You may be re-energized by Obama's speech, but he has already backed off the public option, and now DEMOCRATS, having received millions in insurance lobbyist money, have eliminated it. Max Baucus, the senator from Montana, for some reason has been put in charge of writing the new healthcare bill, and it not only eliminates the public option, it forces all Americans, without exception, to purchase PRIVATE insurance.
You read that right. Mr. Baucus has sold you and us out.

Polit, The "liberal propaganda" is mostly what's happening as the liberals are in full control of what's happening in Washington! In a partisan fashion, Democrats are the ones pushing out all this liberal agenda with no consideration of opposition. And we had plenty of "GOP" propaganda under Bush and there was plenty there I didn't agree with! Much like Bush doing the bank bailouts or the push for amnesty for illegals! But for the moment, it looks like obamer has to take the heat!

It isn't simply subsidizing ICs that's wrong, but what those companies do with the funds that's the joke. If they'd insure everyone and deny no one, it would be a better system. From what I've read and correct any inaccuracies on my part, the Netherlands have private insurance companies and they've obtained nearly universal coverage.

Also, i hope you don't have grandparents on Medicare, cause thats SOCIALISM and that means it will probably end sweet Grannys life earlier than it should. Also I hope you don't have any veterans in your family because VA hospitals are SOCIALISM. Not everything should be socialized, but alot of things should be, including drug companies.

I oppose Congress turning corpses into atuomobile food! In fact, I strongly oppose it!
Of course, no one is actually considering turning corpses into fuel for automobiles, so my opposition is pointless.
In other words, no one is advocating, or at least no proposals are being taken seriously for, a single-payer system. If anything, we're going to be like Germany with a mix of public/private health insurance options.
