The Many Uses Of A Tampon. For Dressing Wounds, For Starting Fires, For Collecting Water Out Of Hard To Reach Places Like A tree Trunk, Morning Dew In Grass, And So Much More
@wall2rockclimber Not scared, but I find , a torch is helpful , in locating items in the dark. Once a Storm blew up, and my tarp got lifted..lol..Well that torch sure came in handy in the night. LOL.Cheers
Your kit is almost identical to my backpack contents aside of a few minor differences. But good vid man, I also shop with Heinnie.com... best place for knives for UK guys like us. keep it up.
you go through the effort of putting together a kit [that looks great btw] and edit/upload it to youtube, but you can't talk louder or closer to the camera...
One tip...At any Home Depot you can buy a collapsable varmit trap. These traps can handle a grown racoon or possum...good eats. They fold up flat and I strap mine to my alice-pack frame...very lite (2lbs.). Set it at bed, and you will have breakfast 90% of the time. They work awesome!! To kill the mighty beast...take it down to the water supply,- deeper than the cage of course, and let teh little fucker have a swim. Count to 4minutes and season to taste! Or you have portable fresh meat! G-Luck!
HI can you please advise me how I can obtain the details of the person that did the leather works as I would like to get one of those pouches please. Many thanks Wayne
six assholes must be blind and deaf. Great video and review mate. I´ll make a leather pouch inspired by yours and I´ll shoot a shout out video! Thanks from the bush in Brazil!
I've heard about some some problems with using a leather gear in wilderness like it keeping moisture in and drying out slowly. whats the truth about clames like that.
@CiaranRooney125 ...Even on a belt kit, a person needs to carry some amount of water...a canteen, a water bottle, a small water bladder, whatever. The main thing is, at least have some amount with you until you can locate a water source and then you hopefully have a means to purify it. Any good belt kit has the bare essentials...water, knife, means to make fire, a mini-first aid kit and the list goes on. But it is absolutely vital to make water a priority.
@superhornet69 Of course, but environment plays a big part. If you watch Mike's latest videos he carrys a nalgen on his belt. Mike also would proboully carry a canteen / waterbottle in his backpack. A waterbottle is not a life saving bit of kit, everything on that belt is.
@CiaranRooney125 ...We are not talking about a backpack, we are talking strictly about a belt kit. And some means to carry water or provide water has to be included in any belt kit. That is my entire point. You can't have a complete belt kit without making water a top priority. A knife, a flashlight, a fire starter and all that other shit is useless if after three days you are suffering from severe dehydration and end up dying from it.
@CiaranRooney125 ....One thing that never varies in any environment/climate is the need for water as a top priority. You can even be in the jungle where it rains a lot and still suffer from heat stroke if you are not drinking enough water. So even if you are where water is plentiful, you still need a way to carry it and store it on your person.and have access to water all the time. Any good belt kit would have a canteen included to take care of this vital priority...water is life.
@CiaranRooney125 ...One should never assume. Always be sure to make water a top priority and to have some with you, I mean physically on your person, at all times when out away from civilization. That way, in the event you somehow become separated from your pack, you still at least have enough on you until you can either locate another source or devise a means of water collection from either rain or condensation. The whole point of a belt kit is based on the 72 hour principle.
Well I was not basing my belt kit on any sort of principle other than the fact i wanted the simple kit with me at all times. A water bottle is very combersome and is in a daypack or back pack for me, as i never leave my camp place or home with out my day bag.
We are all different and live in different areas what some think is great might be crap for others. Just for the record England might be in europe but that does not make it the same climate as any other european country!
Just as Americans States have different climates and most people carry different kit on them that others do not agree with and thats what this video sharing is all about sharing ideas.
Do not take this as the end all be all as i have changed my kit out alot as i go to different places and environments.
Debates are good until you force your way on others.
@wall2rockclimber ...Thanks for the kind reply and to your credit, you do mention, albeit very briefly in passing, that the bandana can be used to sift water (at least sediment) and that you also have purification tablets in your pouch and also have the foil for boiling, so at least you do not entirely disregard any mention of water at all. But I would still always carry a canteen, but that's just me. I agree, sharing ideas is always a good thing. Best of luck to you as well...happy trails.
I REALLY like your leather gear, especially your laplander saw sheath and possibles pouch. were they made locally, or did you order them from somewhere?
Great kit. I don't carry as much, most of the time. here in Kentucky you can get away in the woods but you are never very far from help,,, now if I were to go out west, I would carry as much, and more. just depends on were you go.
you are right. although i am always about an hour from help, or a phone call away, i still carry the equipment as a habbit. i like to have certain items to make life easier. this is what the possibles pouch is for.
