BB King paying tribute to Eric Clapton - such humility - we sincerely need this kind of humility and actions with govenernments claiming to represent their people who elected them - yet they are supposed to be servants to the people - but we become slaves and servants to the wishes of politicicans, corporations and all who share in their spoils 'in the name of the people'
"So i say this all to you: May i live for ever, but may YOU live forever and a day. Because I hate to be here when you passed away. And when they laid me out to rest... may the last voices i hear be yours saying 'while we was alive we was friends.' God bless you." -BB King
such great words from a great man. I thank you for feeding my soul BB King,
eric clapton is truly one of the human beings that i admire most, as player, artist, musicia, survivor and human being. He is one of my all-time heroes. truly inspirational. thanks eric, for teaching me to love the blues music.
As anyone, I always known eric clapton, but it´s only in the last months when I have been researching and listening to his incredible extensive career, and you know what? It´s amazing. I don´t think there´s anybody who have the influence that eric had in the last 50 years. It´s amazing. Yardbirds, blues breakers, the les paul+marshall combo, the playing, cream, solo career, collaborations, the crossroads fest. I don´t have words. All my respect to the MAN, Eric Clapton... and bb of course
Great, great song. Too bad you kept starting and stopping the song and never let it play in its entirety. Nothing more annoying then someone editing the hell of out a song and completely losing the feel of the moment. I have this DVD and it is awesome. Too bad you don't know how to edit properly.
@aebyko Yeah it was a bit annoying but at least he put the effort in. I would not have seen this speech without it and I've even bought the DVD for two people based on a Sky hour version of the gig. What a legend B.B King is. Wonder what he thinks of John Mayer.

31st march 2006 i was front row watching BB King. The song ended and he threw his plectrum straight at me and it landed an inch away from my foot, (you would'nt believe me if i told you which song) its framed now and i will cherish it forever. forget the grammy's , awards , money etc. for eric clapton this must top everything.
do what you can to see him. it's something to regret if you miss him. also, dress like he's the king . show your respect. suits for the men, dress and great shoes for the ladies. he is the man so act like it!! i've seen him many times. best one was at a little tiny bar in san diego. he saw me (dressed to the nines) and motions me to right in front of him and says,"what's a fine lookin' young white girl like you doin' in a place like this?" i say," i'm here for you, baby!" and he kissed me!! omg!
I Salute You The King of the Blues. I love how Robert Cray is a part of the Crossroads Festival as well. Really loved seeing Eric Clapton & Robert Cray in concert in 1983. Incredible talent on this stage!
It was pretty amazing to be there and hear BB 'getting real' with us all. If you all haven't read EC's new-ish book ... it's a great read of an amazing life and BB's little speech just kinda validated many of the things you get from the book.
I love Eric's book. He credits everything to BB, Robert Johnson and Buddy Guy. I think that's awesome. BB's tone is the best man, so thick and chunky and his playing is spot on man!

As warm as BB's speech was, it was kinda chilling at the time seeing it live, it struck me as a last great public signoff for BB.

He says that Clapton flew out and helped him with his first record. BB's first record was in 1956. Clapton first came to the US in 1967.
