The fish is quite harsh but really i dont see why the snake preparation is any worse than chicken or beef. As soon you its head goes, its dead. And even if its not, the part that they boil and cook is detached from its pain receptors so i see it as humane as any other type of meat
The thing is, the snake doesn't die after the head is chopped off. The snake is suffering from the first cut the until it finally dies. Which takes quite a long time since reptiles have a slow metabolism, the animal can survive for quite some time without the body.

Yes it's strange to see animals move while being eaten. But does no one know what happens in U.S. slaughter houses? are you retarded? the first thing they did was cut off the head, the thing that actually percieves any pain there may be. the torso is just nerve synapses firing and muscle spasms. you cant suffer if your head isnt attached to the flesh being butchered. at best, this is just normal humane butchering, they just do it fast so theres still some oxygen and sugar in the muscle cell vacuoles.
Snakes are cold blooded animals, so unlike humans, chopping the head off does NOT result in instant death. The head is perceiving pain the entire time.
uhh...what does cold blooded or warm blooded have to do with it? its a trait shared by all vertebrates, sever the spine, you cant feel anything that is past it. and to all things with circulatory systems, no oxygen or blood at all for that matter means quick cellular asphyxiation. so unless your talking about cetaceans which can store worthwhile amounts of oxygen in muscle tissue, its a painless dead. even if its not dead yet, it has the same effect as your leg falling asleep.
If you knew anything about biology you would know. Since cold blooded animals have a much slower metabolism then warm blooded animals, the oxygen is not used up as quickly, therefore not resulting in instant death. The animal is still perceiving pain where its head was chopped off. There has even been reports, by reptile keepers that have attempted to euthanize their reptile in this way, that the head would actually bite the person. This proves full consciousness during it.

The fish is quite harsh but really i dont see why the snake preparation is any worse than chicken or beef. As soon you its head goes, its dead. And even if its not, the part that they boil and cook is detached from its pain receptors so i see it as humane as any other type of meat

The thing is, the snake doesn't die after the head is chopped off. The snake is suffering from the first cut the until it finally dies. Which takes quite a long time since reptiles have a slow metabolism, the animal can survive for quite some time without the body.

Yes it's strange to see animals move while being eaten. But does no one know what happens in U.S. slaughter houses? Only because the meat is nice and packaged when you see it in the grocery store doesn't mean it didn't experience bad things. I think the more we separate ourselves from the life of the animal the more we choose to just "throw away the rest of that chicken sandwich". Or people taking a bite of their steak and saying "oh I wasn't that hungry"

are you retarded? the first thing they did was cut off the head, the thing that actually percieves any pain there may be. the torso is just nerve synapses firing and muscle spasms. you cant suffer if your head isnt attached to the flesh being butchered. at best, this is just normal humane butchering, they just do it fast so theres still some oxygen and sugar in the muscle cell vacuoles.

Snakes are cold blooded animals, so unlike humans, chopping the head off does NOT result in instant death. The head is perceiving pain the entire time.

uhh...what does cold blooded or warm blooded have to do with it? its a trait shared by all vertebrates, sever the spine, you cant feel anything that is past it. and to all things with circulatory systems, no oxygen or blood at all for that matter means quick cellular asphyxiation. so unless your talking about cetaceans which can store worthwhile amounts of oxygen in muscle tissue, its a painless dead. even if its not dead yet, it has the same effect as your leg falling asleep.

If you knew anything about biology you would know. Since cold blooded animals have a much slower metabolism then warm blooded animals, the oxygen is not used up as quickly, therefore not resulting in instant death. The animal is still perceiving pain where its head was chopped off. There has even been reports, by reptile keepers that have attempted to euthanize their reptile in this way, that the head would actually bite the person. This proves full consciousness during it.

that is actually a good argument for JUST cutting off the head, which i know they did so yes the snake probably suffered. BUT, i would perfer then that the butcher have a stunner ready to destroy the brain, where any pain is comprehended. if the snake doesnt have a brain, it cant feel pain. in the case of this competition, his should be done with the head once removed, assistants should be there to handle dispatching the heads and making sure it penetrates throughly through the cranium.
