  • I watch these shows alot that's why I get bad grades in my tests

  • At some point in my life, i shall have one of these :D

  • My Rhodesian Ridgeback mix is officialy listed as one of these on his vet records. What the hell.

  • video shows dog`s good parts

  • ITS SO FLUFFY IM GONNA LIVE!

  • Leonbergers aren't what you think they are. They could care less about people really. They would rather be around other dogs and will treat YOU like a dog. That means they'll jump up on you like another dog. At 120 to 150 pounds, that's a law suit waiting to happen. They're not particularly smart and not particularly trainable, so I'd stay away from this breed. They're good natured, sure, but are they "loving?" No, absolutely not. This video description mistakes a gentle dog with a loving dog.

  • @Quodaax

I own a leonberger and completely disagree with everything you just said.

    Do you even own ?

  • Never heard of a Leo biting anyone...

  • leonBERGER LOL!

  • i wish i could be the camera man for this show, what a job!

  • only an 8 year lifespan! :(

  • I have a Leonberger its the best dog ive ever had

  • @MrNoord1989 What other dogs have you had? I've got a Leonberger and of the six or so dogs I've had in my life, this one rates Number Six or so.

  • Leonbergers come from LeonbErg!

  • 18 pups the dad must be proud O___________O

  • i have one, they really are beautifull. The size is kinda problematic sometimes... (dammit, when he pulls, he can rip your arm off!)

  • @PietkaMS Walking law suits.

  • They are sooooooo beautiful! This episode was on this same morning and I fell in love!!! <3

  • My paternal Grandmother had one when I was a kid, great dog, he was in seventh heaven when us grandkids showed up.

  • 0:30 always puts me in a good mood

  • my friend has one named Cody

  • I need to stop watching this show. It makes me want to adopt ALL the dogs!

  • @CometxNova same with me been watching all these for weeks now i want a dog lol

  • can any one tell me about their Leonberger?

  • @lentzie1 My 2 year old is named Teddy and is by far the best dog ive had :)

  • the information about the city where the leonberger comes from is wrong. It´s not "Leonburg", it´s LEONBERG!

    Greetings from Leonberg :P

  • WTF is THIS?

Im German, and I live in "Leonburg" xDD

BUT THIS city DOES NOT EXCIST!!!! The correct name is "Leonberg"!!! :'D

When i walk out with my little dog i sometimes see a leonberger dog and WOW they're bigger than me o_O

  • I'm German, and I've never seen one xD

  • I have one male Leonberger. He is over 1.70 high :3 Much higher than a 5 year old child....

But it is the best dog in the world!

  • ...I want one, but I probably couldn't afford it. :/ Awesome looking...even if I could get one, we have too many dogs here already to try it.

  • 2:01 - reminds me of my hamster, Pudding :D

  • i wishd id had 6 leonberger dogs soem day

  • 0:01 to skip add. like to be on top

  • 0:01 to skip add. like to be on top

  • 2:00 awwww a puppy trying to get over the fence !

XD that's so cute!!! I want one !!!

  • i love leos,it's so sad that their lifespan is so short! :(

  • I want one lol

  • Getting my puppy this week :3

  • Damn that is a big dog.

  • they are so beautiful i definitely plan on getting one when i get older :)

  • I met a Leonberger once, and he was adorable. But he got out of the leash, and I got scared, actually the only thing he did was to sit down next to me. The owner said that the only reason he was in leash that day was because people had torches (?) in their hand, since the crowd was a demonstration crowd, and he was afraid of the dogs coat in case it would burn... I think I'll actually concider having a Leonberger someday :)

  • i'm getting one when i get older and move for myself :) right now i'm 20 and living at home with a malamute, who is a douchebag who won't listen to anything, but love him still :P but i "suffer" from dog allergies, which sucks more than you think, cause you can't cuddle with dogs the way you want to, unless you want to get itchy and sore eyes :( but after having a malamute and husky/malamute i believe having a leonberger will be an easy transition :) it's terrible that they have short lifespans

  • world's biggest teddy bear. nuff said.

  • 0:47 My God, she's the next Perdita!

  • @slugbug73-yes. Yes. And yes. They are amicable gentle and sweet.

  • i want a leonberger sooo bad i have a bernese mountain dog and a coton de tulear!!! they are soo funny next to eachother!!! and also i think leonberegers are soooo cute and cuddly omg do they make good pets?? r they good with other dogs?? good with children??

  • gorgeous dogs

  • for all dumshit or stupid people this is a MACEDONIAN DOG wich some dumass wants to be anyone's else dog name ШАРПЛАНИНЕЦ

  • @Deko309 This is a German dog. It's a Leonberger. You're thinking of the Šarplaninac wich is a Macedonian dog. They do look a like but the Šarplaninac have a more grey tone to their fur

  • @Deko309 dont be so negative use your words like an adult

  • I remember my first and only encounter with a leonberger. Usually I just walk past dogs and their owners but this one was so beautiful I just had to ask If I could pet it! I didn't know what breed it was and that was how I learned about the leonberger! And I sort of fell in love with it!

