For everyone questioning the efficiency of jiu-jitsu on the street let me say this. What you see here is SPORT JIU-JITSU, not fighting jiu-jitsu!!!!! Fighting jiu-jitsu is all about getting the takedown, mount, then beating the crap out of your opponent until he turns thus giving you a choke. Sport jiu-jitsu is exactly what it is, a sport.

But, for the street, an approach based on taking someone to the ground could prove disadvantageous (for reasons I have already pointed out). if we think about the same moment, it's not meant to show he's relaxed. the purpose is not to let the opponent grab his hand. as for MMA fighters, they're (on average) worse punchers than "pure" punchers and worse grapplers than "pure" grapplers, and it's pretty obvious. you can't excel at several fields at once. narrow specialists are also needed.
