The DC police refused to interview the alleged victims or OccupyDC witnesses. The police allowed the driver, who is possibly guilty of alleged attempted murder, to leave the scene -- again without questioning the alleged victims.

The DC police refused to interview the alleged victims or OccupyDC witnesses. The police allowed the driver, who is possibly guilty of alleged attempted murder, to leave the scene -- again without questioning the alleged victims.

This story has gone viral. My Google search found over 60,000 media stories about the alleged actions by Valentine to purportedly run his car into 3-4 protesters in DC. These articles will undoubtedly leave readers with an unfavorable to uncertain view of the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. I hope that Police Chief Cathy Lanier will take actions immediately to order detectives to interview the 4 alleged victims, Shawn Valentine, OccupyDC witnesses, & other witnesses.

Given that 2 of the alleged victims are lesbians, and given DC police history of biased or hostile treatment of GLBT victims & witnesses, DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier needs to refer this matter to the DC police department's Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit (or whatever its equivalent is now called).

I think the women who were hit should file a lawsuit & other appropriate claims/complaints (for themselves & on behalf of the minor son) against the allegedly criminal driver--also a claim/complaint against the DC police dep't for what appears to be the police's negligent or criminal handling of the man allegedly using his automobile as a weapon against apparently innocent protesters (including a woman who is reportedly 6 months pregnant).

To me, after evaluating the
conflicting stories, it seems likely that Shawn Valentine of Clifton, MD
intentionally & deliberately hit protesters Heidi, her pregnant
wife Brandy & Heidi's son. Someone needs to do some research into
that man's political leanings, prior record, views on gay couples &
psychological stability (etc).

@bniemic & @PlanetUbla Clinton, MD is a working class suburb of DC; median family income = $70K. It's in PG County. PG is majority African-American, majority working class, majority Democrat.
Based on those demographics,the driver is most probably part of the 99% too.

The police should investigate this matter better and get statements from a few people that where at the protests AND where hit by the car. It is absurd that they are refusing to take any statements from the victims. They're shooting themselves in the foot by not doing that as they are now missing important information (like that the driver hit another protestor before hitting the three others or that there was no green light) which makes them look pathetic in press conferences and releases.

@wtfgamer96 There is video evidence that an office bumped into the lady in question... look for it. The protestors are not violent people. I know many of them dearly and nobody would intentionally hurt an elderly person.

@TheOccupyPeople I understand that yes there is a large majority of the Occupy Movement that are good honest protesters on the other hand there is another side for an instance if you would like i can send you the video of her recount of the story...It is not an officer who bumped into her but they also did not intentionally beat her up. But one thing that is despicable is right after she falls a man comes and says "this is what democracy looks like" as shes crying on the ground.
