Very much true, but, us taking care of our own people isn't an important factor in getting "Whitey" to respect us IMHO. Our main focus as a race just simply needs to be taking care of our own people. Whether we get more white people to respect us a little more...well, who cares? We're still going to be hated by some of them so we might as well keep striving for a better future. Respect (whether quiet, whispered or full-on vocalized) will come from various places by default. That's just my take.

Of course it was a mask for racism. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests that the mark of Cain was dark skin or that all dark-skinned people were descended from Cain. They couldn't quote a verse and neither can he so why does this count against Christianity?

Credible historical sources, please. I've heard the "Christianity was stolen from pagan sources" stuff before. So far, it hasn't panned out. Also, I went to high school with a Jewish guy. He wasn't racist, so there's at least one. He didn't look like a parasite either. Didn't see any suckers anyway. What say you?

How does the maker of this video reconcile their view with the fact of first century Egyptian Christianity? The establishment of the Christian kingdom in Axum starting in the early 300s (converted by shipwrecked Assyrians, not white slave-trading Europeans)? Similarly 1-3 century Christianity in North Africa (what is now "Islamic" North Africa) and Sudan? This was all before European Christian slavery, as it was mostly before Europe was Christian! Monasticism came to Europe from Africa...

@ThaLinguist You are free to read the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church's history from its own documents and its own traditions. St. Frumentius, the first bishop of Axum, was indeed a Syrian (well, Syro-Phonecian, born in Tyre, Lebanon). I do not believe I've said anything in ignorance, but if you are a member of the EOTC, I await your correction. My point was certainly not that Ethiopian Orthodoxy is what is addressed in the video, but that things aren't as simple as the video claims.

Christianity is an African religion. It's roots are the Nile Valley(of which Ethiopia is a part). Horus, Osiris, Isis. Get the picture. St. Augustine said that the religion known as Christianity was known to the ancients, before it was given that name. Eusebius said that it was nothing new nor strange. Tertullian, same thing. You're free to research them.
By the way, Syria is just north of Palestine. ASsyria stretches into Mesopotamia. They are not the same place. You have now been corrected.

The Arabization and Islamicization of Syria has mostly erased this identity, though there are non-Arabized Muslims in Ma'loula in western Syria who still speak a dialect of Assyrian. Before the coming of Islam, it was the lingua franca of the region, certainly not just confined to Mesopotamia.
