They attack more people in Africa than lions do. One bite from a hippo can snap a crocodile in half. It also has a body too bulky and skin too thick for the shark to penetrate, and hippos are ten times the size of bull sharks. I can think of few animals that I believe would beat one on land or water. Humans are easy; hippos aren't.

I'm just saying that aggression isn't really much of an advantage; it can actually be a weakness if the aggressor's opponent has great intelligence. But since both of the animals were very aggressive species(and neither was the sharpest horn on the rhino's head), the aggression factor sort of canceled itself out. Since the Zambezi is full of hippos and Nile crocodiles, it just might be better for the sharks to stay away in my opinion.:)
