  • Space travel. Very phallic.lol>Take all thet money that the governments spend on developing space travel and use it to eliminate world hunger first.Anyone who disagrees is an irresponsible dreamer and deserves to be shot.Id rather see an African orAsian kid getting proper medical treatment and going to school than see some stupid over educated prick flying to mars in a space craft even partially funded by tax-payers money.

  • @upsroyce (not trying to be a smart ass prick) not 50 years sadly, it'll be a minimum of150 years before we are done terraforming mars so it's suitable to live on, so making big havens on moon, a rock with no atmosphere, will take time. And that's if people would fund it.

  • ONLY FIVE FUCKING MINUTES?!?!

  • @maxinator775 hey its a start!

  • TO RICHARD BRANSON your the man. can work for you??

  • @jimsp71

if he hires you make sure you tell him what galactic means cause aparently noone there knows what that means.

  • He doesn't have very good speaking skills for a billionair at 1:00

  • I heard by 2020 they was going to have a spaceship hotel for one night it was going to be $4000.00. That's crazy

  • @daliza23 thats pretty cheap considering 1 ride that will cost $200,000 now that lasts 2 and a half hours........

I know its hard to distinguish tone over the internet but was that comment(last sentance) amazement or sarcasm?

  • Circling the world at least once would be nice, but who knows if they have the capability.

  • 200K seems like a bit much for 5mins of zero G.

  • 45mins (in another video i saw about it) yeh i know but it aint gonna be cheap it might be like an aeroplane ticket in the future :)

  • @thenovadeus =( But that`s all that we able to enjoy (not Chuck Norriss FART) !

  • BRANSON CONTACT Prof. John Searl ABOUT HIS SEG magnet generator HE CAN TAKE YOU TO SPACE REALLY anyone whos got millions CONTACT HIM PLEASE WOULD COULD LIVE LIFE CLEANER CHEAPER AND HAPPIER LOOK UP SEG PLEASE

  • BRANSON needs to talk Prof. John Searl who has bulit and flown A UFO YES THAT RIGHT A UFO well no its called a levity disc HE NEEDS MONEY TO BUILD ANOTHER watch the VIDS IN MY FAVS

  • ur crazy... but i like you.

  • Someone please put Richard Branson in a nursing home before he loses all of what remaining mind he has.

  • Thats so disrespectful. Branson is doing what he loves doing best, doing things which other people tell him cannot be done. He kicks losers like you in the balls once he is finished flaunting his epic achievement in your face.

  • @webnothing Oh goodness. Well, I didn't realize he could still kick balls. That is something.

  • See? ...so, hold on your britishs angst.

  • Steve Fosset (an American) also a multimillionare like Branson, holder of many aviation world records. 1st. around the world alone in a ballon, 1st. around the world alone in an aircraft.

Bertrand Piccard (a Swiss), 1rst. flight around the globe in a ballon, member of a prestigious family of aviation explorers.

(Two first s which Branson couldn´t achieve by the way).

Yves Rossy (a Swiss), first man to fly with a jet wing pack, first man to cross the British Channel with a jet pach.

  • Don´t flatter yourself, he is just the wallet with a desire. The real innovator behind it is Burt Rutan who was the one that brought the private space flight idea in the first place, remember? Branson is just benefiting on it, isn´t he profiting US$ 200 T for a ride?

Besides, if you want to boast about aviation entrepreneurs, the list goes on. Count there Dietrich Mateschitz, Red Bull owner who is also advocating aviation big time: Red Bull Racing circuit, Hangar 7 aircraft Museum, etc.

  • this guy did more alone then americans all these years...kaukaukauak

  • i never knew how much he stuttered

  • We need to preserve this guy's DNA and create a new Richard Branson every 100 years in a lab.

  • With life extension you won't need to.

  • With current life extension methods... i don't think so...

  • Oh, I didn't mean current, I meant future methods. Sorry I didn't put that. :p

  • Hehe, absolutely! I wonder how much training that is required befor that spaceflight. Of the passengers I mean. Some g-training at least.. For the first time in many years, I feel mankind is getting somewhere! Space, here we come!

  • @swivelingchairguy

why ? he cant understand the term galactic id say stick to selling music

  • @swivelingchairguy : preserve his money you mean not his DNA

  • @swivelingchairguy I really hope that,s a joke.

  • orbital flight will prob be our next generation type of transportation.u can go from los angeles to new york in about 1hr... .hopefullly im around to go to the moo!! lol

  • how many times did he say 'and' at 1:02

  • I think it was 7

  • LMAO!

  • Well, the more flights, the cheaper it will get, economies of scale....

Let's hope a lot of people book it now! Hey, I think you can pay it of in installments. I think they are first going to start flying out in 2011, so that's 2 years to put down the money....

  • haha! jesus people, open your minds, this is only the beginning!

  • and when you think that we will be at the middle, the God will destroy our hopes same as HE did in past. The human and Universe are so large, that your expression "only the beginning" is nothing. We still know nothing from so huge science!

