Thank you for uploading the video. Great talk by Thich Nhat Hanh. It is so true that we fill our mind with restless thoughts and activities in attempt to 'block' pains and sorrows. If we practice mindfulness instead of indulging in restless activities, we would be able to recognize/release the pains, cultivate wisdom and stillness.
Seems like tim666661 isn't aware of the blind eye he's turned to a few truths about Thay -- just the ones he feels fits his perception of Thay. Check out his hate-and-propaganda-filled channel. (^= ^ )
Tuyube69, isn't the term for mental formations called 'samskara'? That's what he's named it as in his book 'The Heart of The Buddha's Teaching'... otherwise, great work bringing this clip to the masses who welcome it... and even to salty old tim666661, he needs *something* to do, after all.
Ah! That explains it -- thank you for your help! I lived in Wuerzburg many years ago as a young soldier, and have many fond memories of Germany, prior to practicing Buddhism...
Please continue to share the Dharma! Take care... (^- ^ )
Your ignorance is exceeded only by your bigotry. Thich Nhat Hanh has NEVER turned a blind eye to suffering. He returned to visit his homeland, which he loves and has been separated from for over 40 years. While there, he founded the monastery at Bat Nha, which has since been shut down and it's monks and nuns violently expelled and persecuted due to their peaceful reminders to the government of the right to religious freedom. Ignorance is not bliss. It is only ignorance. Cure yours.
Thich nhat Hanh is just a propaganda tool for the communist regime in Vietnam. A leader of anti-war movement in Vietnam war, he turned a blind eye to Hue massacre of 5,000 civilians by Vietcong in 1968 and Vietnam invasion and occupation of Cambodia in 1978. In 2005 and 2007 he returned to Vietnam to help the communist regime to improve its bad image for human rights violations and religious oppression so that Vietnam could gain permanent normal trade status with the US.
