So, revelation?- Apparently G. Micheal didn't invent the concept of using gorgeous models in a classy way for music videos, like Freedom & Too Funky. Like myself, either Bel Some or the director got of right with a preference for brunettes. Turning the art of music into a video that's art itself.
The digital remastered version of this mix (Dance Vocal) is available on the CD Retro:Active7 - Rare & Remixed. Justin Strauss and Murry Elias(the remixers) mention in the credit notes how they thought the vocal delivery was kind of New Order-ish and Bizarre Love Triangle was dominating the clubs so they tried to bring that sound to the remix..
the more I look at Neville and BS music, they seemed more German in sound and looks than British..just my 2 cents :) regardless still awesome and unique even to this day. great remix something the 80's were very good at!!
one of my ever fave song of the '80s... to all the souls of 80s i know how you feel because those were the days that keeps haunting us up to today ... brings me back the feeling of true love
i am still stuck in the 80's !! at 40 years old, i am not trying to impressed anybody, but i have to say its more important for me that my peers are with me and we have the same passion as we did when we were 17 or 8 years old when we really live thru the mighty 80s peace. awesome track. thank God i was there when it was release :)
i mean 18 years old :) anyways its late and i am drunk :) i love the 80s.. it was so special and anything was possible!! what happened to this wonderful nation???
I am 46 & still listen to all my 80's CDs like always & the music has not been better. Same passion as when I was in College. I still search out other 80's artists to find new music. Awesome tune
@lacviet your passionate words bring tears to my old soul. I will forever remember the 80's. it shape me and my generation. there will never be another decade like it!! its almost magical and unreal how we actually live and made it thru those awe inspriring times!!
I've loved Belouis Some's music since I bought the CD this was on in 1987. I loved the album version of "Animal Magic" but this remix is fantastic. The B-side to the 12" single has a previously unreleased version of "Aware of You" from his first album, "Some People". I've often felt his voice just exudes sex. So does this song.
lupeeeeeeet !!!!kabit na kabit sa "Bizare", in short great mix with New Order "Bizare Love Triangle", '85, '86, '87, '88, '89 mobile party, though never had a chance to have a Cerwin-Vega, Bose or JBL you can't still buy back those days...
!!! the girl that you see dancing in slowmotion in the video is i believe the video of Jill Jones, a former Prince protege whos scored a hit with Mia Bocca
I do believe this remix is superior to the orignal version! I always loved Neville Keighley and his chic euro-disco tunes... I wonder whatever happened to Belouis Some?
Neville Keighley, aka Belouis Some. one of the most talented artist in the 80s. a pioneer in modern rock/new wave/electronic music. this song with "some people" defined the Euro dance genre at that time. it sounds great today as it did over 20 years ago. simply beautiful and amazing!!
thanks for posting this. i haven't heard this song or seen the video in AGES!!!!!!!I used to own the cassette tape but it didn't include this version.
OMG-same here-miss that place!! too bad it is gone!! I came out at Tracks-had my first drink there- loved Thursday nights!!! The Smiths, Siouxsie, Depeche Mode...I lived for Thursdays!! Hard to believe it was almost 21 years ago....
Alright doomer68. Nice to hear from a fellow Tracks patron. I was more the Friday nights generation that graduated to Saturday nights then downhill from there-LOL. Same here-first everything at good 'ol Tracks DC. Remember co owner Regee? Ed Bailey-DJ? That damn volley ball area? I kinda regret not coming down for its last night. Thanks for the memories.
I was just in the Tracks Tampa building this past weekend for a huge party associated with the G&L Film Festival (Clip). It is now called Czar, but the 3 main rooms are still recognizable. The west end of Ybor City is making a comeback.
Thank you SO much for posting this. Can anyone please email me with where I can buy Belouis Some MP3's or CD's (except Imagination which is easy to find). All I can find is vinyl out there... All hail at the altar that is Neville!

So what. All I listen to is 80s music, especially Italo Disco. It's the best era for music. Happy electronic tunes.

@lacviet You are so right. There was an honesty in the music back then which I think is missing now. Now it's about "what will sell, what will sell?!"