  • SO. God's "cooking something up" for me, now eh? I travel to far in space, and God will just blow up my spaceship? NOT ON MY WATCH

  • child

  • THe people have no choice in the matter. We must live the way they say

  • $200000 for 2 and a half hours of space/weightlessness/diziness/silence/inaspacesuit/hunger... haaaaa... wth?

  • no $200000 for 1 in a lifetime experience lol but it is a bit steap

  • 1:03 And, and, and, and! He is really excited. His company is the big step into the space age!

  • only five minutes for 200k?

    count me out man!

  • Richard did it again!

I am on my way to save up for my ticket:-)

  • I still think it sucks that the government have robbed us of our natural land. THey can do what ever they want but we have to be slaves and pay to live. THey have claimed the right to the land which they have no more right to than anybody else. In paticular britain is one of the worst countries for going around taking over countries in history.

  • Maybe we should all look at the bigger picture here..exploration..after all we are a race driven by one common denominator...curiosity>>>>>

  • Great point!

  • i really don't see the point in colonizing space if we can't solve our problems on earth. YOU have to see the funny side of it

  • there is a limit to how much pollution man can put up with. Sooner or later pollution levels will just make masses of people ill on a mass scale. We're practically getting that way now

  • Fayik look at this that way, the pollution will be here until new technologies replace the old ones. Anyway, if I could choose between green and unpolluted planet without cars, factories, washing machines, etc. and little pollution with major technological breakthroughs, a would certainly choose the latter.

  • The DeSIGN IS VERY DISAPPOINTING,

IT SHOULD BE MORE FLEXIBLE AND SMOOTH LOOKING,

    THAT DESIGN IS JUST

    SIMPLY CRAP !

    HOPE THEY CHANGE IT!

  • i agree with u its ugly but like the first airplane it was scary in its look then we saw the real planes i hope it will be the same with this one

  • lol design a new one then IDIOT

  • i dont think the human race will survive long enough for space travel to become popular.

  • And Why do you think that Fayik?

    Please explain.

  • NAtural resources are extremely low.

  • This really is paving the way for the new breed of space craft. PUT NASA to shame guys and good on you! Nasa seem to think strapping a plane to a huge rocket was a good idea... untill they lost 2 of them. Cant wait to see the first flight - Ground breaking folks, not a fucking joke like half of the comments on here.

  • I am an alien. I will fly you into space for free, however I will charge you 200,000 dollars for returning you back to Earth. (anal probe and implants not included)

  • whell i will make a reservation and i tell u something its not abaut the money its about something that u counlt do even with 5 millions, but this guy made it possible. yeah hurra virgen galactic

  • A-A-A--A-A-AAAANDNDANNADNDNAND

  • Lol yeah... he stutters a lot

  • for some reason their design doesnt look practical, i mean does anybody know how many heat shielding tiles have to be on there for re-entery. I mean come on look at it, is this a joke, I meann damn give me a few million and ill desidn you a real spaceship.

  • Well kimmel310, if you knew much about space travel or the ansari prize and Virgin success or about their first ship you would then realize that with that design the ship doesn't require heating tiles. It is light enough and the atmospheric entrance surface area is large enough that the ship doesn't burn up on re-entry like NASA's heavy shuttles. I would hope you never get your hands on the money to design and build your own ship. I'd file a lawsuit on attempted murder.

  • Well... If it were YOUR money...

  • In due time it will be an every day thing and I'm sure of it and I know it sounds crazy but I have a feeling in the future we will be taking vacations in space probably in the next 50 years or so.I'm telling you though that would be a rush to go on a space flight to the moon and stay at a hotel for a week or so.

  • are u fucking kidding?? with the NWO running the planet your ass is grass!

  • people 50 years ago were saying that : /

  • it is ingrained in our dna to disperse throughout our environment, without this drive the human species would have perished long ago, we now MUST continue this dispersal throughout our solar system and then to the nieghboring stars, or we will surely perish here on our homeworld, to deny our genetic heritage is to doom our species to extinction, burt rutan and richard branson are visionaries leading us on to survival.

  • we'll never be allowed in space! stupid! the aliens will never allow this.

  • How about Virgin Supersonic? A successor to the Concorde

  • Moon: Now, that's what I'm talking about.

  • You, give me a break. Richard Branson has given more money to causes than you could possibly imagine. Are you going to tell all of the major airlines to stop flying and give all there money to so called charities. I'm so tired of people trying to throw money at problems thinking that would solve everything. Let's face the truth. You can't solve human behavior problems with money.

  • Um, tough guy, you're talking about airplane travel (which for arguments sake is 40-50% business related) to people flying in order to achieve 2-3 hours of zero gravity. Further, they are burning a HELL of a lot more fuel than plane travel to achieve this. So basically, money can't solve problems so why bother? No offense, but that's ignorant.

  • There were people like you a hundred years ago when airplanes were in the same stage.

  • beatle: Right on! I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • You guys are seriously comparing airplane travel to space travel? NOTHING in his plan states this is travel for practicality sake, it is PURELY people wanting to experience space. They might as well release this as a ride at Disney World. You all need to get a clue and stop watching Star Trek, you're simply showing your age.

