@nonassumsit This is Miami Dade County Approved for the Hurricane High Velocity Wind Zone. It currently has the highest wind uplift rating in the industry. The video is only to show utility, aesthetics are very different. The material in the video was over 2 years ago and was prototype. We now have many installations with different looks.
Thank you for replying so quick but what is the cost comparison to a tile roof with solar panels ? because as I previously stated it looks very fiddly and labour intensive.
Lots of different materials for the tradesmen to use etc ?
@1402janelle In our Tile integrated installation, the solar is approx. $5.00 per watt and the roofing part $6.00 per sqft including demolition of the old roof, new underlayment ect....... Individuals in less restictive code areas can do the Solar at $3.00 per watt and the roof part at $3.50 per sqft. My 19 year old son did one of the roofs in Miami Beach, Florida with no prior construction experience. The roof is very basic but looks authentic!
It looks very labour intensive ? fiddley ? I can't see this saving people money ? How does it fair for cyclone ratings ? I wouldn't think it would hold at all ? I hope I am wrong here but it looks very flimsy ? sorry not to offend
@1402janelle The video is only for show. We actually have the highest wind uplift resistance for the Hurricane High Wind Velocity Zone of 190 ftlbs. uplift here in the State of Florida. We are Miami Dade County approved. No offense taken. The system was designed for the worst kind of punishment!
@obamatran The polyfoam adhesive that is used here is superior to cement , nails and screws. Also you eliminate the penetrations that can cause leaks. This is the best thing for Hurricane High Velocity Wind zones.
The gable details follow standard RAS 118 and RAS 120 standard roofing procedures. We recommend the use of clay starter tiles for perimeter and valley details. The primary innovation we show here is the use of an 84" step formed metal panel in lieu of real clay pan tiles to create the ultimate true Barrel Tile System. This system installs just like any barrel tile roof only easier.
This system has been designated by the Miami Dade Board of Rules and Appeals as a HYBRID GREEN ROOF SYSTEM. The System has been Miami Dade County Product Approved since last year. The Board voted in favor of this system to be used as a recover over existing shingles, new roofing construction and re-roofing with a mechanically fastened REX -SYNFELT.
camboz1, For your information, the Polyfoam product in the video has been tested & approved for Hurricane High Wind Velocity Zones for the last 17 years. F.E.M.A. recommends its use in coastal areas. This is the preferred method of applying roof tiles here in the State of Florida. Our approval is from 2/12 to 7/12. Most homes here are 3/12 to 5/12 pitch and are not as steep as what you are probably used to in the U.K.

what is the universal pan tile made of?
i would think the polyfoam would'nt last as long as the traditional "nail" down and how does your system fair in the cold midwest?
gokomets77 1 year ago 4
@gokomets77 The polyfoam adhseive is ideal for extreme environments and will last longer than nails.
Artezanos1 1 year ago
@gokomets77 by the way we are using aluminum but our patents cover all metal, plastics and composites.

how are gable ends, and valleys finished off with this system?? from what the video shows the whole roof covering is stuck down to the underlay felt.

like to see that done on a roof with a half decent pitch on it .roof tiles fixed down with expanding foam sounds a bit dodgy to me
