It always saddens me when I see something like this - for several reasons.
Firstly, for the family of the man or woman concerned. Their lives torn apart by the loss of a loved one - though they must in the back of their minds be half-prepared for a day like this, but still the reality, the finality! Secondly, for the person themselves - often cut down in their vital youth. And thirdly, for the 'enemy' - yes, they lose loved ones as well and we should think of them too in their grief. RIP
@Factnotfictionpeople I was touched by the first two reasons you enumerated but you lost it on the third. In this particular conflict I don't see how one can feel any sympathy for an enemy that feels justified in hijacking and flying airplanes filled with innocents into buildings killing more innocents, or who would strap bombs to themselves and blow up buses, trains, or public places. The West needs to bag this PC shit quicktime if it hopes to save itself from the religion of Death!!!!

Don't forget that when we bomb targets, often innocent civilians are wounded or killed and it is these people for whom we should feel sorrow. ALSO, don't forget that many suicide bombers are brain-washed to carry out their bombings WITHOUT knowledge of their close family. I assume from your spelling that you are American? 9/11(!) was your first real wake-up call, we've been living with terrorism on our shores for decades.....
