Hi I'm 15 years old and i'm saving up for some dj gear. I'm trying to buy 2 turntables and a mixer with a budget of about $600.i want something that will let me learn how to dj, so i can decide whether or not to buy more expensive, higher quality stuff. what turntables and mixers should i buy? i saw the gemini TT2000, which is in my price range. should i buy two of them?
but not ebay. im selling a xone 464 for only 550 and its worth 1799, its great condition and i got it for the full price last year. but yeah you cant get good deals on new items safely
@conors996 directly through the Pioneer reps. There is fuck all margine in Pioneer gear when it hits the store so go closer to the source. I was in retail and sold the Pioneer brand, you could "befriend" a sales person by maybe offering a little cash or whatever for them if they can hook you up. Other than that go second hand or pay their extremely rich prices
im selling a pair of pioneer cd j 1000 mk 3 .. for 1400 pounds .. anyone want to buy them then contact me .(used but brand new looking) . current market price for them for a pair is 2,200
there was one guy Piotr christo or something like that... promoting dj equipment, and when i asked him about a pioneer djm 800 he sai "its 700 dollars and if you pay today ill send you another one free" and well... i annoyed him until he blocked me on msn :(
It wasn't until he asked me to transfer the amount to a middle east account, meanwhile the site mentioned that they were in London... (His excuse was to evade tax so he can sell me at cheaper price); I decided to buy from a shop in Singapore.
Spending an extra almost USD 100, just to buy a peace of mind.
I was going to buy my Hercules MKII from one site I saw. It was about almost USD 100 cheaper than the one I found in Singapore. But after email the contact on the net, he just kept calling me non-stop pushing me to transfer the money... bear in mind that it was a long distance call. I felt uneasy. My gut feeling told me sth is not right. Cont'd...
and of course the higher the price the more quality you think you buy...it is just human way of thinking...10 years before, denon+pioneer were the THING,today things are changing and getting better...look at it this way=i love wolksvagen cars, but honest toyota is better car,BUT I WILL NEWER BUY ONE...you ondersend???
by the way, lazers in most brands cdj are all SONY standard, sliders and pots=ALPS ,switching power suply, and metal feel plastic parts with lcd displays from korea and what you buy extra is the SOFTWARE+PROTOCOL who controls cdj and gives you extra options for money....today are no more BAD STUFF.just cheap and expencive stuff....
*note dj'n is a passion not a car show, no disrespect, very interesting &cool things you've done here, please continue.. as for the products cheaper than you can believe they might have been factory b-stock items (meaning: didn't pass the initial factory test after made so they fix it & stamp it b-stock, then sold for much cheaper), "scratch'n'dent" or refurbished (meaning: used, maybe once broken). or like you say, con artiest...

i got a DjM-600 on ebay for $500. I was a bit weary but the seller had like 99% rating and hundreds of positive feedback. It works perfectly, absolutely nothing wrong. Sometimes the super cheap deals are real when you find someone like an ebay store that doesn't know the value of what they are selling.
You may have gotten it for cheap, but it doesn't have the factory warranty from Pioneer....if anything happens to it, you are screwed, you have no support whatsoever.
True. but the parts that are most likely to wear out (crossfader, volume faders) are replacable. It's also in a case so droping it i'm not very afraid of.
i got behringer ddm4000 from ebay for 329e deliverd to my home and it rockes crazy.... i gess the electronics are made better and cheaper this days....and pioneer is just a name.....made in malazya so i dont see the poin of paying much money for cheap labor and parts from korea........cheers..
who would buy stuff from a website that lists its items and price in plain text! ! ! commen sense...lmfao u buy from that site u deserve to lose your money
I can see that you're fourteen from you're stereotypical typing. Anyway, try and look around flea markets and discount shops. If you can gain any money, make sure you get a Direct Drive turntable, I made that mistake when I was twelve. Secondly, get any disc jockeys gear, headphones, a mixer, stereo & port-a-table. Optionally you can buy some new clothing, because you don't want to DJ in a sweater that's far to small, trust me.
