@ LiptonGuy: Get rid of innocent until proven guilty and you have no justice. If you think that a person should be punished just because a prosecutor says they should be, that's despotism. If the guilty don't get to make their case, neither do you.
Unrelated, the guy at 1:25 who says "imagine a country without lawyers" isn't really making a very good case. I think if we got rid of 99% of the laws in this country (and, therefore, 99% of the lawyers), I think things would be much better.
in canada you need a bachelors degree to get into law school is that also the requirment in the u.s.? they don't say what the bachelors degree has to be in just that you have one. So you could get a degree in let's say interior decorating, and then get into a law school. this aside is it arequirment in all states, some, none? thank you.
Yes you do need BA/BS to get into law school especially if you want to get into American Bar Association (ABA) approved schools. Some state bar approved schools will accept students with Associate degree but you will have to take a state mini-bar exam at the end of your first year of law school.
The problem with lawyers is that they always seem to be defending the indefensible. They never seem to defend those that deserve a defense. They lie, they come up with insane stories, anything that actually avoids the truth. The justice system should be based on finding the truth not the adversarial system. We want to know the truth we don't t want the best lie. I will never have any respect for those in the legal system until we get one based on uncovering the truth.
wow.... if you don't see this documentary, you're missing out. i saw this and thought... "how perfectly right for America"... I think they are releasing it on DVD in september, but that's to be announced soon...

In my city (Toledo, Ohio) we got an attorney who LOVES to defend pedophiles, child rapists and men who want to play hide-the-pickle with boys.
I will NEVER....NEVER understand how a SANE person (LAWYER), could voluntarily choose to DEFEND the indefensible.
This attorney will LIE for these pedophiles and call the victim (boy) on the stand a LIAR...and tear them apart.
It's insane. I don't know how these SCUM lawyers.....the lowest of the low, can sleep at night.
Unbelievable

No doubt for self gratification.

If someone had a valid defense, they would either plea/settle or simply have the suit dropped.
Everyone deserves a defense, it's a constitutional right. The adversarial system is the best known way to find the truth.
Go back to your job changing my BMWs oil.

@spiderz7 Yes exactly! The whole law system is so perverse that it's really about winning the case. Sigh. Lawyers these days...
