@BeastoFrancisco I don't play final fantasy, but it seems like they are at least expanding the franchise with new games and stories. Games get re released for a new audience. It's the same "Franchise" but by the looks of it, it's not the same game. If anything is like Dragonball Z, it would be Street fighter.
@WarperBlade 13 was REALLY linear, it almost didn't feel like a final fantasy at many points, but it was still beautiful and a great game, despite leaving out many of the final fantasy characteristics
FFXI is my favorite its nice slow tempo. (: lol man i remember playing WoW and my uncle next to me playing FFXI on my xbox we were just chilling blasting this and the chocobo theme from FFXI love my dam uncles
@buttgut630 The video maker used remake versions of the song for 1-3 (PS1/DS), and the original version of 4's (SNES). This video doesn't show the progression very well for that reason and because it cuts off before the tunes are even finished in some instances.
Currently, I am playing through the Final Fantasy series, and... It's amazing. I'd have to say I love it to death over any other video game series. I've already beat FFIII DS,and FFVIII. I'm at the beginning of Disc 2 of FFIX, started FFVII, FFXII, and FFVI. So far, FFIX is my favorite, but I have any yet to buy and play. xD
XI, I, and V had great gameplay and amazing stories, but personally are middle ground compared to the first three games, except V which i congrat for innovating the freakin' job system and IX with its super awesome story. XIII and XII were okay, but VIII superseded with its better story and smoother gameplay, XII was a bit confusing with the Gambits and XIII was good but streamlined. II frustrated me, III was short, and i just didnt care for the drama of X and the gameplay X-2 underwent.
My favorites from most to least of the final fantasies: VI, IV, VII, IX, V, I, VIII, XIII, XII, II, III, X, X-2.
VI and IV i was RAISED on, being probably some of the best stories with the most versatile characters and backstories, the ability to not have voice only giving it that much more imagination to the characters emotion and personality. VII innovated and had probably one of the greatest challenges: Higher bits to fit the translation to 3d nature.
Man, Prelude and Dearly Beloved (Kingdom Hearts) are so amazing, sometimes i start the game, lay back, put the controller on the floor, and enjoy the goodness of Square's music.
I miss Nubuo Uematsu, but looking on the bright side, we still have Yoko Shimomura.
She is no better than Uematsu, but i can say they her music is almost as good as his, specially from Radiant Historia.
maybe its my nostalgia talking, but man i fuckin love VII's so much. it just feels so dream like. Vs and IXs were also excellent! i remember really liking VIIIs but thought it was lame that it was only in the game over screen. x's is awesome!
Wow I remember Final Fantasy 4 really well, that and 9, those two were probably the biggest breakthroughs in all of them. The music, battles, Story lines, everything. This game is also a really good father son game i played it with my dad and we still talk about it.

FF12 was the best game, come on. I mean the soundtrack was the best out of all the games, story was by far THE most deep and political, plus the world was the most appealing to me since FF9.
FF13 wasn't even done by Tetsuya Nomura, so of course it's not going to be to par.

Minus Vaan as a sometimes annoying main character, the rest of the cast makes up for that. The boss battles feel much more intense than any of the other games, the world and history is MUCH more appealing and the plot is the most deep.
uhhh FF7 wasn't great in my opinion... it sounded more synthish then the older ones.... the older ones sound like real actual string instruments which easily gets my favor

The only problem I have with 12 and 13 are the battle systems... I understand that times are changing but the battles are supposed to be strategy based... I think of Lost Odyssey as the true FFXIII... What it should have/would have been... 12 and 13 wouldn't have been as bad if they had the ATB of 1-9 or the CTB of 10... Also Conditional Turn Bassed from 10 is definitely my favorite... But these are all just opinions... Hopefully XIII-Versus will kick ass even though it's Kingdom Hearts style.
(continuing) Also, if they want to continue with their crossovers like dissidia ,that have absolutely no interesting story ( or ,an even too hard one )I bet that many would like to see a light hearted spinoff once in a while , if it is done well. FFX was the worst final fantasy right next to FFX-2. FFI and FFII were okay and had an interesting story and the remake of FFIII for the DS was really cool. IV-IX were great! I loved XI for the community and for the limitless possibilities of the game. 12 was too short for me and the gambit system made the game too easy. 13 was a little too dumbed down and didn't like the characters pretty much being exactly the same and story was hard for people to understand..don't see how though..