  • They are awsome

  • They have such a short life!!!! :(:(:(

  • I remember seeing footage of ABBA's Agnetha with her Leonberger as she walked and played with the Leo in thick snow .It was a marvellous sight !

  • the boerboel please!!

  • that's not a landseer newfoundland!!! landseers are black and white!!

  • Can you jog with them and if so when can you start with? I now have a 9 months old female she's very active and energetic. I was thinking about waiting to about 12-18 months is this okay too soon too late? Do they have problems with joints if you jogg with them?

ps. I won't jog too long only for about 5 km max. every other day. (I'm starting to jog too so it will only be 1-2km in the beggining)

  • FUCK!!! 18 puppiest, nice!!!

  • I want a leonberger... :)

  • my first dog was a Leo we got her when i was four. She lived to be an ancient twelve years old. We finally put her down because it was hard on her joints to walk around.

  • I WANT ONE :(

  • Eight years just is too short of a life!

  • I find it interesting that in French, "berger" means "shepherd"... so these are Lion Shepherds... cool!

  • i want this dog so badly!!!

  • dr. karen halligan is one of those cute women.

  • They are soo, cute!

  • i hate how bis ass dogs are ssososo amazing but live for like 10 years but little punt dogs live for like 15 years but there sooooo damn annoying

  • We have 3.. and they are the best

  • @TheKAMDAWG Oh,okay. Thank you (: I was like "aw, I don't wanna have one for such little time"! Haha

  • When they say life span of about 8 years. Do they mean it in dog years?

  • @aseretSTFU ovecourse not, thats like 2 years old in human years

  • I have one Leonberger too! :P <3

  • @TooiSasuke Me too! :)

  • Hi i'm not from USA so i have trouble watching Dogs 101 on net because of country i am in.And if i want to watch a episode i need to pay.Does anyone know where could i download episodes of Dogs 101 legaly or ilegaly?Or if someone can tell me where could i watch it for free on net? Please help

  • @animecute1 i usually watch shows on tvblinx i dont know if you can find it there or on the animal planet website

  • @partypenguinful How do you find it on there?I search for full eps of this on blinkx remote(tvblinx)and it says " Sorry, there are no shows matching your query".

  • @animecute1 then it isnt on there sorry

  • Comment removed

  • @zombiebomb88 Well there aren't full episode of maltese,shiztzu,yorkie...there are only clips like this...and if i won't to pay i don't know how to use iTunes. And on amazon i can't watch because of my country location

  • @animecute1 ''Free studio manager'' then download the ''Youtube'' and you can download vids from youtube to your computer. all safe! i use it for songs, also vids sometimes.

  • @SSonyv Hey i did what you said but these arent full eps. It's just a clip

  • @animecute1 Oh sorry I thought you just wanted one. Uhmm. Maybe the site?

  • I took care of a Leon once and she was so sweet!! she was amazingly patient and happy!! Her name was vodka! Lol

  • Watch Balthazar the sneaky dog!

  • I am a leo!

  • how ar eleonbergers a big as a lion...lions are 600 pounds.

  • 1L17 is not a landseer

  • I met an owner at the park having a Leonberger, as I thought it was a Saint bernard from behind (LOVE SAINT BERNARDS) I asked her if I could greet it. The owner was a special dogtrainer, and she noticed I got good care of dogs. She asked me to be her assistant as a summerjob (I'm 15).. Offered no since I'm doing voluenteer at the dogstables instead! :D and guess what, we just got a Leonberher there...

  • @TeamXFJ You are so lucky to be offered that kind of thing by a professional dog trainer!! I would do anything to work with animals. It's my dream, my goal, my everything =) <3

  • @TheDreamForgotten I love animals to, I really do :D Dogs are so special, you know they wont lie to you, they never would. I was about to say yes to the offer that lady gave me, but since I really want to help those abandonded dogs I chosed not to accept the offer :) The Leonberger , Leona, is still at the shelther though, we kept her since one of the employee fell in love with her. She recently got puppies, 7 adoreable ones.. :) I'm really glad I said no :D

    Go for it girl!

  • Thumbs up if you dont have most of these dogs but your just watchin cuz your bored.

  • my goodness 18?

  • They are beautiful! where i lived in Switzerland, a man always walked his leonberger along my street in the mornings.

