for some reason I didn't hear about Mike Starr until today. It's really got me in a strange funk. So many people are dying because of drugs. Mike and Layne were my age. When we grew up everyone was getting wasted....at least everyone of that type of crowd. The thing is though, when you have to live a normal life, most people have to grow up and get it together. Musicians continue to live that life and the stakes just get higher. Then they end up dead. I pray AIC has no more tragedies.

I recently found out that Mike Starr had passed away. Where the F I was...yeah. Anyway, addiction is a F'ing nasty, nasty horrible disease and not alot of people realize its grasp on those who suffer from it. Even the addicted person has no idea or remote clue themselves what power it has over them. I was very hopeful for Mike to get his sober on. Unfortunately, the disease took him over and caused his untimely death. I wish only the best for his family & friends, hoping they find comfort.

I don't watch Dr.Drew(who should stick to private patients),but I do know how belligerent drug users can get when you are trying to help them.I had a friend who overdosed on heroin 10 years ago,and trying to help him was like poking a cobra with a stick.His personality had totally changed due to the drug.I expect that Mike was much the same-nasty,verbally abusive,etc.It must be a constant torment trying not to use.My condolences to his family,and friends.He did try,and that says something.