I love the Final Fantasy series, but FFX is probably my favorite. It came out when I was like five and I remember to this day when my uncle told me about it. I had played 7 from when i was three. I wasn't able to get a ps2 until fifth grade, and that was the first game I bought for it because I had waited so long. To this day I've probably beaten it five times, and it totally brings back many memories from my childhood. (FF7 was the bomb though, and the first one i played)
This music, this song, represents 18 years of my life, since I was 5 years old. It's the reason I've become the pianist I am today. While this series is not the largest part of my life, it plays a huge part in the shaping of it, regardless. There will NEVER be a series like Final Fantasy.
I think by in large, today's generation of kids fail to appreciate what Final Fantasy represents; i.e. hours of wondering around, gaining experience, leveling up, and trying to figure out obscure clues.

this song still, after all these years, sends a chill down my spine (a good one). it fills me witha sense of beautiful adventure, whenever i hear this at the beginning of an FF game, i know that i'm in for an amazing and unique adventure into a wonderous fantasy universe. the prelude is an absolutely amazing piece of work. so simple, yet so absolutely divine.

This isn't quite right. You didn't start at the beginning, you started near the end, with the remakes of the originals, and then went backwards to games which were actually made before the remakes.
Every version of Prelude in one song would probably be a couple hours long though.
This is so awesome, I've loved The Prelude ever since FF1 and it's great to see how its evolved over the years (I've never seen some of these before, especially from the earlier ones)
FFVII has in my opinion the best. It's entranced me since I first heard it, and I sat through the opening credits the first time I played just to hear it.

FFX was the worst final fantasy right next to FFX-2. FFI and FFII were okay and had an interesting story and the remake of FFIII for the DS was really cool. IV-IX were great! I loved XI for the community and for the limitless possibilities of the game. 12 was too short for me and the gambit system made the game too easy. 13 was a little too dumbed down and didn't like the characters pretty much being exactly the same and story was hard for people to understand..don't see how though..

I love the Final Fantasy series, but FFX is probably my favorite. It came out when I was like five and I remember to this day when my uncle told me about it. I had played 7 from when i was three. I wasn't able to get a ps2 until fifth grade, and that was the first game I bought for it because I had waited so long. To this day I've probably beaten it five times, and it totally brings back many memories from my childhood. (FF7 was the bomb though, and the first one i played)

This music, this song, represents 18 years of my life, since I was 5 years old. It's the reason I've become the pianist I am today. While this series is not the largest part of my life, it plays a huge part in the shaping of it, regardless. There will NEVER be a series like Final Fantasy.

I think by in large, today's generation of kids fail to appreciate what Final Fantasy represents; i.e. hours of wondering around, gaining experience, leveling up, and trying to figure out obscure clues.

FF6 is quite slow.
But it's still one of my favorite games.
Everybody thinks that 7 is the best,
It had a good storyline, and the music was beautiful,
But FF6 was perfect.
It wasn't too futuristic,
It wasn't too medieval,
But i'll tell you what it was.....

this song still, after all these years, sends a chill down my spine (a good one). it fills me witha sense of beautiful adventure, whenever i hear this at the beginning of an FF game, i know that i'm in for an amazing and unique adventure into a wonderous fantasy universe. the prelude is an absolutely amazing piece of work. so simple, yet so absolutely divine.

@Milomia9 12 and 13 r not so good like 6,7,8,9,10. i suggest u to play those first and then play ff13.ull see that ff13 is a piece of crap(yet that game recieved great score in review but that doesnt mean its a good game.)no my friend...12 and 13 r not as good as the rest ff games.they dont have soul no deep story no feeling they dont touch ur heart the ranking system sucks and ff13 doesnt even have a decent camera.

@itachiitachi1946 Thats your own opinion. As for 13 I thought the story had alot of feeling. I have played most of the other games and loved it just as much. As for 12 I think Square just set peoples hopes too high and when a game came out that was only as good as an average game, they were dissapointed. In conclusion, they are good just not as good. I may sound like Im contradicting, but its kind of hard to explain since Im trying not to start an argument.

This isn't quite right. You didn't start at the beginning, you started near the end, with the remakes of the originals, and then went backwards to games which were actually made before the remakes.
Every version of Prelude in one song would probably be a couple hours long though.
