@alzers516 I bought it used. It had tons of wire ramps and shelves that I took out with wire cutters. Then I replaced them with wood shelves. I have gotten a new cage since then that I like MUCH better! I have a video of it if you check my channel. :)
@Giannadogz5 Chinchillas can, and will, get into anything and everything. They will chew electrical cords, plastic, and everything else. The cardboard is there to prevent them from getting to anything that would be bad for them. Chinchillas can jump 3 feet in the air, so if you do use cardboard to block them from an area, make sure it's at least that high or they'll just jump right over it. They'll also try to squeeze behind it. Haha!
@FashionCandyJewelry ok, Thank you(: so wuld be a bad idea to let them out in my bedroom? cuz like cords for tv and computer and game councels etc....ive done lots of research on them but still figuring out how to chinchilla proof ur room...ive been asking my parents for a room for the chinchillas and they like No....wuld getting a room just for them good...like a little room?
they're very cute!!! the cage is awesome too! ..i was just wondering if they dont chew on the blanket and on the hammock? what fabric are they made from? is it a special fabric which is harmless for chins??
@DAskinnyMOMMA Thank you! They're all made from fleece. Fleece is the only fabric that is safe for chin's cages. It doesn't have any fibers, so there's no threads for them to chew that could get wrapped around their feet, neck, or body, and no threads to get stuck in their digestive tract. You'll still need to monitor them and make sure they don't try to eat the fleece, but most chins won't.