  • I kinda want one I mean it's beautiful but short lifespan = sadness, heavy shedding = "snow globe house",and lots of space= big yard and or neiborhood, thats a big commitment

  • @UndercoverPegasus the shedding is not too bad if you sweep every other day it's okay and as long as you walk em you don't need alot of space

  • @azaaza0909 i know but still who wants 2 sweep every other day and walk them ALOT and what about the short lifespan? its a shame... such nice, and beautiful dogs

  • @UndercoverPegasus They don't need as much walking as most dog breeds like Labradors, Collies etc. As for the hair we actually find our Leonbergers moult less than our Golden Retrievers did. The thing is actually the training, many people don't put in the effort to socialize them with people and other dogs from 8 weeks. You may get away with it with a little Jack Russel or even a lab but not 10 stone dog! U should not own Leonbergers or giant breeds without proper experience with large breeds b4

  • @Alienzod okay... i guess...

  • I clicked it cuz of the name. It sounded so funny :)

  • my leonberger is 5yrs old n very fit. his name is toutou. he is just too cute<3

  • 18 pupies wow pls cn i have 1 lol

  • I love them x

  • wish i can have this wonderful gift someday. i really love big dogs with sensitivity.

  • They're so cute. <3

  • Plan on getting one of this breed:) Ive promised myself to only own one pure bred dog and it's this one, I'm usually more of a mongrel street mixed breed dog person haha

  • i'm more of a cat person but this dog just big and cute (baby talk)

  • i have seen this toilet paper add about 10 times. its starting to piss me off.

  • My lovely leo, Bella is 1 year old, happy and healthy

  • i have 4 leonbergers at home!

2 of them sits here now and look at the videooo!!!!

    dog 1: Mia

    dog2: Molly

    dog3: Alex

    dog4: Brownie

  • i have a femal leonberger

  • giving birth to 18 puppies lolzzzzz....... in general i love dogs and my favourite breeds are english cocker spaniel, rottweiler, and saint bernard. i own a english cocker spaniel named prince. leonberger is intimidating though. love it. - rakesh murthy

  • I looooooove Leos, most beautiful dog ever. They are so pretty and sweet, my neighbor has one and he is soooo sweet and cute.

  • my ex gilfriend have a 16 year old leon jajaj and she looks healthy as ever :D

  • I would LOVE to have one of these dogs but unfortunately, haven't got the space (living in England, which by the way for our American friends is a shithole and no I don't live anywhere near London, the house prices are ridiculous, not to mention fuel prices, council tax, road tax etc.) ANYWAY I have only ever met one once and fell in love straight away. As soon as I win the lottery, I'm buying a property big enough to house them

  • @jrlax1 yes they can, but that's not the problem here. he's talking about another breed, which can have a similar coat to leonberger. unfortunately, he's too lazy to to read about those 2 breeds before he makes a comment, so he ends up being mocked :/

  • I love this dog ^_^

hope I'll get one as soon as possible :)

  • BULLSHIT they from Yugoslavian

  • WTF!? This is FAKE!!!

Real name of this dog is Yugoslavian Shepherd dog or Sarplaninac and he is from Serbia and Macedonia!!!

  • Their Two differnt breeds of dogs that look similar to one another.

  • @Srbbbinnn It's a Discovery Channel show... I'm pretty sure it's not fake. You are talking about a different breed that looks similar.

  • @Srbbbinnn Well considering all pure Leonbergers can be traced back to the 8 that survived World War Two, I don't think this video is fake, do you?

  • @vampirekittypie I heard it was 5 that survived WW2? I could be wrong though... I know they were nearly extinct after both world wars.

  • If you want a Leonberger but are a bit put off with the size then go for a female. They are generally....GENERALLY...a bit smaller. But remember, even then they are still a bloody huge dog. You can see my Leo by having a look at my profile. I posted a vid of him when he was a little smaller than what he is now.

  • Wow. I would love to have one of these big babies! Can't imagine how much it costs to raise one. My GSD costs quite enough!

  • I WANT ONE!!!! but it's hard between this or a bullmastiff

  • @tigger4evertrue

I have had both a Leo and a Bullmastiff....I do not envy your situation mate :) My Bully died a while ago but she was one of the most special dogs I have ever known. As for my Leo...well let me just say that it really is like having another human in the house. I love him to bits. Just do lots of research on them first. Visit the breeders a lot as well. That will give you the chance to know the breed better.

Again, both breeds of dog are just fantastic. Best of luck to you.

  • dude my neaighbors just got a leonberger puppy its SOOOOOOO adorable!!!! 9 weeks!!!!

  • I would love to have a leonberger/ German Shepherd mix

  • i love leonberges. =)

  • 8 years? thats heartbreaking :(

  • The narrative in this film is not entirely true. The lifespan of a Leo is approximately 10 years and some can live to 12. My leo was 10 last Christmas. His hearing is fine, his sight is fine and he is full of beans and still wants to play. As I board dogs in my home, this keeps him young with a constantly changing lot of companions for him. Also, I wouldn't say they are particularly smart compared to other breeds. But they are very sensitive.