  • Give me a break. This is just another way for Sir Branson to feed his ego, giving the rich and bored something to do. I'm curious, how much fuel will be burned to feed the bored elitists? Money is better spent on pursuing cures for disease, global climate change, the faltering economy, education, ad nauseam than for this b.s.

  • well if ur rich and ur bored u might as well do something with that money

    i know i would

  • Your quickness to belittle the potential breakthrus forthe whole fucking species is kinda annoying. There have been people ("Smart people" if that "gives you a break") for over 100 years talking of the betterment of the species in many facets by expansion into space. Since 70's scientists and enthusiasts have been waiting for the existing technology to be utilized for greater mankind, beyond simply "going somewhere" (the moon). You seem to have a problem simplifying things AND people.

  • Eliot, you're clueless, but I'll be sure to inform my professors at Columbia that I'm apparently unintelligent. How am I simplifying things when Branson CLEARLY states this is simply a space experience, and NOT meant for travel? Why would someone spend $200,000 to travel the same distance as a regular flight? TO EXPERIENCE SPACE. So, explain to me how this is practical?

  • I have to agree with CJD on this one, it seems just a tool for the wealthy to waste their time and money on. We already have air travel, why not pump some of that money into the vacuum tunnel from NYC to Paris that has been developed? Get to Paris in less than 56mins from NYC with little to no fuel/pollution is much more practical than billions spent on space travel. Air travel has been around for decades, let's reinvent the wheel.

  • u need to do the math man a fucking vacume tunnel from nyc to paris would take all the gold out of fort knox or some shit like that. you know how much money and time that would take. if richard bransons rich ass wants 2 go to space let him. we need stuff like this it will help improve are technology. ima laugh when the aleins come bomb ur ass and im on the moon haha.

  • Space contains infinite materials and of course space. While the basic technology has existed to serve humanity in ways such as self-sustaining, self-regenerating colonies, mining of infinite amounts of energy... the details needed for the applicability of any such technologies have been encumbered by ONLY ONE thing. Cheap space flight - something the government isn't working too hard on, at least not comparably. The advances made by Branson can serve as a technical and economic model.

  • I'm sure in the future it will go down in price .The only reason why its so high now is because

There is no one out there offering it.There is another company starting to offer that I just don't remember the name of them.I have a feeling there will be more companies out there in the future who will offer the same and a cheaper price.Hey I know If I ever become rich and I had 200,000 to burn I would do it.I'm sure there are a lot of celebrities that will do it.That would be awesome.

  • Actually at that press conference Branson and Rutan were talking about their future vision of intercontinental travel.

Their next ship will have more passengers and lower price.

Once(if) the mass production begins it will be even cheaper.

Branson compared it with the first intercontinental flights of Yankee- Clipper in the 30'sWere the tickets went for $30K in todays money. It was practical business model.

I bet business community will find practical to fly NYC-Tokyo in 1hr.

  • cont...>

The truth is that we live in a very busy solar-system and that this planet of ours has been quarantined i.e. the inhabitants remain ignorant to facts above for a reason. NASA has lied about what it knows, we have never been alone and each planet in our solar has its own population...of sorts (apart from mercury)!

  • According to reports from those on the inside, we already have the technology to travel between the stars and have bases on the moon and mars. This is nothing but a facade to make us think that were actually getting somewhere.

    cont...>

  • i see some nerds here have watched too much star wars and star trec

  • My spaceship costs just $30 bucks! Beat that!

    GOTTA SELL THAT CRACK!

  • who's going to afford that when the financial collapse comes.

  • by the time this thing makes regular flights, we'll probably be out of the recession already (i hope)

  • *shakes head* lol. we're already IN a recession. America no longer produces valuables fit for trade, and therefore, when the real collapse comes, the depression, the world will have no more confidence in us and will be trading with the next giant, china, while we recover. ever heard of the new world order, go to google video and watch: the money masters

  • i disagree that we're in the recession but admit that i'm probably wrong...

lol yeah i was talking to a friend about how this "economic boost" the government's giving to us is just going to china in the end >.>

  • We've been in a recession since 2001, a few months before september 11. The only movement in the stock market has been by the PPT or the other intergovernmental agencies or the bankers. any private citizens who are interfereing with the market are either psycho's or lucky. the real market, US is basically dead. how much have you made this year?

  • Im glad that someone cares about space and travel through space, in the future hopefully branson and everyone involved with virgin galactic will be remebered for helping push forward space travel and eventually and hopefully colonization.

  • i remembr the last one years ago

  • amazing!

  • cool i am going to go on that ship in my live time its my new goal

  • nice, when we virally liquidate this host's assets, we can put human dna into a mucus coated cyst and catapult towards a new cell, like a "virgin" galactic sneeze. i'm sure the final design probably will look nothing like this prop. but oh what hope that our 'greatness' will not end here on dusty earth.

  • That airplane is way to small for anyone to fly in.

  • This is the beggining

  • Id argue the beginning was about 100 years back... but it's good to be catching a second wind.

    -Qes

  • just 2 huors that sucks, and 5 minuts of weaitlness

  • Even if they "only" barely are entering Space, I wish them the best of luck.

To reach escape velocity you'll need much higher speeds of course! But its a first step.
