  • Okay, I've been crocheting for about 20 years now and if my Ma-Maw (the one who taught me originally) weren't deceased, I would have just had her teach me this. I'm completely confused. The video is so grainy and blurry that I can't see what you're doing half the time and you go so fast I can't keep up! I lost you after "now I'm going to work with my first chain"... I'm so annoyed because I keep rewinding it but still can't figure it out!!!!! You seem very knowledgeable and talented and I wish

  • Thank you again.. I find that if I do not use a stitch for a while I forget until I see it and then I remember. I just made my daughter a tiara for her birthday on Sunday! :) Thanks again for all of your amazing help!

  • Can you do two rows of shells and then a regular single or double stitch? How would I do that?

  • @614meg You can alternate rows of stitches. I do have a tutorial on my main channel called Crochet Shell Variation 4

  • Great video, none of the other videos i've seen did a second row for the shell stitch and i was kinda blank as to how to do the second row. So thank u!!!!! I have a question: I am making a blanket and i used dbl dtitches but am adding the shell stitch in the middle. after i complete the shell pattern do i keep dbl stitching in each dbl stitch of the shellto get back to my normal dbl stitch pattern? Hope this question makes sense.

  • another great video,so simple to follow, thank you so much

  • You were too fast for me. I guess this is not for beginners. However thank you for sharing, at-least I will know where to go when I'm ready.

  • What a great teacher you are, thanks for posting this. Including slow motion, it's genius :)

  • I'd like to figure out how to change color from row to row on this. I suck at color change. But I have some red & black yarn I'd like to make a blanket with in this stitch.

  • Great video, thank you so much!

  • @enabee You are welcome.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I'm a monkey-see monkey-do learner, and you are an excellent teacher. Thank you so much

  • I just recently picked up a crochet needle and yarn after thirty eight years! I still remember the basic single, double and triple stitches! I SOOOO AGREE WITH YOU! I prefer to do a single chain stitch to step up rather than the 3 chain stitches for the same reason; aleviates holes! Thank you for confirming it is okay do do a single stitch to step up! I have always used a single chain to step up rather than a triple chain! You are awesome! AWESOME!

  • I love love your tutorials :D your awesome, thanks!!

  • @ElbaVita You are welcome. ;)

  • I really love this pattern , thank you for posting it.!! I have been a knitter all my life, and I have wanted to crochet a cardigan for my daughter using this pattern, however I don't know how to increase or decrease , to give the cardigan shape. Any ideas???

  • @Cristina6537 I do have a crochet shell cap on my main channel that show increasing. Decreasing will be working a couple of double crochet instead of the whole shell. You can modify the amount to what looks the best. When you come back around, you may want to work in the top of the previous stitch so you do not end up with big ridges. The shell can leave some uneven edges.

  • Is there away to have the wavy shell pattern to be at the bottom of the blanket?

  • How large is your yarn and hook collection? Make a video if you can! :)

  • This is wonderful. I am sitting with my yarn, hook, and finger paused over the pause button learning something my mother never had the patience to teach me.

  • @mommydaddyyouandi1 I am thrilled that you are learning!

  • Very easy to follow, thanks! :-)

  • Hello, I would like to use this stitch to create a more open pattern. I think it would work it I made my shells on top of each other rather than in between each other. For that change, my first row would be as shown here. But then, to put my single crochet's on top of each other and my shells on top of each other how do I make the edges and turn the work? Could you please make a video of that shell pattern? Thank you.

  • thank you for the info

  • I love your tutorial. They are so easy to follow.

could you tell me where I could purchase the pencil grip that you use in the video.

    Thank you

    Lorraine

  • @lieutenant0360 The pencil grips can be purchased from Walmart

  • I love this pattern and will do it. I would like to know also what that blule holder is on your hook? I fingers need something on my hook.

  • @nbailey1942 The blue holder is a pencil grip

  • I have been wanting to learn this pattern for a long time! Thank you for posting this video.... now I want to know, can I use the same thing to do an afghan using multiples of 6?

  • @Lorettasfaith Yes, you will keep adding chains in increments of 6 to the width you need.