  • I wish they could find a way to extend these animals lives. just lost my second dog 10 years just isn't enough time.

  • looks like sarplaninec(macedonian sheperd)

  • damn i didnt know that germans had bred so many dog breeds. makes me a bit proud ;)

  • getting mine tomorrow!!!

  • he looks like the illyrian shepherd.. anyway illyrian shepherd is way bigger and stronger than this one..

  • 170 lbs :D weighs heavier that me

  • Sable is my big baby!!!

  • I have a Leonberger mix! Lucky me :D

My dog is just wonderful, but someone gets scared of her because of her size + that she bites. She only bites for play and fun and isnt aggressive. She's never been aggressive. And her play-biting doesnt hurt either :P

    And again.. LUCKY ME XD

  • @Marenay I have a Leonberger at home ^^ pure breed and it also has a German daddy ^^ and they are soooo sweet to everyone <33

  • @elth1992 Cool! :D Yeah, I think evry single dog that has some Leonberger in it, or is a 100% leonberger is sweet to everyone :D None of this dogs would ever hurt a fly<33

  • @Marenay Lucky You, Im not allowed to have dog =( I hate my mum.

  • @saxin12 Do you geniunely, truly deeply hate your mom? Or do you just dislike her for not letting you have a dog? Accept it.

  • @RuffleCoptah I hate her on the animal way.. But not as being my mum :P I just want a dog :(

  • @saxin12 Ahh I see. Well, I totally feel you there mate! Same issue here :( LET'S CRY TOGETHER!

  • @RuffleCoptah :'(

  • @saxin12 <3

  • AWWW I WANT A LEONBERGER

  • I lost mine when he was 5 :(

    Damn you cancer..

  • @Rymaggio We lost our nine year old Dalmatian to cancer ='(

  • Those dogs are so gorgeous! But, I wouldn't let a dog jump up and lick me in the face like that.

  • @MsLabMom i would!

  • I have one of these! Ruby is my big silly baby!

  • i just realised that alot of large out going dogs always seem to have short lifespans but dogs like the caucasian shepard can be VERY agressive if not trained well have much longer life spans

  • If you want a royal dog that you dont have to train to be a guard dog and its huge get a neo mastiff

  • if you take care of them good enough then they can live more than 8 years. my dog wa like 13 years old, when hes dead :\ i miss him relly mutch, but now i have a girl leonberger, shes 8 months old now, and shes alredy like 60 kgs :D

    i love leonbergers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the best dogs in the world!!! :D

  • @Susi1013 yeah i have a leonberger and he is 13 years old i would not change it for anythnig

  • WTF all the coolest dogs are from Germany, like German shepherd, Rottweiler, Leonberger, etc...

  • trgdt

  • 8 years? mine live an average of 10 to 11 years. It depends on the breeding. And some of my girls are bigger than any boys.

  • Get a Tibetan Mastiff if you want longer lifespans :) But this is such a cute dog!

  • EXELENTES PERROS, RECIEN TENGO UNA PAREJA Y ME ENAMORE DE LA RAZA AHORA TENGO A SUS CACHORROS!!!!! Y CADA DIA ME GUSTA MAS, LASTIMA QUE AQUI EN MEXICO HAY MUY POCOS PERROS Y NO SON MUY CONOCIDOS Y ME SIENTO AFORTUNADO DE HABER CONOCIDO ESTA RAZA, GRACIAS Y ESPERO QUE HAYA MAS INFORMACION DE ESTA HERMOSA E IMPRESIONANTE MASCOTA

  • I WANT ONE

  • hamburguer? NO... leonberger

  • Mine is 8 soon to be 9. If you take a good care of the dog he could bee 10. But there is no guarantie. Always look for good-health parents.

  • Chow Chows are the closest to a lion

  • do they really need allot of space because i live in a townhouse with a mediocre yard but i am willing to walk it allot and there's allot of open space not far from my house where i can take it regularly will this be enough? please respond

  • @azaaza0909 they dont need that much excersize in the first years then they might need a little more around 3-5 and then they calm down again. i have a leo and she sleeps usually during the night and just want petting during the day they are great dogs and very gentle. They dont need that much space but they can have an active level from 2-10 it all depends on the dog so if you try to get a calm leo you should have no problem

  • My first Leo, a male, lived to 11.5 yrs. His father lived to over 12. His mother to 10.5. My current Leos are 6.5 yrs and 14 months. The young one is one of the 18 in the episode. See my channel for some other videos of the mine if interested. One thing I didn't understand is the hip dysplascia. Less than 10% of the Leos get it. Bone cancer and Hermangio Sarcoma (which took my first one) is far more common.
