Yeah, driving a car and listening to music is safe - seatbelt, airbags, metal frame, crumple zones, etc. - but I would say that as a motorcyclist I would never want to focus my attention away from my riding.
I always wanted some kind of device to talk and listen to my passenger and maybe even other riders in a small group. I know that they sell these devices, but that involves cutting the helmet apart to install it. I wonder if there are helmets with these built in?
I see the point people have about not listening to music like head phones when driving but i use to it when my car didn't have a stereo I just wouldn't crank of up the music nor would I put the headphones directly over i ears. As for hearing car over taking you I can't hear most car over taking me unless they have a modified exhaust. and besides who drives with their ears and not their eyes
hmm...Im just afraid that it might come off loose and you're left with a wired speaker hanging off your bike...be careful when you decide to field test it. Its a cool concept.
I'm still not very fond of the idea of listening to music while driving(no matter what vehicle).
You shell yourself off of the world around you and block the most important organ one has(in my view).
If you listen to music you couldn't(e.g.) hear a car overtaking you from the back and you could shift lane while he is next to you, what could cause your death(not good:-))
