I was hit by a car about a year and a half ago, and the doctors at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT thought that it was funny and refused to treat me, not even a scan to see if anything was broken (which several things were).
Stationed (exiled) in connecticut, you hear a lot of stories in the news of hit and run fatalities, and how the jerks here prefer to stand and gawk instead of helping.
When my dad fell with his bicycle everyone came to him immediately and called 911. WTF is wrong with these people. It's probably a rich neighbourhood. Why did they fucking KILL him. These drivers must get a trial for MURDER!!! >(

First off, the cop car that showed up was for another call, not the old man who was hit.
Secondly, it's in human nature to at least run up to the guy and check to see if he's still moving. Check to see if he is still alive. And then CALL an ambulance for the poor man!
I mean, people just drove by like they could give two shits about him. How would you like it if the same happened to you? People just left you there, completely careless as to weather you are okay or not? It's messed up!!
Another thing I'd like to add, no one called 911! I watched the news report of this video. Proof that no one called it. They just stood around and stared at the guy.
also many people don't act like they say they would in certain situations. I've heard many stories of people who were considered most likely to act a certain way in certain situations, but do the complete opposite when it does happen. the human mind is fascinating, if not disturbing sometimes
in my psych class we learned how its human nature to ignore things if others are ignoring it, and we won't make a big deal if no one else seems to be. there are many instances of this in history, people killed, beaten to death, in front of witnesses. There was also a lady who hung herself from a lampost or sumthing, on halloween, and no one even called for help until 2 weeks later (the body just hung there for 2 weeks).
