Mind you, their idea comes from the same place. Ermac was a rumored glitch for the original Mortal Kombat where Scorpion would get palette swapped and turn red (which wasnt true). Then, when Mortal Kombat 2 came out, people said there was a ''Skarlet'' secret character who was a palette swap of Kitana. This ALSO proved to be untrue, but both were actually made into characters.

King Jerrods spirit was the strongest spirit, so when the binding ritual expired along with Shao Kahn, he fought off all of the other spirits to gain control of Ermacs body.
