Idiots, Mac is short for Macintosh which is the operating system apple uses in it's PC's (personal computers). MAC is Media Access Control which has nothing to do with the operating system and every networked device (be it Microsoft, Macintosh, Linux or anything else) has a unique one.

@QueenofPancakes5260 How are they going way too far? They are innovative and I'm happy to see a proprietary manufacturer be so successful. The fact that Apple selects specific hardware and creates software to increase performance is awesome. Unlike windows where you can throw a copy on just any machine, it's not tuned to perfection like Apple products are. Let's face it, Apple looks for quality where M$ looks for quantity. Apple has much better battery life! My Evo sucks compared to iphone 4gs.

@AJFedora Well... coming from a Winblows user, Linux user, and a Mac / Unix user... I would have to say that I have the least issues with Mac. At least things work rather than having to rebuild / compile to get things working on Linux all the time. Linux makes great servers (much better than M$) however as a desktop solution, theres programs I need to run that I can't run natively on Linux. VM's is a waste of resource in order to run the programs I need. So Mac is a better desktop.

Sure the linux can code and whatnot, but i'd prefer a pretty little machine that could handle all my basic task without giving me the finger because i did something it didn't like! People don't like change therefore they never learn to adapt and concur even the most miniscule changes in life. I use 3 different operating systems on a daily base. Windows 7, OSX Lion, and Ubuntu. Most people will stick to one rather than learning other systems. People who can adapt will go farther in life than those who can't adapt...
