy a gum and put it in your mouth"... fkn bullshit!

  • @DahKeyLogger so you were actaully expecting them to tell you how to create a hard drive by hands? o.O

i never think i could do that.

  • No, but they missinform ppl that don't know much about IT. /facepalm

  • Thanks for telling me how to create bubblegum!!!

  • LOL he forgot to put the screw on the harddrive 2:20

  • Comment removed

  • that is because:

    1. Its a lot faster.

and 2. you don't need to with that enclosure, hence the tight fit

  • Right, when traveling and that case vibrate, HDD will be damaged.

  • i dont think it would be moving much.

  • Its just a tutorial video, I'm sure anyone who gets it would probably realise you can put a screw in there...

  • @IronServant351 yeah this hard drive is moved around too much will be bouncing around inside....

  • So need this

  • heh funny, i justbought a 1tb hard drive

  • what happened to logan?

  • haha haven't seen a "what happened to Logan" comment in a long time. he quit, like a long time ago, sadly ;/

  • do you have to format a new hard drive ?

  • @CSIS25

Sometimes it comes with preinstalled drivers/software, so it is recommended

  • ohhhhh thanks !! not sure why we got thumbs down though :S

  • omg hahah i can buy 500 bigabytes external hard drive in that case for only 75 $

  • LOLWUT?

    bigabytes?

yeah 500 gigabytes would be cool

  • @000CODE000 Excuses me, bigabytes?

  • 1st!

  • Pretty cool.

  • its not expensiver !!!

  • I love how they never tell you the price LOL

  • @mshsz yea, i noticed that too :P

  • @mshsz they're not allowed to

  • lol sounds like a waste of money. pass

  • slick

  • solid state drives rule

  • In my external hard drive i only have IDE? how would it that work if its only ESATA?

  • What would be faster to use USB or ESATA?

  • @GMODCREATOR ESATA by a hell of a lot

  • @GMODCREATOR

    ESATA

  • @GMODCREATOR e sata
