  • New Wave Theater good, but this is shit. Those are a bunch of old poseurs trying to cash in on a scene that they didn't belong to. All those mustache dudes are the same ones yelling "Hey Fag, Fucking Devo" and then trying to jump young punkers as they walk down the street of H.B., F.V., G.G., C.M., Fullerton et al.

  • @aupsychobilly WTF you talkin' about ?....this is awesome.....it's soooo bad...that's what makes it so fun....I would go to a club to see these guys back in the day....man I love this

  • @aupsychobilly you're shit

  • how is this not a youtube sensation

  • this was a must and if you are in your late 30,s or 40,s and never heard of new wave theater or night flight ,,,,you are out out out....and if u missed it ..its just that u missed it...although these are not the best clips i remember but thank god they are here

  • @MrBrianlowdown I LOVED Night Flight! Every Friday and Saturday night on the USA cable network. NEW WAVE THEATER was the best that Night Flight had in its lineup! I remember that it always came on at 2:30 or 3:00AM and was the last installment for the night. NEW WAVE THEATER turned me on to punk/hardcore music.

  • @mrfilmnoir68 -yep !

  • @MrBrianlowdown -yeah,good new wave theater is hard to find. i got alot on vhs, fear, dead kennedys, black flag, and alot of others.me and some friends got kicked from a line ,to go to a taping.n.w.t. was lame alot of the times, but once in awhile, you,d see history in the making...

  • this is really great. did they have any albums or singles? I can't find anything on discogs.

  • Aaaaaand somehow it's influences like this, that made the Beastie Boys fuckin' dope.

  • This is so bad it's great....I love it

  • Iraq & Iran are STILL in the news!

  • This is just too fuckin' cool. It's fascinating to watch primitive 80s music which led to evolutionary dead ends. Or did it?

  • Adrock sent me

  • Intergalactic body movin' thumbs up if adamhorovitz sent you here!

  • @patchanceprod for real

  • man, all i can imagine is the polysics playing...

  • Ad Rock sent me.

  • fuckn classic

  • beasties sent me here...regurgitating my youth. Man, I still can't remember what drugs I was doing back then.

  • Isn't it weird that the director, David Jove, is a suspect in Peter Iver's death?

  • this is sick. cocaine much?

  • anyone have all the lyrics?

  • These guys make the sex pistols look like posers!

  • I miss New Wave Theatre!

  • " I cannot relate too violence ... turn the channel."

If we'd listened we might not be in Iraq 20 years later.

Oh those kooky new wavers ... speaking truth and wisdom .

  • There's a book about Peter Ivers available on Amazon: "In Heaven Everything is Fine: The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers and the Lost History of New Wave Theater."

  • Oh my god. That guy rules.

  • This is gourmet good bad!

  • AWESOME IT"S SO NEW WAVE

  • Didn't they do the song, "Just a Gigolo" which sounded like a B 52s song? I remember hearing that song on the Quake in San Francisco.

  • S H I T !!

  • well that sucked

  • it's still more interesting than blondie

  • New Wave Theater on Night Flight was the shit back then, I remember seeing The Subjects on there, I hear Brenda has passed away, but haven't been able to confirm that. Peter Ivers was a man who saw into the future, so sad he was Murdered and it remains unsolved to this day.

  • I remember this show being filmed in a abandoned building (the Florentine Gardens?), on Hollywood Blvd. Long live Madame Wong's West!

  • "I have excellent news for the world...there is no such thing as New Wave"...

Identify this quote and I'll PayPal you a drink.

  • i've seen that vid that has it in there

sadly i don't know who it was and am to young to drink

  • Claude Bessey, but I don't drink.

  • Claude Bessey, but I don't drink.

  • Claude Bessey from Decline Of Western Civilization. Great movie.

  • Ugh!

  • Im very amused by this. New Wave was a weird version of Punk and Disco mixed.. But it's still Entertaining to watch.. as long as no one see's me doing so :|

  • That's the guy from Eagles Of Death Metal.

  • ill sunglasses

  • Sorry, this blows chunks.

  • Very Intresting!!!

  • aahaha awesome mustache!

  • This stuff reminds me of New York No-Wave.

  • Sounds like American Sugarcubes. The porn stash does nothing for the band. Odly enough I remember this.

  • Love it ! Awesome !! She´s so hot !!

  • hot!? you can barely see anything of her.. she has sunglasses on almost as big as her head...

  • heavy!

  • SO GOOD I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can here their music on myspace at under subjectsusa

  • They have the sound down perfectly from that time.

  • RIP Peter Ivers...there was only one New Wave Theater...and nice mustache on that guy!!

  • Does any one have anything from video west back stage pass?

  • I have a subjects video from that program, with Larry Woodside and Felice on it.

  • I used to watch Video West Backstage Pass every weekend. Can't find anything on youTube though. Anyone? They had great videos!

  • Brenda went to Holy Family, Gary went to Hoover High, Nick Went to Glendale High and Taught English ar Bellamine Jefferson in Burbank, Ken was from Ohio but lived in South Glendale. Their manager was Larry Woodside from Radio Station KROQ in Pasadena. Subjects Played the Palace, Roxy, KROQ Xmas Party, but no venues in Glendale. Not many places to play there, back then.

  • Dude, what the fuck is with that guys mustache? What a trip.

  • fuck yeah!!!

  • Honestly, that was rad.

  • sooo fucking amazing.

  • what year is this?

  • Later part of 1981

  • They are called "Subjects" A Band from Glendale, CA. The lead singer Nick Willicent was a 30 year old catholic school teacher from Burbank, the Girl is Brenda Rodriguez 17 a Student of Nick's. The band had some airplay on the Rodney Bingahimers show on Kroq with their song called I'm Mechanical. Steve is the lead guitar player with the blow-dry. Steve is now a multi-millionaire from LA who owns LA Nut House. Yeah Su has better chops.

  • @nonitv what else do you know? can someone please post more of their music

  • OMG who the F is this band?? Gotta love the blow-dry look of that lead guy, but that girl's voice makes Su Tissue sound like Pavarotti! Good to see Peter Ivers in any case...
