  • I'm a prows owner of one of those

  • surely this will just take the skill out of batting if every shot is going for 6

  • wht only hayden? so every one can use it rite? how much does it cost?

  • This Bat is going to kill the game there is no technique involved in this and when the professionals they will have no control with the other bat, i say this bat is rubbish Hayden only succeed once and failed after that and more importantly he failed when came to super clean bold 1 ball

  • No it will kill 20/20 which I've never taken very seriously

  • No defence in T20? Oh really? So I guess 100% of dot balls are as a result of air swings?

  • @ajmage well 90% probably are

  • Both "Pizazz" AND "Razzmatazz"? This bat is incredible.

  • LOL hear how dissed England batsman in the last 10 seconds.

  • @Molorulz haha, that was funny " must remember australians are considerably better' lol

  • Stupid comment by the inventor in the video. He says there is no defense in 20/20 only attack, but real world regardless of 20/20 50/50 there are and will be SHORT Balls that you will eventually have to defend., I can already see people getting playing Short ball with their body or face if they use this bat.

  • hayden tonked it all over the park with the mongoose today...

  • would like to see how Hayden does with this bat, in the IPL

  • Hayden went nuts with it last night

  • stupit, the traditional bat is very lean in this video.

  • if he can make the blade a bit bigger it just might do the job!!!

  • I think thats against the point of the bat though.

  • it may be able to pelt sixes but surely its hard to execute and place you shot with sutch a small blade

  • the other bat the have there is a ver thin one.

  • i've got this bat it is amazing

  • @sc0000197 can you upload some videos of it please? I will subscribe you for that :) PLEASE!!

  • i went 2 lords, bought a mini bat n ball at gift shop.

in the nets they train so ppl see near the lil gate, hardly any sat down or went up the upper compound stands.

    but i did!lol

looks so much kwler on televison (matches)

but seeing it in just 1 view looks better as if its a normal friendli criket game

  • I don't think the bat will a) catch on or b) provide any real advantage to the batsman using it.

Yes it could be good for T20 style play. But, using the shorter blade, it will be easy for bowlers to bowl in areas difficult to play with the smaller blade. Bouncers/ short pitched deliveries will become harder to play. It will also be difficult for batsman to adjust to playing with one bat for T20 and another bat for 4/5-day cricket.

  • "In T20 there is no defense"

    What a load of balls.

  • What is the inventor talking about? Test match cricket moving towards T20? He is talking out of his arse isn't he?

  • heres a thought.

Bowl round the wicket, coming into the batsman, good length ball, bita lift or bounch into the rib-cage area. Theres no top of the blade to defend it with, woofta coupla broken ribs for ur troubles.

Bowlers will adapt, they always do.

  • Then you just rock onto the back foot and hit it round the corner :)

  • awesome once u get used to it u'd be able to smack a few

  • The invention should come from the players - inventing new shots, taking risks etc. Afterall, a six is so impressive because it means that the batsman has found the 'sweet-spot' by combining risk with technique - the technically gifted players can find the sweet-spot with more consistency than their less-gifted counterparts. If you make the entire bat a sweet-spot - you take away the element of skill. The last thing cricket needs is its own 'swimsuit saga'...

  • Mongoose definatly looks thicker in the blade.

    Wonder if it'll take off?

  • Well folks, now Ive seen everything. Whats next?? Using Velcro on your fingers for spin.. Seriously, If they bring this bat in think they should allow bowlers to bowl beamers and any number of bouncers per over

The Cricket world has to get a grip of itself, Else are we slowly entering the realm of baseball?

  • In reply to jimbeam1239 the bat is the same length as a normal bat, just has different proportions between handle and blade

  • this is the dumbest thing ever! why would you use this.. well yea it wud be fun but all the bowler has to do is bowl a yorker and the batsmen wouldnt be able to reach it!!

  • The bat made it's first class debut yesterday in Derbyshire's win against Durham. Stuart Law made 32 with the conventional bat (the one without splice) Then called for the short bat and smashed an amazing six.He was eventually run out having made 42 off 25 balls.

  • Ummm the mongoose isnt the only bat without a splice :@!!! he doesnt know what he is talking about! Try looking at the Newbury C6+ :) thanx 1-0 to me!!

  • when do they come out? when they do where can you get it from?

  • Definately getting one!

  • you're easily sold.

  • @angelis34 did you buy it?

  • every new rule thats passed in cricket is always in favour of the batsman.

  • Thats because its a batsman's game

  • @thisJoey not really...what about the 15 degrees rule that was changed.....
