@MsAlone4now Actually, you need to forgive Victoria Principal. I watched a story on Andy on VH1 and was surprised to find out that Andy's brothers were at wits end to try to help Andy get off drugs. He was ruining his performances being drugged up, so they knew Victoria was the only other thing he cared about. They tried tough love and asked her to call it off if he wouldn't get clean. He actually gave her up for drugs.

@grammyd55 He got clean in the end, without VP, unfortunately his feeling like a failure at the age of 30..which he NEVER was, turned himto drinking heavily and he died at 30 from a heart infection. He had an addiction which never goes away and is not helped by low self esteem.

You'll notice that this song, along with most on side two of the "After Dark" LP, sound just like you're listening to the Bee Gees, or rather Barry. This is most likely because at the time of recording, Andy was too far gone on drugs to complete the album himself. Barry was with him nearly every step of the way, originally recording backup, then needing to sing with him. This is particularly evident during the line, "falling in love with you baby, when i really should be saying goodbye".

They were more interested in posting embarrassing info concerning Andy's financial woes and continuous battle with substance abuse than focusing on his tremendous talent and love for people...especially the love he had for his family. Such a kind young man and always the gentleman.

Good song. I didn't know about this one until I saw it here on youtube. He was great. It was sad to lose him to drugs. I could never get tired of his voice. He and his brothers sang me to sleep as a child of the 80s.

The last two years he abused alcohol,especially the last few months, before he died, in England trying to write songs... poor andy, he needed a good woman and it's hard to imagine why he could not find one. I hope he was over VP in the end,but the breakup did start a downward cycle and then up and down until the end. His career got really messed up after the split with VP and he never really recovered though he tried. He was so talented!!! I went thru a divorce about 1983.