Im 14 too and i dj go on ebay and see what u can find what u should do is buy one turntable and a mixer and work on scratching and plug your ipod into the mixer soo you can practice to ure favorite songs
Man, thanks for sharing this, most people aren't aware of this, and since today Internet will sell you anything for a cheaper price, people will go for it, and I also do it sometimes...
Any time they you find a great deal, but they want you to wire them the money before you receive the actual product, it is 99% of the time a scam. Pioneer (for example) has a list of authorized dealers on their website. Its always best to check that out if you want to buy from a person who claims to be an authorized dealer.
Great Advice..as always. BUT there's always people so stupid, they just want to believe they'll get something for nothing. It's the same with speakers. How can a 1000 watt 15" speaker and horn sell for $199 US? It's built like crap in China. And then they wonder WHY it doesn't sound so good after a month or so. LOL
not true...chine produce everithing today and it is for the "brands" so they sell the same product but without "brand" and is cheaper....say honest,if pioneer is bild in malazya with worker of 100dollar a month, tell honest how much is realy worth then??be honest!! 1000euro piece??? i DONT THIINK SO....!
Thanks for this video. Can you do me a favor? I sent Lt electronics $900 dollars for some "cheap equipment". Never saw that equipment. Spread the word. Thanks.
2 CDJ-1000's mk3 and a DJM-400 for $1900 NZ but they wanted me to send them money through WESTERN UNION money transfering company, apparently lots of scamers go through that company.
You right!! Were Im working we are dist. of everything for DJ & Audio and many people asked me prices, but when I tell them cost o items, they"re complaining, is a lot of money, but they don't understand that all items are original and no Refurbish!!! GOOD ITEM YOU ARE PAYING THE RIGHT PRICE, SIMPLE AS THAT!!
Thanks for sharing this important information. You are telling the truth. REAL DJ gear is not cheap. Not meaning too expensive to buy, just not horribly low priced. Lots of stuff is coming out of China with exact logo's, etc. BUYER BEWARE! "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is."
check out craisglist, theres sometimes real equipment there, and cheap. somethimes the odd dent and scratch, but you can usually use it before you pay the guy
Beware of fake items on eBay too! I purchased a pair of Sony headphones on eBay for a ridiculously cheap price. They ended up being fake and broke within a few months! I couldn't refund the product and I lost money in the deal.
I'm Glad you've drawn the message across. Always buy from a reputable retailer, read the reviews that other customers have provided, and also WATCH OUT for Cons.
I have received Stock in battered boxes, or parts missing, I'll have to do a video about it.
I found a sale on Sony MDR-700 headphones for like 16 bucks a pair on ebay. I knew that it was allot of bs but I ordered to see what they'd be like and they showed up but they were counterfeits. Although they were not as good as my other pair of real 700s, they actually sounded better than most phones that I would pay 75 bucks for. lol
THERE ARE SO MANY FRAUDULENT WEBSITES. SO MANY INTERNET FRAUDS. YOU CAN BE CHEATED AND END UP WITH NO MONEY AND NO EQUIPMENT. BE CAREFUL AND GET SAFE. BE SUSPICIOUS WHEN PRICE IS LOW!
There are many fake escrow websites. Its good to physically see seller and gear, but if you want to buy through Internet: GET VALID INFO ABOUT SELLER/COMPANY. I personally asked seller to send me picture with DJ gear + seller + piece of paper in his hand and my e-mail on this paper...
yeh i almost went n bought a dream set up online... ebay scammers almost i said, then it became some western money bank transfer ,, dont go thier its all lies im glad i researched first, PLUS it helps to support ur local store for sure, now thinking of buyin Rane Serato Scratch Online on Ebay seen afew sellers but its a big difference from retail in shops to net so ill reaserch a lil more n get some advice or seomthing.
I find that if you get a price from one shop (like the ones who advertise in DJ Mag) and then contact another one they will beat the first price. Repeat until no one can go lower. If they cant go lower but can match the price its always worth asking for something in addition (i.e. free next day P&P)
If they are selling things for dirt cheap and you actually get the product more then likely the stuff was stolen and they are trying to move the product so the cops don't find them with it. There are people on craigslist like that and of course other sites.
